  • The John Deere 1025R with backhoe was a perfect fit for Brian's drainage project.
    Compact, nimble, and yet plenty powerful to solve the problem.

    Nice video, got to love the power of those little machines. I agree with you guys on the video game thing, my son visited me a week ago he sat for the first time in the 2025r and handle the 270a backhoe like it was nothing, greetings

    Hi Tim - Just got a new 1025R TLB and have been digging up stumps with it since it was delivered. Many thanks for your videos as they were a great guide to what one can do with a 1025R.

      @TractorTimewithTim  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BigJim57 the jingle is quite catchy! I hear it over and over during editing, and I can't get it out of my head!

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BigJim57 Well, Big Jim, I hope it isn't the Mr Roger's song. It should be original. One of our subscribers from North Dakota wrote it for us!

      @bigjim5723 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i'm glad someone did write it for u! but i just can't figure out where i've heard that jingle at before. ur right it's catchy! when i hear it, i just think back 35yrs ago when my oldest son would be watching his shows in the morning on our tv back then, and i would just be waking up after working the night before. and i swear one of his shows had a jingle to it, just like urs.

    Tim, I would challenge you to a duel on mini excavators! lol. Digging next to a power pole to a house, digging out a house foundation, and crossing a ditch perpendicular to finish the ditch. What do ya say?? Lol. Or on bigger loader/backhoe? Interested? :)

    Tim, might have to come off the slab 6-12" and fill the space with concrete and even back the drain with concrete so it doesn't move.

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good idea. We'll monitor it. Brian is trying to stay on a 'budget' with this project. Those plastic drains were expensive enough!
      So, we'll start with the low cost approach, then modify if necessary.

    Been browsing through all of your backhoe vids and this one seems to be the only one where at least one of the stabilizer feet are on concrete. Do you have the "street pads" on the bottom of those feet to prevent marring the concrete or pavement?
    I called my parts guy and he says even John Deere's main supply doesn't have their street pads available right now. Part no. BLV10986 for the 260B backhoe. $134/set. Not sure if they would fit the 260.
    Dealer also said this part could be one of those long-term, indefinite backorders, so as usual, I will swing into action and make my own! (Maybe Heavy Hitch should look into whipping up a bunch of them!)
    I ordered a 2" thick rubber loading dock bumper to cut to correct size (big enough to make two!) to bolt to the bottom of the feet on mine. Will see how well it works out. Will post pics on your FB page if they work well. Cost just $33 on eBay, plus whatever bolts, nuts and washers I will need.

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe Artillian makes backhoe foot pads. Not sure if they fit 260bh or not.

    • @robertbunch8362
      @robertbunch8362 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are for the models 7 & 46 backhoes. older models. not sure if they would fit the newer 260 and 260B models.

    Hey Tim how will does the backhoe dig in clay and rocky soil? And if you have dug in these kind of soil, do you think the 1025r tractor and hoe are plenty sufficient?

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +All21 Leishman hard to say...every situation is different. The 8" bucket would do better than the wider buckets

  • @Drew6709
    @Drew6709 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Brian needs an electric hammer drill or breaker. The air hammer works but needs an awful lot of air for it to work right. An electric hammer drill would make an air hammer look like a toy. lol. Just another toy suggestion for Brian to play with. :)

      Yes, I got the toothbar from www.heavyhitch.com
      It is easy to remove and re-attach.
      Greg (at Heavy Hitch) is very helpful, and will talk you through the details.

      John, please look at the dates on these videos. This was 2016, very early in our youtube experience.
      You will find that by the end of 2016, we had the ROPS back on, and we use it in the upright position.
