It does connect to other users via Bluetooth. We all bought these and I didn’t have time to fit mine for a ride. I connected to the 8R with my old Tour model. 👍
very helpful but these units are not back-compatible with older units (Avant, Sport etc) they will only connect with one unit and if others all have older units and you use this, you will only be able to talk to one person and not the whole group. Not at all helpful.
Got this device (ucom 2) months ago for an adventure trip. I used it one day, the next day I tried to charge it and no way. Battery dead. I used an external battery the whole trip. When I got back home, did buy another battery. Same story, used it once, battery not charging anymore, dead. Case you are wondering how do I charge it? No nuclear energy the same old little charger I used with any other device, phone, gps... I feel totally cheated. Avoid this thing anyone out there!

Anyone living problems with BMW TFT System telephone conversation? Can see the call answer the call but the line is a complete silence (8R)
When you say not bluetooth 8r...do you actually mean it will not connect to any other units via bluetooth, only ones with the same mesh system?
It has Bluetooth but only to connect to your TFT displays and phones. It doesn't have Bluetooth connectivity between com units.
