    Subtle difference. I feel like you very accurately described it. Could hear ever so slightly quicker response and little more spread on rolled tone holes.

    From here, you sound identical on these instruments. I don't doubt there are differences for the player.

    Is there any drawback in having a high f sharp?

      No draw back. It's personal. Some people perceive a difference, some people don't. If anything, the F# horns have a "tighter" sound and are slightly less flexible, but not in a bad way.
