Dimash plays the DOMBRA, a typical string instrument from Kazakhstan and Turkic countries. This is a beautiful Kasakha folk song that Dimash added jazz sounds to and brought to the present.
Actually Dimash is educated in every singing genres there is. There's nothing he can't do. Opera, pop, rock, folksongs, rap, jazz, R&B, funk'n soul. So he's an alien in 2023 for the most of us, because we have never heard such a talented singer before. 👍 Best regards from Norway 🇳🇴
Love how he updated the old Kazakh folk song, & yes, Dimash can sing everything. That's a 2 stringed Dombra he begins with, & apparently every Kazakh household has one. Every child plays it, so I read. Dimash plays it, along with keyboards, & started out on piano when they found out he had perfect pitch & started with concentrating on his vocals. He won a piano contest at age 6. He plays, guitar, & drums, among others.
THANKS for your reactions to Dimash!!!!……China 2023. Dudarai , It’s a traditional Kazakh song. The instruments is DOMBRA two strings instrument. Amazing and perfect Dimash….saludos desde México…..🔥🥰❤️😍🇰🇿🇲🇽
That’s Dimash!!! Always bringing something new. By the way, I think he needed a flute, so he made the sound with his voice. Thank you for your reaction. ❤️🙏☮️

As part of the “Beauty and Harmony” program, Dimash delighted the audience in China with the Kazakh song Dudarai composed by Bakhytzhan Baikadamov. Dimash was accompanying himself on dombra and piano to perform the traditional song in jazz style. It was really amazing to see on stage a new facet of his multiple skills, always on point!! 🔝❤️🎤🪕 The dombyra (домбыра) is a lute-style instrument. It is an ancient and quintessential piece of Kazakh culture and identity. In its most popular form, the dombyra has two-strings strung down a long, skinny neck and a pear-shaped body, flat at the front and rounded on the backside. The dombyra is, in fact, so important to Kazakh national identity that there is a popular saying: “Naǵyz qazaq qazaq emes, naǵyz qazaq - dombyra” (Нағыз қазақ қазақ емес, нағыз қазақ - домбыра), which, translated, means “A real Kazakh is not a Kazakh, a real Kazakh is a dombra.” 💙💛🔝🌹🌹
🎶 Dombra (dome bra) 2 strings made of horsehair and gut, traditionally played for centuries by the indigenous Nomads of the Kazakhstan steppes. His Grandfather, a Master Player honored by his government and considered a "national treasure". You have seen and heard that instrument before In other songs of his and you seen him play it before. It's only one of the seven instruments he plays. The dombra aka dombyra is a lute-style instrument. It is an ancient and quintessential piece of Kazakh culture and identity. In its most popular form, the dombra has two-strings strung down a long, skinny neck and a pear-shaped body, flat at the front and rounded on the backside.
Opera is not a range opera is a style/genre with its own unique technique. Opera is sung in all ranges: bass, baritone, tenor, alto and soprano. The unique thing about dimash is he could sing using his operatic technique in all five of those ranges.
❗A famous Russian voice teacher, mouth open gaping at her screen, paused, took off her glasses, leaned back, wiped her eyes, sat up, looked straight into the camera and BURST OUT LAUGHING ! A venerable old folksong, sung for generations by Kazakhs and Russians, all jazzed up 🎹🎷Only Dimash... The instrument is the dombra. He has played it in many videos. Also, note that his Bachelor's degree is in Pop and Jazz, which is showcased here quite well.
This a Kazak folk song. He plays 10 or 12 instruments. Sings in 12 languages. The first verse is in its original form I think but what he does in the 2nd verse onwards is what is mind blowing!! Thank you! Love Dimash!🤩❤️🌹🇨🇦
LOL🙄😂😅😂🤣 You have only seen 15 performances of almost 200 available😅😂🤣 All children in Kazakhstan grow up being able to at least play the Dombra. Every household has one at least. Dimash can play 6 other instruments as well. It is becoming a trend that when Dimash has a concert in a country, he is gifted a traditional or unique musical instrument for his collection. Since we in North America don't really have any long standing traditional instruments, it will be a mystery of what gift we could provide if/when he hopefully comes back here.😢🥹☹️ May I suggest Samaltau, Omir/2023, Our Love (Masked Singer), or Drunken Concubine and Diva Dance duet with Li Yugang next please. No others yet. This was his first Jazz type song presented but there have been rumours that there might be more Jazz/Blues on the new Album he is working on. We saw clips of him filming a new music video but all is still in mystery. He has been performing at multiple Festivals in China, filming in USA, recieving an award and performing in Kazakhstan and visiting friends and family. Exhausting just trying to keep up to him. 🥰🥰🥰Hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦
I have already read from Kazakhs in the comments that not all people in Kazakhstan play the Dombra or own one. But in Dimash's environment, which is certainly musically special, it is like that. His family is very traditional, which is not the case in the whole country as I think.
@@Living_compassion_peace Thank you for letting me know. I will be more accurate in future comments. My comment was based on an old interview by Dimash but you are correct that it is likely about his small group of people that he knows.❤️👍
@@reneedevry4361 Dimash often said that. He grew up in an artist's bubble, and he certainly thinks so. 😀 I'm not a Kazakh myself, I've just read it many times in the comments now. I'm from Austria/Europe and people think we all walk around in a Dirndl (traditional dress for farmer women long ago), but many of us have never owned one or wear it only for fun at events and only in some areas. This is probably the case in many countries. Much of it is for tourism and traditional events. Greetings
