Excellent video, thankyou for posting it. Very easy to read the mind of the driver- 'for god's sake pass me and put your foot down- i really don't want you on my tail as i don't have brake lights!'

The car isn't a replica, it's technically a recreation. The car had an original D50 V8 engine and transaxle gearbox, the rest were new bits manufactured, and were identical to the originals in every way. The team who made the car is helped by Lancia, by lending them one of the surviving original cars to study and to take measurements.
375GTB I highly doubt that, this is 1 of 2 Lancia D50s from the Collier Collection, if I remember one is legitimate and the other was built later by the same people who made the D50s back in 1954-1955.
@@Loulovesspeed It is a genuine D50, but not an "original" D50. There were only two surviving original D50s, both were in Italy. This car is a recreation from some original components. And as for the engine sound, it sounds identical to the originals, and for a very good reason...
@@jcgabriel1569 I wasn't aware of that - thanks for the info! As a sideline, CMC Diecast makes a fantastic 1:18 scale model of this great machine. Incredible detail you need to see to believe. Sells for about $500.

RIP Eugenio Castellotti .
Is this the real thing or a replica?
Real thing: they are so rare now, there are even no blueprints of them to make a replica.
@375GTB - The engine it was built for - a 2.5 liter, DOHC, carbureted V8 putting out 260 HP @8,200 rpm.
