I lived in Carmel some years ago. Love the summer festival stuff, free music on the green, used to ride the Monon trail all the way to downtown indy, went to the Tarkington for plays, visited the Christmas market and ice skating, absolutely LOVED it. Now I'm in Zionsville. I don't want to encourage anyone to live here. I love the little village, it's like living in the 1950s. Kids at the park playing ball, people sitting on benches on the main street eating ice cream, a handful of unique restaurants, houses with gardens galore.... Life is good here.

What are some of the luxury neighborhoods athletes from the pacers or colts chose to live in?
Many live in Zionsville or Carmel. The actual neighborhoods vary but many are gated. Some live in Indianapolis as well. Downtown condos are popular too.
How does the library system compares with each other in the suburbs?
The library system in Hamilton County where these suburbs are located is pretty phenomenal. Big and multiple locations.
It appears that Carmel 101+K will soon surpass South Bend 102+k ranking as Indiana's 4th largest city. I predict Carmel will eventually replace Evansville 117+k ranking it 3rd within 5-10 years. As for being 2nd in the state to take a rapid growing Fort Wayne's spot 270+k probably not in our life time. I look forward to seeing Indy finally hitting the 1 million mark in city proper population. Outside of Indianapolis in my opinion I would say Carmel and Columbus are the most unique in their own signature style (not like other towns). Love the architecture in Carmel.
Carmel is a beautiful place. And yes, soon to be 3rd largest behind Fort Wayne. I agree it would be tough for it to surpass it. It doesn't have the room to expand to Fort Wayne's size.
I often wondered why there are no residential highrises in the suburbs of Indy like you would see in places like Atlanta's Buckhead, Chicago or Toronto. Could there be a market for one say like a 30 story luxury residential tower in Carmel? Are there height limits in Carmel or around the metro area for residential highrise buildings? Reason I ask is because I have lived in them down in Florida where it's common. May be it's a cultural difference.
@@Itravelbackintime There are some residential "towers" or taller buildings in Carmel. Especially in the Arts and Design District. But, they are hardly high rise towers. I don't think there would be a market for that in Carmel. Also, I do believe there are some restrictions but not exactly sure what the details look like.
Nice video. You didn't say much about the quantity of roundabout in Fishers. Are there many roundabouts in Fishers?
Absolutely. Plenty of roundabouts in Fishers. Other surrounding suburbs as well. Carmel has led the way on this with others following. Indianapolis is following as well.
One more question: Compared with Fort Wayne (to the north of Indiana), and Indianapolis and Fishers, which has a colder winter, Carmel, Fishers or Indianapolis?
@@michosa1 Fort Wayne may have a slightly snowier winter but all are about the same with reference to cold.
Out of curiosity, may I ask where you grew up in Indiana, and what city do you choose to live in now?
Sure! I grew up in Evansville, IN. Lived in Muncie for 5 years.Lived in Indy since 1997. I've lived on the east side and west side. Lived in Fishers since 2004 until January of this year (2020). Now we live in Greenfield, IN which is just outside Indy to the east.
@@LivingInIndianapolis Thank you for the reply. My girlfriend's family is in New Castle, and I've been told that Muncie was a popular city to visit for New Castle residents.
@@breaktheloop Yes. Muncie is larger and just to the north. Ball State University is there as well.

I use to work in Carmel back in 1999. At first I wasn't too impressed as it was just another town to me back then. However, ever since then I've grown to appreciate the place. I must say Carmel has come a long way. Use to live in rich areas like Boca Raton and have lived near Palm Beach (Beverly Hills of Florida) where there are multi million dollar homes aka billionaires row. This coming from someone who once lived in a 3 million dollar home surrounded by beautiful custom stoned walls. Based on what I've seen I have to give credit to Carmel. It really has out done itself. The downtown lay out is amazing. Last December I have taken my wife and her family to the Christkindlmarkt. My wife and I go to Christkindlmarkt just about every year. When it comes to Fishers's downtown I did not find as impressive as downtown Carmel. It does not have a single building that is as architecturally significant as the Palladium even though it has an ampitheater. Downtown Carmel seems have more dense development with more amenities at street level. Even though both cities have bike trails the Monon through Carmel is better I think. If I had to pick between the two on which one I would live in it would be Carmel.
Carmel does deserve some credit like you said. They've come a long way and have had a good vision to create a beautiful place and an experience to match. Fishers is a nice place too but hasn't grown up quite like Carmel has just yet. The newer downtown is getting better but will never be able to match what Carmel has.
What do you mean when you say the "home has character"?
Character is a subjective term as every single home in existence has it. It just depends on what one considers positive or negative. Character to me means the home is different from what I normally see every month and year. Many homes are somewhat easily forgotten or at least blend in with others. One with some character will "stick" in your memory. But, I'm referring to my memory and that may not be the same for someone else.

What about Westfield?
Westfield is awesome. Just lots of comparisons between Fishers and Carmel especially given they are nearly the same size. Westfield holds up against all of the northern Indy suburbs. I'll likely have a comparison video with Westfield involved in the future.
Living In Indianapolis My son has lived in Westfield for about15 years- I live in NC but have seen so much growth in the Indy area in that time!
