Hi Matt, Thanks for another fine lesson! Which part of the hand is best for hitting an attacker to make them drop a weapon? A friend who dies HEMA says base of the thumb, but his opponents wear armored gauntlets. Assuming our attacker is not the Green Knight, aim for the fingers, back of the hand or base of the thumb? Or just swing for the fences and take what you get?
