I know that plantain digests protein. The peel, leaves and unripe fruit all have that enzyme. If you eat too much you will get severe stomach pain as it digests the lining of your stomach. I speak from personal experience as I ate the papaya leaves (as an abortion attempt). Some wild figs also have the same enzyme. I would not feed this to animals , maybe the first few times is ok but too many times and too much can injure the stomach lining (if you experience this pain after eating papaya leaf or peels eat meat it helps dilute the enzyme so it eats the meat instead of your stomach lining). Please please dont feed it to animals. (I was in so much pain,. I did eat a lot, in small amounts it can be medicinal helpful for ailments like acid reflux and cancer)
