VERY RARE Monarch II FAIL…

- This machine could not figure out what it wanted to do! Told us to pull forward while spraying us with what looked like spot free or a rinse. Usually they give you a good moment to get in the correct position but this one gave up early in the process. My guess would be a very sensitive treadle.

I’m glad you got this video. I’ll make time to visit it soon before it’s inevitably closed or replaced. This same issue happened to me years ago. It’s a common cable issue fixed by an occasional reset. It loses power, and crashes. The parts for these have been NLA for a very long time, too many of them being entirely out of service. As far as I know, this is the only one left in FL other than an out-of-service unit at Sunoco in Miami.
It did what’s infamously known as the “emergency rinse.” The machine is programmed to do that in case of an error. Peak 1990’s technology!

Hey I’m curious, why did you say the BIGIRON rare car wash video is gone for ever/demolished?
I’ll have to check when I get the chance. Adding videos to playlist on mobile is annoying at times due to it adding to most recent playlists most of the time and it sometimes bugs or lags out on the menu.

I didn’t bother with a refund. It was only $7 and i don’t think it was owned by the oil change place next door.
