    Those Norma have been getting good reviews for the past few years. Seems they steperd up their QC on their bullets. Good review and shooting, cant wait for the hunt video. That 6.5 prc will do the job nicely on any deer. Take care you 2, be safe in the woods, the ticks are something fierce this year.

      They sure have! And thank you! Can’t wait to take it to the hunting woods.

    Another very informative and entertaining video, thanks. Very consistent performance between the rounds. I handload about 70% of what I shoot, and just for my three 30-06, I have three different loads for best results. They all perform better with different loads. Thanks for sharing, be well my friends.

    Just a note on the LHT, I've had 2 of them.
    On anything above 10 power the eye box is TIGHT and the light transmission SUX, it gets so dark that it's almost useless
    Now you might blame that on the 42mm objective, but I've used LPVOs with 24mm objectives that piss all over the LHT in terms of light transmission. Do yourself a favor and pick one up and look through it outside in natural light, not under the shops bright leds.

      I don't think it's the gun I've watched a few of your videos now and you shoot the sako and the patriot just as well and the patriot didn't even fit you.
      I got a great deal on the Bergara Crest and picked one up in .308I hope it shoots like yours!

      @moanamason2454 😊 I’ve definitely been shooting a lot the past few years. The brakes and suppressors help a lot.
      I hope your Crest shoots as well, too! I have heard IF there are any accuracy issues, it’s with the .308, BUT the rest are awesome.

    Just curious about the price difference in the ammo, all shot good but at what cost for half inch or less ?

    • @ReviewThisThing

      There is a definite difference. The Pendleton Hornady ELD-X is $69.00/box, and the factory load is around $50/box depending on where you buy it. (In 6.5 PRC)

    Man I just can’t like the eldx. People seem to not realize it is for long distance hunting and fragments up close. But super accurate bullet for sure.

    • @ReviewThisThing
      @ReviewThisThing  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What’s the ideal distance to use it?

    • @mr.mr.3301

      @@ReviewThisThing I watched the whole Hornady podcast on the eldx. They tell you that it was designed to expand at lower velocities. Meaning at distances. They also admit that within a hundred yards or so it may not stay together. Mason leather on TH-cam is doing some good gel tests on bullets you should check out. I can tell you for sure a friend shot a 6.5 creedmore on a buck at 60 yards. No pass through so no blood. They found bullet fragments in the other side of the hide. In that prc I’d personally choose something tougher but it may not be as accurate. Bonded and copper are the toughest bullets to be had.

      They are very soft for sure. Inside 100 yards I’ve seen several come apart with limited penetration on shoulder shots. I’m sure they work much better from 300 yards out and further. Where I hunt a lot of shots are pretty close, so there are other bullets I prefer. The ELD-X is very accurate without a doubt though.

    So the advertising is 2953fps and you getting 2817fps average, smh.... Or you're setting at a 100yards average? Most people go by muzzle velocity...

    • @ReviewThisThing
      @ReviewThisThing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That 2817 is muzzle velocity. I’m sure you already know this, but the velocity listed on boxes of ammo is typically measured out of a 24” barrel in ideal conditions. The Crest in 6.5 PRC has a 20” barrel, and according to what I’ve read, you can expect to lose about 25 fps per inch shorter barrel. So, the fastest you might possibly get out that gun is 2853.
      Then possibly some decrease is fps because of varying conditions. And supposedly barrels can start speeding up as you shoot them more. We haven’t measured it lately to be able to tell you that, though.
      But, yes - expect 125-175 fps slower than what the box says.
