I have this car. The tires work well on all surfaces, but they struggle on the polished concrete in my parking garage. The 144001 has 12mm wheel hexes so you can use most wheels that work with 1/10 scale cars. I have a set of on-road slick tires that work awesome on said parking garage floor.
@@ll-WOW-ll the new version of the 144001 comes with a 2600mah battery. It is the largest 2s battery that can physically fit on the chassis and the straps that come with the car are too short to secure it. The one I got about eight months ago came with a 1500mah 2s battery, and I would get about 7-8 minutes of runtime from it. I bought some 2200mah 2s packs and i get around 10 minutes or more on those depending on how hard you thrash it. Hope this helps.
Lol, yea, they have crashed a few, but to be young my boys actually have very good rc control. My seven year old is awesome at ramping, better than most adults I see at the rc track. After all, they had me as a dad to learn from💪🏼💪🏼😂
These cars are fairly cheap to fix, as long as you don't mind waiting for shipping from China. Parts ordered from inside the US have a premium, but are still fair imo.

Is this one better offroad than the Xinlehong Q902? I saw that you made a video about that one as the best rc car under 100, so I want to know which is better in your opinion. I'm wanting to do it on dirt, beach, and sand dunes, as well as rocky offroad Thank you
I would say for your needs go for Q902, the 144001 is better suited to onroad, but the Q902 with it's bigger tires will be better over grass rocks, and should have better grip on sand
Hi, I'm totally new to RC, I've ordered one of these which will be arriving later this week. I've done some research into batteries and chargers, and come to the conclusion I'd like a venom duo lipo charger. Unfortunately they seem out of stock until mid May. Can I safely use this with the stock charger without risk of fire/burning the house down? Where do you store/charge you batteries? Thanks!
Awesome choice of car AND i have full set of upgrades on order. As for charger venom dual is a good choice as it will see you into your future rc’s as you upgrade. The one thing I wish I’d done early on is bought a decent charger as I just wanted money by not doing so
Great review, thanks. I was looking at the A959b but I think I'm going with this one. Before I order, can you confirm the 6S battery fits and does it make the buggy perform better or just last longer? The battery you provided a link to doesn't have a dean's plug - do you recommend a different battery or just buying an adaptor? Thanks for your feedback!
Hi a 6S battery won't fit the A959b without a lot of serious work! The batteries I recommend below are ones we use across a range of cars not just this one. A good 3S pack 1500mah is available from banggood for under $15 here's the one I use on my own 144001 - www.banggood.com/custlink/3m3KzRDLbG
Apologies Christian just answered your other comment. The 144001 is awesome and whilst I said Q902 over the 903, I'd say if you're running on blacktop or loose dirt and want max speed then the 144001 is the one to go for as no other car under $100 comes close to that 40mph top speed on 3s
Driftomaniacs thanks for coming back to me buddy, I would usually just quickly google that kind of question but I was watching you when I shouldn’t have been...(at work) lol. You’ve sold me on this, and the UK price of £57 ($74) seems too good to miss out on. Thanks again .
with the lipo battery in it, you will have full power until it takes a sudden dip, at this point it needs charging, there's no audible alarm etc but there's not on most RC cars
Indeed I have had one of those in and the 'B' version is a great car, I'd have done more with it but no way to put a larger battery in the 959B although it's a 'pocket rocket' for sure.
I always remember them as540,sthe motor I’m talking about. Yet I hear mostly the British people calling it a 550 no big deal but I’m like it doesn’t sound right it’s a 540 . Well maybe while I was out of the hobby they came out with a 550 motor just google it 🙄
But it’s only quoted as 30-40kmg top speed it’s more of a monster truck. I’m thinking that’s similar spec to the Q903 as it has 390 sized motor and this has 550 one. Is it brushless? Nice truck and looks like a mini xmaxx but it’s all plastic and this mainly metal
No offence but you've not driven one, not many cars you could buy for $75 that do 40mph.... Or with $30 spent on a cheap brushless system can hit over 80mph, but if this doesn't appeal to you then I guess it is boring....

It can be found on eBay for a little bit less (than regular price), like $78 or so. Just do a little bit of searching
And it’s still a good car today. Picked mine up a few months ago and love it.
Those tires would be perfect for loose dirt, probably not asphalt. Great video! I will be purchasing this car

Looks like u can cut the vents out next to windshield for air cooling motor and lipo
Kieren I'm just about to go out with it so i'll take a look at that.
Idk about 3s someone burned is esc when he tried. The car has a servo saver who is adjustable too and remove the plastic film of the wing

It's super easy to make it brushless and then you're looking at a 60+mph rc car!
Can you run a 3s looo in it with stock motor and everything
Is the Xinlehong 9136 better than the A959B
Love your videos! Really helpful as buying guides!
What's it called to buy it
I love their display
How long does the battery last?
A good 20mins as stock as it's so light
Battery time while running steady? On average??
20mins even going hard at it
