@hemant-w6i I didn't say it's right or wrong, you're the one who's "judging" me lol. I can spot a fake accent when I hear one. The accent is fake af and you can't criticize someone pointing the obvious. You don't have to justify it on their behalf. Don't be a moral police.
Its crazy a lot of our own people hating on our own...on accents. If you have not lived here and been around, you won't understand I guess. Most of us have been here for over a decade or two, and we simply adapted. Our life revolves around people who speak English and we just picked up the lingo. Same for British nepalis or Australian nepalis, when you hear and speak the language, eventually you pick it up. There is no faking an American accent, you simply listen, learn and adapt. I absolutely get it that there is no reason for explicit language that can be avoided. Especially at this time, when most of us work in corporate America, and our kids are speaking English, less Nepali, we communicate more in English than Nepali, honestly, its simply become a habit, we are so used to it. Lets spread positivity and less hate on our own people. We are literally first generation Nepalis now, trying to make a better life for our kids and people, so lets congratulate other Nepalis on their success instead....There are and will be a lot of young/old fellow nepalis watching this worldwide, wondering what and how its like here, so kudos to the guys for making this video and sharing their experiences.

0:52 Faking an accent, like saying ‘Rickesh’ instead of ‘Rikesh,’ just to fit in feels unnecessary and forced. I understand when people who’ve lived in the US for a long time or moved here young naturally develop an accent, but intentionally faking it is another story. In a video meant for a Nepali audience, where most people speak or understand Nepali, it would’ve made more sense to communicate authentically in Nepali. Embracing our roots and being genuine always resonates better than trying to force an accent to fit in.

There is no need to be embarrased about it. Peace.
