I just love the way you explain things. So simple, clear and concise. You are a blessing to the makeup world and all of your viewers. And speaking of viewers you listen to all requests. Please know how much I (and I know I speak for many others) appreciate you and all of your hard work. ❤
Thank you Alex, you are the first person who explains the colours and placement clearly 🤩. We can see you are a real painter and you know what you are doing 🙂.
Alex, you are an amazing teacher in all areas of makeup application and why to use certain colors for certain areas. I nowI understand so much better about the differences in contour and bronzer. I am faif skinned and natural blonde, I will be purchasing that contour you love so much. Thank you once again. Your voice is so relaxing. 😊
FABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS... Bravo to you for taking this topic and explaining it so clearly. This was one of the best videos that I have watched in such a long time. Love your demeanor, your thoroughness, and that you laugh at yourself. Looking forward to watching so many prior videos that you've put out and the ones in the future. BTW, I think Kackie is fabulous too. I watch her all the time. You should do a video together on color and shape. Thanks again.
Could you do a video of you actually doing all the things you say you wouldn’t do for your face shape? I get it in theory. But it would help me conceptualize. ❤
I've not heard Kevin Aucoin's The Sculpting powder mentioned in ages. It was my first foray into contouring (other than subtle contouring and highlighting with my RCMA cream mini palette). It is VERY forgiving and beginner friendly. I'm going to need to pull it out of my kit just for fun as I don't do elaborate looks often anymore. But it's worth the $. 10/10 Recommend. ETA: Thank you for the time spent educating and demonstrating this concept in a very relatable way! ❤
I am the one who said to someone not to use bronzer to contour and she said it works for her. Now I know where to perfectly contour on myself and the shade to order through Anastasia Beverly hills. Thank you kindly.. I would like to ask you if you could do a video on when to use white eyeshadow base, skin toned eyeshadow base and a black eyeshadow base. Especially white vs nude ?
off topic, but your lighting really give you a realistic representation of skin, I don't know how to explain it but it really mirror very well what we see in real life, kudos to you!
Brilliant. So thorough. I have narrow face and need to create fullness of cheeks. Bronzer helpful. I am very fair, and realised dont need more shadows after your explaination
Thank you so much Alex! I'm so grateful that your videos guided me and after a while I confirmed I'm light olive 😅 it was hard for me bc my eyes aren't trained. So THANK YOU ❤ I was looking forward to your latest recommendations for contour and bronzers for us olive people😭
Hi Alex! New subbie here and I have to tell you that this is THE BEST video I have ever watched that completely describes the contouring and bronzing techniques. I always end up with a hot muddy mess every time I try to contour and bronze, so I just stopped doing it because I could never get it to look the way I wanted it. Your video made me want to try it again! I’m a lady on a budget so do you have any drugstore recommendations? That would be so incredibly helpful! Thank you for sharing all your tips!
Is not that I necessarily use all these products every time I do my makeup, however I purchased all these different products randomly and thank you for showing best use practices
what i experienced when i contoured the lower part of my nose (where the sseptum part iss until the tip , and this part isn´t long on myself or protruding) but if i contour it it throws a shadow making it look like i have a way looonger nose, when in reality my nose has no elongated part there. Since i saw this on photos that contour didn´t do what i wanted but made my nose look even disadvantegous i got very critical with contour tips from youtube videos (not thi one tho) because its so different how it looks on everyone. Also difficult to understand that a shadow can sometime push back (under chin) but sometim enhance things (under nose, under Lips) . It even gets more complicated because sometimes applied to the highest point (above the upper lip) it makes it appear bigger even though its a dark color! So in my opinion its not only the colors we use and or the placement which deceides whether something gets enhanced or pushed back, its also about where we apply it and which facial features god has given us. Does that make sense?
I bought that Sephora contour stick because of your recommendation. I used it to create a zombie look for Halloween. It’s was spectacular, everyone said I should be in special effects 😂. In that instance I did use it on my face as well but you’re absolutely correct under normal circumstances I wouldn’t put it on my cheekbones etc
I have no idea choosing contour and bronzer shades. I have a few Hourglass palettes and never really know which of the bronzer ones to use. 🤣. I just blend them with the blushers but would like to know what I’m doing better
This was a brilliant masterclass in helping me to understand the selectiveness in usage between the 2. Thank you so much!!! Time to step my contour game up!! 🫶🫶🫶
I love all your videos and have learned so much. Can you tell me if any of these contours your using have good staying power? I want a contour but not sure which to get.
Hi Alex, would the Makeup By Mario Softsculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer be considered as a bronzer? He has 3 different products that seem like they could be a bronzer: the Skin Enhancer (cream formula in a pan), Softsculpt Shaping Stick (cream in a stick formula) and Softsculpt Bronzing and Shaping Serum (liquid with a doefoot). I am quite pale, so I am very skittish about using bronzer. And I never use contour. Thanks!😊
🧚♀️Hey Alex, I've been getting breakouts in my cheek/contour area. I'm Latina so when my acne is healing it gets pretty dark. How can I keep these blemishes/marks covered up while not making them look darker bc of the contour I'm adding on top??? It's like my acne eats up concealer but not the contour🤷♀️🤔😮💨 Please and thank you!!!🫶
Have you tried westman atelier in biscuit? If so what are your thoughts in terms of shade? Do you think it compares to Fenty matchstick in Amber? Or abh fawn? Those types of shades are typically what I end up using for just a brontour effect.. as long as it isn’t too pink or red especially in the winter months .
As much as I love these videos (and I will always follow Alexandra Anele and Kackie Reviews Beauty), does anyone know any darker skin lovelies to follow for this kind of content. I love TheFancyFace (my skintone match) and Alicia Archer, but they don't do content like this. I find myself guessing how this all translates on darker olive skin. My techniques have gotten soo much better since subscribing, but very rarely do I get the colors right
Hi!Have you ever achieved to kinda completely eraze dark circles? Like absolutely even? I'know, that there's no point in it but from all the people in the world only you could do it.
I have a longgg narrow face. I contour the very top of my forehead and mAlmost my entire jawline. I think this also h ides the it of sagging skin on the side. Does this sound like proper placement? Thank you!!❤
Irony at its finest; My entire life, I've hated my slightly 'ski-sloped' nose. Now it's what ppl are trying to make their noses do. I've finally accepted my nose lmfao.
OK this is something I do not understand. Putting a gray shadow underneath your jawline looks great on screen but won’t that look weird in real life??? Won’t you just look like you have a beard?
Getting your endorsement on my undertone video is so validating! I always hope I'm doing right by the uncommon undertones like yours. ❤❤❤ thank you!
I love it when my 2 favorite creators are in sync!
my technique has improved so much from content from you, Alex and Jackie. you're all so great :) thanks for all the time you put into creating,
I need these long format Videos. I am an ageing millenial with a makeup obsession
I feel seen 😂
Girl same!!!!
Omg it’s so comforting to know I’m not the only person just double chinning it up whenever I contour 😂
😂

I love that you do a mix of long and short form videos--I ALWAYS have time for your channel xx
40+ minutes of Alex is just what the doctor ordered ❤

Brilliant. So thorough. I have narrow face and need to create fullness of cheeks. Bronzer helpful. I am very fair, and realised dont need more shadows after your explaination
Such a great tutorial and detailed explanation! Thank you SO much, Alex! I love your new bangs, too! ❤

I love professor Alex ♡
She’s she’s our fave
I am obsessed with that background colour!!!
What an excellent demonstration! Thank you. ❤

You are such a gifted professor :-) Can you now teach me.......everything, please?
I learned a lot today and will be reviewing again to reinforce…thank you! ❤
Such a great in-depth video!! Thank you 🙏 😊
That sephora stick was a life saver! Only cream contour I could find for me
40+ min! Yessss. I need Alex to read the back of shampoo bottles for 6 hrs.
😂
Amazing as always ❤

omg I ❤ this outfit
This was an amazing video! Super helpful. Thank you so much!
Graciasssss Alex ❤
Tes cheveux sont tellement beaux! Un dirait un petit chelsea. Super cute! 🤘
Very well explained ☺️

I love this hair and outfit combination. It looks like such a tinkess and classic look 😍
Thank you!!!! Finally and much needed!!!!
Alex, thank you so much 🙏❤️
1:50 Awww she meant jawline…😮
Took away a couple “ah-ha” moments. Yay. Valuable video.
Have a good one🎨✨⭐️
Will you please now do an updated blush and highlighter video?? :3

Je préfère le bronzer, je n'utilise pas le contour pour mon makeup. Merci Alexandra🤩🤩🤩
I. Love. Your. Videos.
Great video!
Added to my “Alex Makeup” playlist.

Great video
“Hold on its fking me up”
See this is why I love you
The Makeup by Mario is on the list but you didn’t mention it-I’d love to hear how you use it
I know the difference but I tapped the note anyways because I just knew there was going to be loads of technical information
The hair is giving Linda Evangelista in that one shoot
I love all your videos and have learned so much. Can you tell me if any of these contours your using have good staying power? I want a contour but not sure which to get.
Is it okay if I use eyeshadow for contouring? 👀
Of course! If you found the perfect color in an eyeshadow go for it! I’ve definitely don’t that in the past 🙌🏼

that was great
Alex! I just saw a short with Painted by Spencer and he was using your brush!!!!
Really??? 😭😭😭
He was using it for highlighting 🩷

"I like to kinda double chin it up"
yuh gotta
can u plz review sheglam products?
do you have any tips for lighting while youre doing your makeup? I struggle to be precise about where my contour is going when my light isnt great
Hi!Have you ever achieved to kinda completely eraze dark circles? Like absolutely even? I'know, that there's no point in it but from all the people in the world only you could do it.
not dropping kackie’s government name 😭😭😭 only real fans will know 🤟😤😤

How do I become a channel member?

How do I contour my jawline when it’s very defined and too big for my liking?
33 secondes ago! 😮Well hi!
Oh hey there 🙃
Neapolitan on your cheeks!
I hear contouring is out of style now
And...?
OK this is something I do not understand.
Putting a gray shadow underneath your jawline looks great on screen but won’t that look weird in real life???
Won’t you just look like you have a beard?
Depends on your application
Probably too gray toned for you, go a smidge warmer
Thank you ❤ such a good video! Yay! Love @kackiereviewsbeauty
❤❤❤
