Fell for Raden the moment her debut stream started but it’s such a shame that many people don’t know her aside from her smoking, gambling, drinking and being perpetually broke due to Nihongo gatekeeping.
This girl is cultured. Like, actually cultured. She talks of history and art in her streams, not just in “oh i like this, i like that” passing but in complete detail. She knows about the technicality of arts, is into photography herself, and even more, she is a nationally certified curator. She also goes traveling from time to time and one story she shared was when she went to Arles, France because she wanted to see the famous cafe Van Gogh painted. Her passion for art goes as deep as her vices and it’s a shame that these moments get overlooked by international fans because they don’t get clipped and translated as much.
This is probably also why she’s the most subscribed in regloss and second most superchatted in Japan for September. Her entertaining passionate talks match well with her highly likable personality. I love her so fkn much.

@@velveteensallet949 the clipper I mentioned just uploaded a clip of her going on a tangent about the history of air conditioning and development of post-war homes in Japan when she spotted the outdoor AC unit in a horror game. She’s a real unique treat.

I suspect that Hajime is one of those cases where someone has a dialect so *_thicc_* that they're hard to understand (because honestly, sometimes it really does sound like she's not even speaking _Japanese),_ but when she's singing, she switches to Standard (dialect-free) Japanese.
You can still it in her singing (at least I can) but it's greatly reduced. In "Shunkan Heartbeat" I couldn't really hear it at all.

One of the convenient things about having a JP friend who's balls deep into vtubers is that i can ask him quite easily whether her voice is a lisp or dialect.
In this case, it isn't a dialect at all, she just has a strong lisp. And we both agree it's adorable
If you follow this or see this, Hajime can speak normally if she tries, however it's easier to speak in her own dialect. But here's the interesting part Marine is able to understand her perfectly while she speaks not only in her Dialect but also rapidly in her dialect (If anyone has ever heard Marine get fiesty you'd know she can speak quickly too)

You like her so much that you send superchat from your pocket money. But it's turned out that she is your big sis, AND not only that, she caught you red handed and she is laughing at you ON STREAM. Summary of ReGloss:
Hajime - Language: Holobaby Tier 100 (Worse than Miko and Luna). Has a really good singing voice despite sounding not having a tongue. Has the worst win-loss ratio among members.
Ao - Ikemen Pon. Cool with Cute gap. Hajime's primary translator. Cool voice and is always the one leading the group.
Kanade - Kusogaki with Extreme Pon. Aqua's extroverted daughter. Dad level jokes which only she laughs, JUST LIKE AQUA. 0.75x speed with 200% volume. Power house.
Raden - Cultured Woman. Smoker, alcoholic, and gambling addict. More grounded than the above three, but would raid your house if you have alchohol. Is actually Pekora in disguise.
Ririka - Extroverted Gyaru (She denies it while looking like Marin Kitagawa and has a history of wearing an "I'm a B*tch" T-Shirt in public). The "Real" Gamer girl, madlad played DDLC first thing. Also probably rich. Got way too much physics.
YAGOO - A poor man who is now coping over his new "idol" group.
Favorite comment I saw about Hajime's speech was - she speaks like Chloe's hand writing

Hajime is harder to understand than Miko or Luna. Way harder. She slurs her words and often runs them together at high speed.
Meanwhile Kanade is easy mode since she speaks at 0.75x by default lol.
That's why she's the first jp holomem that I've watched live on how slow she speak, it's so soothing to hear❤❤❤

Raden is the first vtuber I personally felt connected to. I like a lot of others, and Polka is still my #1, but Raden is so relatable for me personally that she immediately became my #3 from debut.
Everything after has just cemented her in her place for me.

Hajime just has a extra thicc accent but it's capable of perfect pronunciation. She beat laplus in a tongue twister battle. I wish I could watch them but there's this thing called a hard limit that I'm up against on who I can watch closely. My journey through the rabbit hole has brought many oshi, starts with Lamy then goes in order of Coco, IRyS, Sana, mumei, Kronii, Fauna, and finally the newest addition Nerissa. Which for me means I join their members and buy all their merch.
Hajime’s speaking being described as talking like Chloe writes kills me, lmao.
My favorites are Ririka and Kanade. Ririka's the gamer of ReGloss, she has a choco type voice and is very energetic in streams. Kanade's the funniest with the singing voice of an angel and her interaction with chat is like Ui-mama, alot of banter and trash talk.
do not forget the hilarity of her emptying her oxygen tank in the middle of 10 song karaoke streams

Although it's not too frequent, Ririka does whip out the English from time to time. She's also said from the beginning that she loves having overseas fans, and likes seeing and reading English comments.
The claim that Dev_is and regloss will focus on music and video is
pretty funny considering that Ririka has already had a stream where she bought about 40 different games and bundles on Steam

Hajime's speech is apparently a dialect.
Edit: After repeatedly listening to her speak, it sounds like Tōhoku dialect (東北方言), with a heavy lisp? Can't say for certain as I'm not great at recognizing dialects in the first place.
Also high possibility that her tongue is shorter, which affects some articulations.

Best debut was (for me) Kanade and Raden. Never have I been nearly killed by laugher during a debut stream. Don't get me wrong, every member of ReGloSS was very good and unique, but those two? man, I nearly pissed myself because of how much I was laughing.
I feel like Ririka and Raden are going to be the breakout hits for this gen. (Not that they aren't all very good talents) Ririka just seems like the one with the most energy for doing this and there's something about her personality that really pulls you in. Raden seems like she'll be the memelord that encourages a fanbase like Coco had though, and that has a power all its own.

Raden literally shot up to my #3 spot so fast. Just behind Polka and Aki.
It's actually Raden and Hajime. Raden leads in subs and sub growth while Hajime leads in total views and also 2nd in subs and sub growth (Socialblade, Socialcounts). The 2 girls were the standouts from day 1 and obviously their uniqueness gave them the edge. Ririka actually lags behind the rest in subs while Ao in views. Kanade stats put her in the middle of the group.

Ririka my beloved. Also I love the impression we all had of them being music focused. Then boom, Ririka is streaming 2 to 3 times a day, gaming, chatting, and eating. And they only debuted one song so far (not counting covers).

You think they can just release ONLY music and that’s the whole branch? Songs take TIME to produce. They obviously have to entertain people, Ririka is the outlier because she’s secretly an otaku who loves gaming, the rest of regloss are pretty much baby level when it comes to gaming (hence why they aren’t playing more “serious” games”) but to sit there and expect them to be dropping 100 songs day 1 is ridiculous.
Everyone is just looking for a reason to label them JP7.
They’re also are working on their 2nd group song (meanwhile gens who have been here for years might have 2 original songs in the 3-4 years they’ve been in Holopro).
I feel the the same about Raden, with how good her artist did she looks like a real freaking person, with the mask on.

I love Kanade. She's the meme queen, and I instantly subbed when I saw her language reveals, and the Kanade quiz.
How you can not like idol music, I'll never understand. But one day you might hear something you really like. You just gotta revel in the cuteness of it all.

Raden is just the Japanese version of a girlfailure(albeit a classy one) and as Joshiraku is like one of my top 5 anime of all time, I like the Rakugo vibes.

Not just you. Although I question if this is true. It could happen but with the situation when Aloe left and everything that followed in her life would make me wonder if she would return. Tbh, they're theoretically music-centric, but until now they only have released a couple songs. They're music centered in that probably Cover will cover (heh) the expenses for group songs, but I doubt they have paid for Kanade's music so far. Most of what they have streamed is regular streams LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.
The main distinction, for what I heard, is that Hololive's characters are that: a FANTASY character, most of the time. A few are more, let's call them, normal-looking (Matsuri, Haato), but most of the others are some fantasy or made up thing (animal girls) or some anime trope (Choco). DevIS will have "characters" that, of course, will not be the original members' names, but are going to be more in line with what their actual personality is. To a point, of course.

Ririka is a very good talker and does good noon talking streams. Feels a bit like a combo of Koyori, Marine and Haato.
Raden is the shittalker. The Polka of the group. She's an apprentice Rakugo artist. Rakugo is a type of comedy / monologue in Japanese culture that is basically someone performing themselves all the characters of a short clip, a bit like a sitcom, with usually some comic punchline at the end (Raden's first video was actually her performing one very famous Rakugo routine; people in the know caught on it), so she's a total weirdo (also drinks and smokes, the latter, I am sad for because I don't think she should); in any case, she does feel like a few women I have known in Japan, very much into having fun and not giving a shit. And last, Hajime is the Chuuni, the cute edgelord baby, who seems to speak in a weird dialect (can't pinpoint it, but wouldn't be surprised if it were somewhere like countryside Iwate or nearby, in the north), but it's an affected speech that she does only when she talks.
Who else here mistook this for a new Nijisanji branch coming out before reading the full title?

I'll admit, I mostly ignored their debuts. Advent just debuted recently and I'm still figuring them out, and they suddenly get another new gen out of nowhere. I don't have mental capacity to learn about them more.
