yes to be fair he only recorded drums for one song on loveless (only shallow) because of a sustained injury which caused him to be unable to record anymore. the rest of the drums is just samples
@Sam Wulfekotter I love this stupidly obvious comment every bozo makes on promotional vids. Say it with me... P R O M O T I O N A L ! See, it’s not a LIVE performance. Look now you’re slightly smarter and less painfully ironic. You’re welcome.
It's surreal to see them lip-synching. I saw MBV live just once, in LA, 1992, and this was the last song of the last encore at what was the last gig of an entire North American tour. The white noise section had reportedly been getting longer and longer over the years and up to 10 minutes but, according to a later magazine article, since it was the end of a tour, they decided to completely blow it out and never play it again. Just the white noise section alone was 22 MINUTES LONG (I even checked my watch)!! The whole song took 25 minutes!
I saw them that year also, in Glasgow, and still to this day I am not certain how I survived the boredom of all that elongated feedback. This is very subjective I know.
So much noise, distortion and so much resonance than spanish audio engineers prefered to make a playback performance (easier to handle) than deal with the true beauty of my bloody valentine
No, darling 🙈🙈. I'm Spanish and in this TV show everything was lipsync with playback when in the set. It was amazing anyway. I remember this moment. Must be 89 or 90. Also Megacity Four, The Telescopes..The Exploited !
Loveless tour 1993, few dates in France. Loudest mental fuckin gig i ever been to, it was nuts nuts nuts. Massive blob of sounds, blurry and fat roaring guitars, enormous joke and fat like a big truck rolling over your rrrringinnnggg ears (when your eardrums goes rrrrr it's no good haha), and few synth melodies above, trying to compete with what was left in terms of frequencies... I do noise myself and went to a tons of very crazy noise gigs in my life, but NOTHING came close to what i experienced with MBV. I was already in love with them since 87... thanks zillion times for that glorious moment
First time I ever heard it. It's really good. I missed the boat on these guys that's for sure. I must of heard a song by them back in the day and didnt care for it so never bothered to listen to them.
there are dreams, and there are reality/realities. thats it, nothing else. simple. reality is real and dreams are fluff, to be ignored. then, there are dreams about dreams about realities.... 🤔
I feel like this songs about a frustrated couple, a girl who wants something more based off their enthusiastic unrealistic expectations while the others motive was just sex, the guy leaves once the other person's sex drive disappears where it starts to become less passionate and says she might as well be dead, lifeless in bed. Each segment of the song is a part of an argument almost both snapping back at each other, I wanna hear more but they only wrote so many.
I love how MBV are such gods that they can make all that noise without being plugged in.
It is magic!
There is a big difference in energy in the front versus the back
you know it's weird when the fucking BASSIST has more energy than the lead guitarist ahahahaha, great song though
Aye 😄
It's because they have to look at their feet
Debbie means business, that's for dang sure.
Like a good mullet, business in front, party in back
Gotta give it up to Debbie and Colm for trying to sell this as playing live.
😅 do you know where the term shoegazing comes from?
It looks like the drummer is having the time of his life
Colm's manic energy is the one thing missing from loveless..
It is there in some songs@@MarioEpstein
yes to be fair he only recorded drums for one song on loveless (only shallow) because of a sustained injury which caused him to be unable to record anymore. the rest of the drums is just samples
The rhythm section and guitars accurately depict the difference between sativa and indica
Acid vs amphetamines
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Duuuude weeeeed lmao
I love performing without my instruments plugged in

It's ''live unplugged''. Don't ya realise?
Or sync
The Kinks did it before them. They even plugged they’re leads into each other’s guitars.

@@Snowleaf______________________ lol just gotta get lost in the noise man. definitely feel you though i can imagine it’d get boring
Ha, I was there! Fans crying in the bathroom, "How could they do this to us? We're their fans!" Aw.
Can’t believe to this day that I missed that gig :(
How's your hearing aid holding up? I said!!!.....
Shoegazing the best music 90s
you made me realise came out in 1988 tho

fake. they arent even plugged in so dont make this shit up lol
@@johnpickk7526 he is literally saying that this isn’t a live performance.

This is a TV show from Spain called, "Plastic". Thanks to that TV show, we got to know these influential bands in Spain.
Thanks for the video from the class of 88 OG MBV fans!

The stars of this vid are Colm and Deborah
I couldn't take my eyes off them when I saw them live a couple years ago. Debbie in particular has massive stage presence.
pre-loveless kevin looks like an entirely different entity

That drummer Colm is working his arse off on those drums that sound like paper.
the editing on this goes mad hard!!
Ah yes, back when Kevin Shields was so powerful the pedalboard was his fingers...
Tone is in the fingers.
これほどカッコいい曲に出会ったことがない。狂ったように聞いてた。
이렇게 멋진 노래를 본 적이 없습니다. 미친듯이 듣고 있었어
I saw them live at Coachella and they played You Made me Realise for 20+ min. I thought their drummer would need an ER after that
Are they on the set of Jerry springer

They’re cool they remind me of sonic youth
Their quietest live performance, so far
the noise part here sounds like wind, awesommeee
*This shoegazey-punk song is so fucken wild and I adore it so damn much!!*
Uno de los mejores programas de televisión. Plàstic!
Bellissima! Le influenze degli stogies risuonano quasi in ogni nota
I saw them play this at the Santa Monica Civic Center a decade or so ago. I’m certain the space shuttle launches were quieter.
The editor got really into this set at 1:38 hahaha
Lmao damn. Those cuts
It’s awesome
GOD!
El realizador es lo más.
Hubo un tiempo en la televisión Española en el que se emitía música de calidad...hubo un tiempo.....

Unplugged live on Plastic
This song and this video is the one that convince me MBV is a punk rock band.
How about a 60’s garage-psych band ?
MBV meets El Chavo del 8
Oh cause of the barrels and stairs on the stage?
These guys are so good, they deserve a better production, i can barely understand what they are singing.
Dave Torres funny joke😂
