I had my Fox DPS blow out after 1 month. It wouldn't hold air. My bike was under warranty, and Fox asked my LBS what my weight is. When they realized I'm at 230lbs they set it up for my weight. It feels better than my Fox Factory Float X. Fox said they make them for the average rider not heavy riders. So if you're a heavy person have it set up for your weight. It's a game changer!
I have a newer Spectral 125 (125mm of rear suspension). I upgraded my DT Swiss 350 hub to 54t of engagement and I don't notice any pedal kickback. I also have a Berd Spoke wheelset with an Industry 9 Hydra hub which has a ridiculous amount of engagement points, I could feel a small amount of kick back when riding really aggressive stuff. But it certainly wasn't enough to matter in my opinion.
I have a 99 Stump with a Manitou fork and luckily, the elastomers, original, are still in great shape. I have found replacement elastomer but the rest of the parts cannot be found. Already replaced the Vanila shock, couldn't find seals for it. Hope to keep this fun little bike going till I stop too.

How come mtb forks aren't built like motorcross forks where they don't require frequent maintenance such as every 50 hours of riding. I could be wrong but I don't see motorcross bikes having their forks regularly serviced such as mtb forks. 2. When one services their MTB fork, one has to change the oil in the damper. I've got a fox 34 and while I can't remember of the top of my head the grade of oil that needs to be used, I remember seeing the same grade of oil used in motorcycle forks. Question is could you use a motorcycle suspension oil with the same grade in your MTB fork? Reason being is that there are a lot of motorcycle workshops where I live compared to mtb shops and it is easier to get fork oils for motorcycles vs specialty fox fork oils
YES, ridiculous service intervals on MTB shocks and forks are proving to me one thing, they either want this ... Or they can't get decent engineers and materials. You know what's the answer...😂 2.5w oil with low sulfur, like Lucas S1 or even some chain part store brands will do for oil, don't be that fool 😂
I have pretty much the same shock and the exact same issue but only after 5 months of riding, albeit quite a bit of riding. I just performed a 50 hour service on it and now its back to holding air pressure again. I do have to say the service kit is fairly expensive for what it is.
Servicing it was super easy as long as you have some basic tools like a vise. Definitely would not pay anyone to do a 50 hour service on the shock. But to each their own.
I broke 5 ribs on New Year’s Day from a pedal strike on a root. I don’t blame the cranks or low BB. I got lazy at the end of my ride. The root that I tore out of the ground, now lives in my front yard.
Suspension service intervals are greatly exaggerated and set to sell expensive seal kits and oils. Basic lower leg and aircan cleaning can keep forks and shocks working for years. Seals in the airspring and damper work in a fairly clean and well lubricated environment and can last for years before needing replacing. Spend your money wisely!

Over time do softer compounds harden and lose their gripiness? And does riding in hot/cold climates make a difference? Or... do they last as long as there are still knobs on the tires?!

I tryed to loosen it but it resulted in damaging it so i took the whole caliper apart to investigate what happened and the other 3 pistons were cracked on the inside (oil side). How does that happen? #AskGMBNTech I ride a Giant Reign 1 (AL) from 2015, it came with the 2013/2014 rockshox pike and that's a 160 fork but with the turn of a dial it transforms into a 140 on the climbs. I used a shock pump for the first time to put more air into my rear shock, i did it wrong and now have a secondary chamber pull of air and no way to get it out. I've lost all sag..i rang a shop and they don't want to touch it. I found another shop but it's going to be a 2 week wait. Can the shock be unbolted from one end, and then unscrewed to slowly release the pressure inside? The shock still holds air of course, after removing air from primary chamber the shock is very stiff, but compresses when riding but the bounce is too severe. Have you guys ever had this happen? Thanks for your time! 🙏

Rockshox stuff is so easy to service, you can pick up the service kits cheap if you shop around, oils too. It's £120 for a service so I'd rather service it myself..I'd never buy fox again as they're a pain in the ass to service..If you got fox then yes I'd take it to a shop.
And regarding the wheel spinning on the rack: Imagine the forces that make it spin, then apply them to the fixed wheel. Would you rather let them get distributed among the balls and the balls get lubricated by moving grease around, or would you rather let them press out the grease of the contact and push one-two balls constantly in one spot? Moral of the story: fix your bike inside the car. Better for fuel economy too

It's a zoom fork but I cant find it on the web, so even if there is a limiter I do not know what oil to put back on. Also I'm looking to upgrade the tires(19mm inner) How wide is it possible to go while still riding safe(the tire blowing off the wheel)? Thinking about 2.3 inch tires.

This is the problem with mountain biking....these bikes cost thousands of dollars...you only get a couple months before they break. Also - you can get FOX shocks for a truck for the same price as some of these little bike shock !!!! Make it make sense.....

On the last guy with the fork.... my 2009 Stumpjumper Fox Talas RC (adjustable on the fly travel fork) died. I bought a modern RockShox Judy with the axle to crown that was close to what the old fork had in my prefered travel. It is straight steerer and bolted right up. it is a 27.5 fork, not a 26... but the fork bridge only sits about 3/4 inches higher, so it doesn't even look odd now that I am running a 2.2 instead of 1.9 front tire. Done and Done.
I've had mixed opinions on getting shocks/forks serviced. I've sent Fox forks to TF Tuned previously and was completely happy at the service. But, just a couple of years ago I sent a Fox shock I had on my Specialized Big Hit for a service as it leaked all the oil out. Got it back from TF Tuned and it was basically ruined. You couldn't adjust the spring collar without using a pipe wrench, it was perfect before I sent it. I'd buy a new shock if it was me

About deflating forks for transit, the older ones with open oil bath tend to leak without air pressure, compressing the seals.

Had the same thing happen with my RS-1. LBS sent it to the factory and they no longer service them :(
