Our worst fight about rc ever. In this epic husband vs wife flight video, Abby just couldn't get this plane in the air. Although everyone fights and bickers, it is important to know that Nate, in all his disbelief, was still encouraging Abby to fly. Abby, however, just was having an off day of flying. An off rc plane day happens to us all, and the most important thing to remember after a crash is to just keep flying. This hobby is all about fun, but crashes do happen. As long as you get the glue gun out, repair, and fly again, that is all that matters.

Abby, I FEEL FOR YOU!!! Trying to compensate for taking off with a different aircraft that isn't like anything you have flown before, can be very challenging. Especially, when you are being filmed and the pressure is on! I encourage you guys to substitute "stupid things" with "mistakes or errors." It just sounds less punitive. Kudos for posting this video with all of it's surprises and triumphs! Love you and what you do! JP♥️⚓s

Don’t beat yourself up Abby. You lost all confidence then sunk into panic mode and then couldn’t remember how to fly. You’ve flown the Valiant. Ironically valiant means possessing or showing courage or determination. Panic mode caused you to forget what you knew about flying. I’m glad to see you powered through and successfully flew and landed the big orange plane. Keep flying . May God bless you, Nate, and Amelia.

Abbey, do not be embaressed, I have crashed so many planes beyond repair, part of the hobby. So glad you got behind the sticks even though you did not want to. All that matters is you have fun. I like watching you fly because we are on a similar skill level, Nate makes everything look easy.

Anyone who has ever flown RC or even control line aircraft has crashed. It's guaranteed! If this is the first time you've flown a tail dragger, it's kind of to be expected as it feels very different from tricycle gear. But you got through it even as panic stricken as you were. You done good, Abby!

Aww, guys, I wouldn't even call that a fight, y'all handled a very frustrating day fairly well. Nobody was out of line and it was good that you kept trying. Waiting too long to "Get Back on the Horse" may have made it to hard to ever ride again. Excellent video, thanks for sharing the whole stories.

Nate is 100% right! WE all need to see the REALITY of RC flying. We all make mistakes, and especially the beginners need to see that rough landings and crashes really ARE a part of the hobby. Love your videos, and Abby is already an accomplished RC pilot. Keep up the great work!
Oh man, you said just give it throttle, "don't touch anything." - Abby follows instructions exactly plane crashes- Nate "obviously you need to give it 5% elevator." 😠 . . . Really? Oh man, what a party!
Don’t give Nate a hard time? No way, lol. Nate, calm cool and collected and convey what you do instinctively as a great pilot. I know as I suffer from that same shortcoming when teaching at times, ha! Great video you two!

Abby, you did a great job, It is hard to fly a new plane when you are nervous, I want you to know, you are the reason I watch your channel, I enjoy watching Nate fly, and listening to him ramble on, but you dear sweet lady are why I watch. We all crash, and anyone who say’s they have never crashed, well, they just are’nt being honest. Just remember, FLY IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT. Having a fun enjoyable time is what this hobby is all about. I love that y'all show the 'outtakes.' I'm not being facetious: It helps me seeing people who are more skilled than I am making mistakes. Flight sims are great for learning. So is seeing accomplished pilots making errors. Not as stupid as some errors I've made, but that's why it helps. And it helps more than you might think. Also, if that's the worst you two 'fight,' congratulations in advance on your Golden Anniversary. :)
Abby re-watch the successful takeoff a few times to realize how good you did. Your failures were simple mistakes like mixing not enough power with too much elevator. I like how Nate said 5 or 10 % elevator + increasing the throttle until it lifts into the air. Then just really get a lot of power to get the altitude you want to cruise. Great effort and fun.

Ps. Abby, my problem is not so much crashing as it is "landing" in trees. For the third time I've got one so high up I need to wait for a storm with high winds to get it down. You guys are lucky to have areas to fly in where you're not so close to trees.
I had to go 'fishing' one time for mine. Couldn't reach it standing on the truck with a 10 ft conduit.
You gotta fly the tail, if the tail is not flying it’s going to snap. Get the tail up before taking off.
Nate. You're a great pilot.... but a terrible teacher ha ha. It is often the way. Stuff we do instictively we forget to 'pass on' that info (as in feed in up elevator).
Abby. In my eyes you're a star. Sure you made an error or two. No problem. All through your nervousness (I heard it in the voice) you did carry on and flew. Cool and mucho applause to you!

all these foam planes need a hardened wing tip that's easily changed out, they are a bad design just leaving unprotected foam out there.

Just a newbie, but after my maiden crash I put "shipping tape" on all leading edges and tips. Seems to help (two crashes since, one a wind shear, and one going out of range and crashing into a field)
I was shaky with it at first also it is a big powerful plane. But now after some glue lol 😂 and some confidence it is now not so scary . And fly it almost every weekend. Very stable and so much fun 🙌👍👍

Full deflection of up elevator caused the aircraft to tip stall upon rotation. Sh** happens. Lovely plane.
+ again at 10:50 you can see that the elevator is being fully deflected upwards.

I had a flashback while watching Abby attempt her 2nd takeoff, it was the calm voice of my flight trainer, “left stick only, throttle up and steer, now gently pull the elevator just a touch”.
I know that Abby has flown a tail-dragger before… The Carbon Cub for one. Obviously nerves got the better of her.
I feel a little more comfortable with an unfamiliar plane, if I taxi it around for a few minutes, before attempting a take off.
13:30 I am NOT a Certified Marriage and Relationship Counselor, but "Nate, stop pushing Abby. She is anxious about T/L. Agree that you will execute T/L operations. Get the plane to altitude and then pass it to Abby for some gentle flying at altitude." Abby kept trying, to appease the big bully.
