VTT Grande Traversée du Vercors - wild
Five day round trip with the mountainbike (mtb) in the Vercors over the trails of the GTV. The track is impossible to ride with e-mtb because you will need to carry your bike over a long distance on day 5 .

Day 1:
Méaudre --- Corrençon-en-Vercors
59km Up:1590m Down: 1480m
Starting via Autrans, we were climbing towards crêtes (ridges) of La Molière and pas de Bellecombe where you can have a splendid view on the Alps. The singletracks and paths on the ridges of La Molière are with the most beautiful trails I have ridden. Attention should be paid since the path is shared with hikers. Via the nice downhill of the Croix de Jaume we were heading to Villard-de-Lans to our lodging in Corrençon-en-Vercors.
Day 2:
Corrençon-en-Vercors --- Vassieux-en-Vercors
66km Up: 1660m Down: 1700m
Video impression of the second day of our five day mountain bike round trip in the Vercors. The trip is leading us over the highlands of the Vercors, with astonishing nature and views. We were mainly following the Trans Vercors or Grande Traversée du Vercors (GTV) trails. This is a hard trip starting with a 8km climb to heights of the "Château Saint Julien". From here we were biking all day in the natural reserve of the Vercors on a mixture of singletracks, dirt roads, slow rolling paths with a mixture of grass and rocks,... It was a long biking day. Take enough water and food with you, since no provisioning is possible until the col de Rousset. Before taking the downhill to the ski station of the col de Rousset, you can enjoy breathtaking views from the typical crêtes (ridges) of the Vercors.
Day 3:
Vassieux-en-Vercors --- St.Jean-en-Royans
66km Up: 1320m Down: 2120m
We crossed the Vassieux plateau to reach Fond d'Urle and its breathtaking scenery, followed by a long descend to the foot of the massif of Royans.
Day 4:
St.Jean-en-Royans --- Malleval-en-Vercors
40km Up: 1700m Down: 1030m
After the joys of a day offering more descents than climbs, today it will be the opposite. A few laps along the Vercors fortress with some nice singletracks to warm up by passing near the hanging houses of Pont en Royans. Followed by a long, very long climb to reach the heart of the Coulmes massif. From the pas de Pré Bouret you can visualize the total ascent you have climbed .
Day 5:
Malleval-en-Vercors --- Méaudre-Autrans
36km Up: 1300m Down: 1260m
After a tarmac climb, we were enjoying the ride over the singletracks of Roche Plate and a technical downhill to the col de Romeyère. Next, it is going up 9km to Fessole and the "pas de Pierre Taillée". The last part of the climb is steep with large steps, so you will have to carry your bike. Consequently the track is NOT possible by emtb.
