    Great vid and I’m glad I came across it. I just got off my 2017 VFR 1200x DCT, which I bought to go on fire road and get me back to off roading, but at 650 pounds, I can’t afford to drop it because no way I’m picking up that sucker. I grew up riding a 1974 Honda CR125M Elsinore motocross bike. Honda’s first 2 stroke and I loved that bike. Got back on a bike after being off one for 33 years but went with street/ adventure type bikes. I currently ride 2018 Goldwing DCT, non tour, 2010 VFR 1200F DCT @ 170bhp sport touring and a 2009 FJR 1300 AE. I’ve logged 300,000 plus miles since 2015 but my roots are calling me back to the woods. Been going back and forth between a yz125x or a yz 250X. Watch your video, I think I’ll go with the 125. I’ll be 67 in 3 weeks and I buy that for my bday present. Enjoyed your vid. Ride safe….subscribed!

      @bcuzicancuellar5478 glad you enjoyed the video. I have had an absolute blast on my yz125x got 90 hours on it now and still just as happy as the day I got it. It is just so much fun to ride, so rewarding to ride it hard and make it scream. Hope your present to your self brings you as many smiles dude.👍👍

    Damm I regret selling my 2021 125X. It has no problem keeping up with my riding buddy's out in the dez. Never really got to ride it in the woods. Guess I will have to get another to find out!

    The yz125x definitely are a versatile bike, very underestimated. Sadly overlooked by many.

      I agree. Had several people warn me before buying it that it wouldn't be good for the woods or my size. I am not sure I can change all there minds, but the bike can.👍

      @@Randy_Cox is the yz125x more forgiving than a Yz125?. I've never ridden a dirt bike but I'm mentally ready to start with a race bike taking it slow and respecting the machine and its capabilities.

      @thegreat1548 yes. The power band or range of rpm the X model has is more broad and easy to ride. The straight moto yz125 is a pure race bike meant to be held in a narrow rpm window to make good power. Skilled riders learn to keep the bike in that window of power, called being on the pipe, but it is a learned skill that isn't easy for a beginner.

      @@Randy_Cox that's good to know, I think I'll go with the yz125x as my first bike. One purchase so i don't have to spend more money in the future on another bike, the yz125x may be a good platform to start with If I'm correct 😁

    Great bike👍👍👍 Is it a fully stock bike, or did you do some upgrades?

      @lexaket the only things I changed at the point of this video were Flexxbars bars, ODI hand grips, Acerbis skid plates. Everything engine and power wise is all stock.

    i am surprised, everyone talks about the xtrainer or crf250f or the klx, but honestly i love my yz250x thinking about getting the 125x for my wife but was worried about her stalling it and hating it all the time

      I don't think those bikes you mentioned are bad choices by any means, but they are not as light or as capable as the yz125x is. The crf250f and klx both have non-adjustable suspension where the yz comes with the same SS KYB that racers use. The seat height is about the only thing I can see as a draw back to the yz125x. It is a tall girl.

    Bikes like the YZ125 are both great beginner and great pro bikes. It's like a pump shotgun...good for novices, good for experts, not the best choice for the people in between.

    Looking to get a smaller bore 2 stroke. On a KX450F right now, do you think a yz125 or yz125x is going to be too little? I'm 6'1 200lbs.

    • @Randy_Cox
      @Randy_Cox  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      In my opinion the extra low end power of the yz125x makes a better choice for big guys like us. I am 6'2" and 250-260. The bike is 100% capable to not just riding but hauling butt with me on it. I can make laps times similar or faster than when i ride my kx250x.

      Yz125(x) has a 38.4 in seat height so its bigger than any 450 on the market

    • @Randy_Cox
      @Randy_Cox  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Kevin-Anderson104 yes and will teach riders to keep there feet on the pegs and not sticking them down to the ground like small bikes. So many knee and leg injuries are from learning this constant dabbing on the ground instead of riding on the pegs.
