Lost my mom Jan 2 2011 she was the mom of us five kids until I was adopted. She was my aunt her and my uncle adopted me when I was a baby. She was tbe GLUE that held us all together!! Since she has passed nobody calls me or checks on me. I fell like I've been abandoned by my HUGE family😔 mom's cooking was the BEST I MISS IT DAILY!! Lord help me during these holidays. We got her ashes back Valentine's day and lay her to rest in my uncle's yard Easter Sunday. It was her wishes. My uncle will be cremated also and lay to rest with her when the good lord calls him home. God bless you all who struggling🙏💛❤💚💜💙
After all these years i always come back. Right here. Once im gone and my kids find all my comments i hope they find this one. I love you guys. Daddy misses you.
Brings me back to the days of Kindergarten, First and Second grades for me...All went to hell from there. I'm now a Junior going Senior (Class of 2018), And I must say, I thank the good Lord above for all he's blessed me and my folks with. As of September 16th, 2017, I'll be turning 18, And I'm enlisting into the U.S. Army to serve my country, land, people and the way of life that I love oh so much. God bless the folks who have served and have read this. You answered the call.
Were you around in the 80s, I'm 57, to me the 80s were the best time's of my life!! All my friends are damn near gone now, hope your having a good one!!
My favorite song of Colts. I'm a woman, but you have no idea how much this song brings back some of the most treasured memories of my life. We were dirt poor, no inside running water until I was in the 6th grade.Grandma raising 6 of her Grand children with no help from our parents. Times were so hard, and I know we caused her so many heartaches. Oh how I wish I could go BACK. Thank You Colt for this song.
Wow this is literally a parallel of my grandma's life, she raised 5 that weren't here own, but treated us all like we were. Love you grandma, I miss you so much❤❤
Makes me miss being 4 years old on the farm with my great grandfather and nothing but nature and the good life! This is not the same world we were born in.
My favorite song that my grandfather sang to me I miss him so much I cry to this song. I listen to this everyday to get me motivates every time I come to work. R.I.P POPS.
This was filmed in my hometown of Marion, Texas. Man miss when my town looked like this. I cry every time I watch this. Football, and high school. Never will get that back.
Im inspired by the comments. I wish we could all go back. Todays life cannot change who we are. Gen X is the last of the American dream. Cruising. Drive ins. Church and Sunday dinner. Long talks and crushes on pretty girls who were happy just having a good boy going crazy over them. Ill leave this world being this guy. God bless us all. We rock!!
I am 50 years old and this sure hits home, my mama is gone now, but I remember Sunday dinners and fried chicken in a cast iron skillet cooked in Crisco. Funny the things we remember and will never have again.
In 2000 my mom died this song makes me want to go back. It sting to think about it but it helps me remeber what life was really like when life was easy, and just how much you can miss your mom. Thanks Colt Ford for helping keep her memory alive. Mothers day should be 365.
It’s been 5 years sense heard this song last and I couldn’t find it sense. God blessed me. I found it and it hits harder this time around as 5 more years added to my life has really caused me to realize how much I miss those days and how I wish I could go back……
Am I the only one that finds it hard to listen to this song. Not only because things have changed from childhood but to know that some day it will be even more different.
"My dad's getting older now but son he's still as tough as ever. Him and my little boy are best friends now, wish it could last forever. My mama's still the one I talk to when I need advice. She never EVER let me down, God, what will I do when she's not around?" 💕
This song reminds me of my cousin. He was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer this past year. Wish I could go back to when we were kids. No worries, no problems.... Life was so simple back then.
Go Back, boy do i wish i could go back 20 years so we can spend the 3 months at the coast with family and friends! Ill never forget those times! Thank you dad and grandpa for teaching me how to survive and have fun.
Wish I was back when my dad was in West Virginia he moved to North Carolina then passed away when he was in West Virgjnia we hung out and spend time together never knew that would be the last time i would see him or I would have never said love you dad see you later miss you so much wish I could go back and see your face
I'm only 17 years old and still in high school. I know that im still young, but when i hear this song it makes me think back to when i was in elementary school and it seemed like summer lasted forever and you never wanted it to end (i still never want it to end). It makes me think of the weekends out on lake St. Clair with all of my best friends swimming in the lake all day long. this song is just so deep and personally one of my favorite. Thank you colt ford
Hey buddy. I'm one year older than you. I would've left the same comment, if I heard this song back then. I turned 18 in boot camp probably around the time you made this comment. I graduated, fell in love, over-achieved at my job, and had everything I could want. It didn't take long for it all to be over. I lost my family, my navy career, my fire department career, and was left broke, deemed crazy, and weighed 140lbs at 5'9". I got on synthetic drugs and became an alcoholic. This year, I went back to where I felt the best. I'm still struggling with some issues but I won't give up. If you feel the same, you need to keep your head up and keep pushing forward. I hope the years have been good to you. I wanted to write this comment to encourage you, if you also had your life fall apart. God bless, brother.
I lost my family at a very age. my mom then my grandparents then my dad. I grow up fast and hard. my childhood was literally this song. my wife I've known since I was in middle school and she knows when I play this song shit just got real. I'd love to go back for just one day and go back to a holiday when we were all together and just see them and hang out. I will never forget helping my grandma cook all day just to watch everyone eat all the faster then us making it. Colt Ford I really appreciate you making this song I couldn't see anyone else putting that much soul into it.
It’s how you’ve used your troubles to better yourself. I didn’t have n easy childhood, I still had my family though. But I didn’t become a product of it. It’s how we grow from the troubles. It’s how you use your past pain to enlighten your present.
I Know the feeling with my family doing tough love didn't care if I was around or not but I look it as it made me a better man but I truly miss family that is gone no matter how many problem we had
I AGREE , IMy heart breaks for you with all your lose . But I'm very happy that you have those wonderful memories with your grandma. Memories are ALWAYS in our hearts & they keep us going 👍
It resonates with me even more these days. Lost my youngest brother Danny back in 2007. Man, I just want to hear him holler “Tommmmyyy” just one more once. Lost my mom back in 2002 and my dad in 2018. He got me started on the trumpet and cornet, and instilled in me a love for classical music, and my mom was an absolute delight. I loved telling her all kinds of puns. Makes me want to go back. Sure do. Who else is listening to Colt Ford’s ballad besides me? Just curious.
Lost my mom at 14 I took care of my dad for the last 10 years of his life with dementia Mom Dad I love you both brother John I miss you my nephew Patrick and my nephew JJ I miss you too❤
I used to listen to this song with my late mom n would cry my eyes out when he said god what would I do when ur not around this song makes me think of her
Today is veterans day and I just lost my grandfather last year, he was in WW2 when ever I hear this song I always remember when I would go stay at his house on the weekends and we would just sit and talk. I miss you so much and I love you! Happy Veterans Day!!!!!
I know this comment is about 6 months old, but sorry about your loss. My grandfather is in bad shape right now. He hit the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. The heartbreaking thing about these old school WW2 vets is that there just aren't many left. It won't be long and there won't be any at all. These were some amazing men, most of who were willing to die at a moments notice for our country. It's amazing to me how far we've fell in 70 years.
You miss days past, but what about today? If you spend today, reminiscing about yesterday, the only memory you will have tomorrow of today, is being sad about yesterday. If you keep that up, you'll live a sad future because you couldn't turn your back on the past..your childhood was great because you knew you had you're whole future ahead of you, you didn't live for the past, you lived for the present. That's why you were happy. So, You want to be happy now? Live for the present, and get excited about the future.
Crazy how so many folks in our generation grew up the same way. Small town life America. We can all relate. If i had a nickle for all the miles i put on roller skates dirtbikes and casting my fishing reels id be a billionair. Good day folks
Last night I never seen so many fingers go up! At the end of the song he asked if there anyone out there who would wanna go back and spend one more day with a person, put a finger up! Man did the concert rock! ~5/19/19~Bartlesville,Ok~ ColtFordConcet~
Colt Ford, you have me sitting in my car at the grocery store watching this video and think about my MOM who passed away in 2011. I MISS HER SO MUCH!!! Sitting here 😭😭😭😭 My mom made it so easy for me to tell her I was pregnant and was placing my baby for adoption in 1986. Actually my whole family supported my decision even if they wanted me to bring her home. But, I still feel I made the best decision if HARDEST one I could ever make. This song makes me think of all the times we talked about Heather my daughter.
This song was played at a good friend of mine's funeral. Saturday will be a year since he's passed. He was my first love. We never dated, but I had a crush on him since I was 4 years old. It broke my heart that night I got the call saying he had been killed in a car accident. I will never forget it. That boy was something to me.
sorry to hear that my child hood friend died around 3 years ago when i got that call saying he died it just didn’t seem real i was just like how is that possible he could die he was just 15 it didn’t really hit me hard that he was gone until a while after he died i still cry sometimes to this day even tho we weren’t that close
Here in GA, I'd love to go back and pull up china berry trees with my Grandaddy early 90s , stopping at lunch to eat sandwiches and watch the ole black and white tv with the channel 13 news (mid ga)at lunch time. That's the stuff memories and dreams are made of.. society now is nothing, I miss then, when life was LIFE
Music is so powerful. It’s amazing how a chorus can hit you right in the heart and make you shed a tear. Colt Ford is the man hands down. One of the realest in the music industry. My hat goes off to Colt Ford nothing but respect and love. 100%
Being 34 a lot of stuff from this video hits home God bless you colt ...its one of those songs you hear and instantly remember being a kid and every day wish you could go BACK !!!
left Kentucky in 1981 came to Ohio...wish I was back on that big farm on the edge Daniel Boone National Forrest...raisin tobacco, hogs and chickens, farming, fishin no rat race pace...dad was still here moms cookin on the stove...spending all afternoon at the pond after chores were done...sights, sounds, smells...family.
We went from our home state of Ohio to Danville Kentucky in the 80s.. LOVED it there! The people and the beauty of the knobs and blue grass... In Alabama now.. nothing compares to life in rural Kentucky.. will always miss it....
I cry when I hear this song.. me an my baby brother got put in foster care for a bull shit reason.. all we ever wanted was to go home now almost all our family is passed or moved on.. colt really knows what he's doing I love you colt ford..
nikki times get tuff and nothing ever seems to go right. when me and my brother where in foster care stuff never seemed right no matter where i was. i couldn't tell you how much of a relief it was when i turned 18 i took off and left all my problems behind only to find out problems follow you. just remember god has a plan for everyone and yours will unfold soon just got to adapt to the changes and remember that your family is watching over you.
I miss being little running the roads in Conrad, Montana. Jumping in grain carts on the rails. Exploring the wide open pastures. I wished life was still that simple.
addiction recovery will make you realize alot about yourself some things you never knew and some that seem second nature or common sense to a healthy minded person, but whether your seaching for something you've never found or something you've lost along the way this song has a way of painting a picture of a place in time lost by most of us healthy or not. I know i miss these days at least and im sure im not the only one. Thanks Colt Ford for helping me come to a realization of where my next journey will lead me and thats BACK to those great times we all remember and keep so close to our hearts
This is the definition of great music. Who cares what box people want to trap music in as far as genres go. Colt is an example of someone who doesn't care about labels and names of genres, he makes music he feels, whatever way he pleases, and the result is masterful beauty. Southern Rock/Country with rapped lyrics for the verses and Jake Owen doing his thing on the hook. Just a great track dude.
Just remember to go back when you can always get the best advice from your mama and daddy while you still can. Just lost my dad three weeks ago and miss all his advice already. Maybe 41 but he was always for me anytime. Will always miss that.
My dads gettin older now but son hes still as tough as ever. Him and my little boy are best friends now, wish it could last forever. My mama is still the one I talk to when I need advice. She never ever let me down. God what will I do when shes not around.... Papa Jacobs is the man!! touch him and u gotta deal w me and papa#4
It’s sad today that people don’t understand what life is really about and really means. Thanks Colt for reminding us what life is all about and what is important! Unfortunately we can’t go back but we can try to teach the new generation that life is precious and what is really important! I wish I could go Back!
After loosing both parents in the last few years, this song hit's home. Oh how I wish I could go back and relive those years. Mom and Dad were always there for us, through hell and back and the memories will never fade, nor the love, just really wish we could go back. Those that dislike this song, hope your life get's better.
I Love This Song!!!!! It Really Does Bring Back A lot OF Old Memories From back In My Younger Yrs. When My Momma Would Cook Home Cook Cooked Meals and We Would Have Family Gatherings. These Guys Couldn't Have Came Out With A "Better Song Than This" And I Would Love To Dedicate This Song To My Loving Momma Who Lies In Our Heaven Above That I Love & Miss So Very Much Love You Momma Love Always Kimberly
Lost my mom at 14 I took care of my dad for the last 10 years of his life with dementia Mom Dad I love you both brother John I miss you my nephew Patrick and my nephew JJ I miss you too
I'm only 17 and already wanna go back but songs like this help me realize tht life is a roller coaster all u can do is ride it. Sometimes it scares u sometimes u wanna enjoy were ur at atm. But all u can do is hold on and enjoy the ride
Reflecting on the value I now place on my child hood memories, I am inspired to be instrumental in creating cherished memories for my children. No greater gift can I think of giving and no greater reward could I ask then to be remembered through them.
Wish I had taken the time to enjoy the little thing's, spend more time with my family be a better brother a better son. Time flies so fast what I wouldn't give to take it all back and relive the time that's past me.
This song reminds me of the days in the sawmill with my grandpa Man do I wish I could go back to those days unfortunately he’s been gone almost 20 years now he may be gone but those memories are still with me today
Awww buddy everything you mentioned in your songs...they just touch home...and I appreciate your words written in to spittin out all of what we have had...from the BB guns but shooting at crows in our garden to the skating rink and our mama's always being there to listen...and fishing...oh how I miss fishing...our babies keep us busy but you remind us of how amazing and what grace life has had upon all that we have done we can always go BACK...thanks buddy ❤️😉✌🏼️
I wanna go back to the old days just to see my mom and dad. I wish my mom was here to help me right know. May you rest in peace mom and dad love ya guys
Just really makes me miss being young. Living out in the country, running barefoot, knowing everyone. And now everyone has moved away for jobs, family, and weve lost alot of precious friends along the way. RIL Joseph
This one and the Bubba Sparxxx with Rodney Atkins "Right" are 2 of my favorite songs.. I probably jam them 10 times a day... LOL... Wills Point, Texas, Lake Tawakoni at The Boat Basin in Rolling Oaks fishing with my Grandpa & my Lil Honda Z50 were the best times of my life...
Hell Yeah Bro!!! I lived in Quinlan when I was little.. Then we lived in Rolling Oaks off 751.. Finished up High School in WP living out by the Tawakoni Spillway! 751 Freak Beach was the shit when I was growing up... HAHAHA
BigDaddy Hale Would love to just spend another saturday doin nothing but hanging out on the lake, just didnt matter catchin any fish just miss all the good times cruisin around the lake and drinkin a few with all my buddies. Most are gone now but they will always be with me in my heart.
This song always makes me think of my dad. Getting older, tough as ever..wishing it could last forever.. I never had kids and he has passed away a couple years ago now. I'd never admit it to anyone in my life but deep down I wish I had children, especially when I think of what it could've been like if my kid and father were best friends. Oh well, you can't do it over again. Beautiful song ✌❤
My mom passed away this last September and I wish I could go back and relive all the great times that we had together
Rip sorry for you're loss
Wish you the best brother
Amen

Yes
Someday it WILL be better! I read the last book in the Bible!
"My dad's getting older now but son he's still as tough as ever. Him and my little boy are best friends now, wish it could last forever. My mama's still the one I talk to when I need advice. She never EVER let me down, God, what will I do when she's not around?" 💕

"Just wish I was back" with all my family that were here in the last 50 years. Not to mention people had respect for each other.

Crazy how so many folks in our generation grew up the same way. Small town life America. We can all relate. If i had a nickle for all the miles i put on roller skates dirtbikes and casting my fishing reels id be a billionair. Good day folks
I do believe this song is one of the most truthful songs ever written. I am sure that/ EVERYONE " At least once in their lives" has felt this way.
indead I feel almost the same way
Colt doesn't get the recognition he deserves...
Oh! So VERY true Roger!

Hello, how are you ? It's a pleasure meeting you on here.
Hello, how are you ? It's a pleasure meeting you on here.
Wish I could go back....to see my three older siblings....I still think about them every day....

Another one of colt fords songs they just keep getting better and better
This song was played at a good friend of mine's funeral. Saturday will be a year since he's passed. He was my first love. We never dated, but I had a crush on him since I was 4 years old. It broke my heart that night I got the call saying he had been killed in a car accident. I will never forget it. That boy was something to me.
srry bout that my friend dilianlost his arms and legs in a car accident
Now you have an Angel to watch over you.
Sorry for your loss...😢
sorry to hear that my child hood friend died around 3 years ago when i got that call saying he died it just didn’t seem real i was just like how is that possible he could die he was just 15 it didn’t really hit me hard that he was gone until a while after he died i still cry sometimes to this day even tho we weren’t that close
Hello, how are you ? It's a pleasure meeting you on here.
I wish I could go back and just see some family and friends that's no longer here, I know we can't but how nice would that be.
Hello, how are you ? It's a pleasure meeting you on here.

Some of us are still taught about southern hospitality. I'm 18 years old and I know how to treat people with right.
This song reminds me why I take up time with my wife and kids. I want them to remember dad loves them always.
This song had me crying at the concert today at the Florida state fair... 🙁. Good song colt ford.
left Kentucky in 1981 came to Ohio...wish I was back on that big farm on the edge Daniel Boone National Forrest...raisin tobacco, hogs and chickens, farming, fishin no rat race pace...dad was still here moms cookin on the stove...spending all afternoon at the pond after chores were done...sights, sounds, smells...family.
We went from our home state of Ohio to Danville Kentucky in the 80s.. LOVED it there! The people and the beauty of the knobs and blue grass... In Alabama now.. nothing compares to life in rural Kentucky.. will always miss it....
Same in a small 1 x 1 mile town called estancia had cattle horses chickens and pigs
I've never even been to Kentucky, but you are painting a beautiful picture here. Makes me homesick for a past that isn't even mine! cheers!
Love it
I cry when I hear this song.. me an my baby brother got put in foster care for a bull shit reason.. all we ever wanted was to go home now almost all our family is passed or moved on.. colt really knows what he's doing I love you colt ford..
nikki times get tuff and nothing ever seems to go right. when me and my brother where in foster care stuff never seemed right no matter where i was. i couldn't tell you how much of a relief it was when i turned 18 i took off and left all my problems behind only to find out problems follow you. just remember god has a plan for everyone and yours will unfold soon just got to adapt to the changes and remember that your family is watching over you.

11 years later, this is still fire, nice job Colt & Jake!
I love this song .. at 44 .. I wish I could go back.. things were definitely more simpler..

Reflecting on the value I now place on my child hood memories, I am inspired to be instrumental in creating cherished memories for my children. No greater gift can I think of giving and no greater reward could I ask then to be remembered through them.
It's funny how a song can change your mood from wanting nothing to do with your life to being as happy as ever. Love country music.
This song makes me miss my Dad. Wish I could go back and have him here with me again.
Hello, how are you ? It's a pleasure meeting you on here.

Just really makes me miss being young. Living out in the country, running barefoot, knowing everyone. And now everyone has moved away for jobs, family, and weve lost alot of precious friends along the way. RIL Joseph
Reminds me of life back in my hometown. Man I had a lot of fun there.

Hello, how are you doing ? It's a pleasure meeting you on here.
I grew up in Quinlan, wasn't nothing better than being out on Lake Tawakoni all summer long.
