Also some Tamoko can be the symbol of the ancestors from generations before. Fun fact: The very first Tamoko's were made from bone and was chiseled into the skin of the face just as well as tattoos were done on mens faces during the time of the "Treaty of Waitangi" (Tiriti O Te Waitangi)
