      I tried the mash feed with fermenting it...they didn't seem to like it, and one stopped laying, so I tried it dry as it was. They still wouldn't eat it. Mine clearly prefer the pellets lol I do soak the pellets, but don't ferment them, they also love it that way.

      I wish I could ferment feed, I just don’t have the capacity. But my flock desires Scratch (which I suppose is what you call ‘mash’ here). It’s oats, corn, and other natural grains. They get upset if I don’t feed them it, but it’s not the best choice I hear, health wise. It’s like junk food and can cause health issues later (fatty liver, etc.). They also get omega 3 pellets and crumbles. They prefer the crumbles over the pellets, but it’s scratch they really really want.

      I feed mine mash feed. I was fermenting for quite some time, when I still had a small flock, and my chickens would holler at me every morning, until they got their fermented feed. I free feed and they would refuse to eat the dry feed until they got their daily serving of fermented feed. Once I have all of my chickens together (3 different flocks, working on putting them together), I hope to feed fermented feed again. 🤞🏻

    I have around 100 chickens and I feed them with ground corn, bran, greens and spaghetti that I get from a factory. Alongside every day they graze freely in the forest for about 2 hours. In the food I add marble powder which is good for bones and eggs.

    I always ferment the grains. It's so many healthbenefits for the chickens digestion.😍
    I keep free food in the garden for mine.😊
    They also eat tuna once a week and cooked fish. Then I feed them cream and cheese, and cheesecake. Sometimes I give them breadcrumbs. 😊
    Every Saturday we have a small party with walnuts. 🥰
    And every evening I play the same song. Then they know it's time to sleep.😴🙂

    You are amazing! Thank You for your wonderful advice. I have 2 Easter Eggers. I make an all Organic garden Betty type mix. And add different grains here and there. I give them sprouts or greens almost daily. One of the girls is named Betty and she lays 2 blue eggs daily. She just started laying recently and started showing blood stress on her eggs. I got worried and thought she might need calcium or Omega-3's so I fed them both sardines, added calcium, massaged her, gave her a Epsom salt bath and a blowdry and she tipped me a gold egg. LoL. JK...She's been laying fine the last few days. I'm going to start fermenting!!! Didn't even know it was a thing... I appreciate the help you give bcuz I'm doing this all by myself, it's new, it's fun but sometimes scary. I do pretty much all you suggest and it's working. I'm waiting on the enclosed litter box for indoor dirt baths. You are a great resource! I truly appreciate your wealth of knowledge! God Bless You!

      Baby chicks have about 48 hours to get to food and water. I would try to leave them in the incubator for 12 - 24 hours so they can fluff up, rest, and get strong. Then you can put them in the brooder with their food and water. :-)

I have a question I’m a little concern about one of my chickens, she’s 15 weeks, white crested black polish, she’s been with me since she was 2 days old, she doesn’t eat as much as the rest of the chickens, even the other polish that is a week younger is bigger than her and eats more, she feels skinnier than the rest of my girls, can you please give me some suggestions, Do you think she’s sick? I want my sweet baby to be as strong and big as the other girls.

    • @WelcometoChickenlandia
      @WelcometoChickenlandia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Of course it would be best if she could be seen by a veterinarian but I know that's not an option for many people. Good luck!
