I have been an opera fan for decades but have never had a chance to see tis opera. always wanted to see the old production that was retired last year. My local opera company did it while my mother was dying - but they set it during desert storm and made it modern so I didn't feel like I missed anything. Hoping I can see this in HD but I am still wary of the "modern" aspect. Aida and Ramades aren't buried in a tomb - they are buried under the floor of a temple - so do the archeologist find Amneris' tomb?
It's a great hommage for the creator of a brilliant operatic idea. The team is world-class. BRAVO 👏.
