It all boils down to which party is the lesser evil. To put the point in perspective, complacency and over confidence that it is going win the elections again in 2019, put paid the dreams of TDP. When it was time to take on the BJP for denying the benefits granted under the bifurcation, TDP was directionless. The projects initiated by it were not completed. How many of the MOU's signed at Vizag in the CII meet resulted in establishment of industries & thereby employment creation ? There was a coterie of Ministers with the likes of Yanamala, KEK, PP Rao, Narayana, Devineni, etc., who were corrupt & nepotic. Sand mafia was rampant. Few MLA's acted like goons against Govt Lady officials. Janmabhoomi committees made hay with their corrupt practices. How much was left in the exchequer by the time TDP vacated the Govt ? When there was a provision for Hyderabad to be the joint capital for 10 years, CBN ran away due to the blackmail tactics of the wily KCR into the wilderness that is Amaravathi. YSRCP came with an empty slate, with no past failures, except for the personal ED & CBI cases against YSJ. He was a carpetbagger who sold his promises irrespective of the state of the coffers. He had a direct relationship with the BJP bosses and supported them in Parliament without fail. He then used all his resources to incarcerate CBN in Rajahmundry with clandestine support from BJP. State went to dogs. He allowed his party members to make money through any means. His volunteers system paid dividends from the women & old pensioners. He created a scare among the people that if CBN comes back to power, he would cut off their benefits. People are believing his Goebbels propaganda thanks to CBN's wavering nature. As of now, YSRCP cannot be written off so easily. He still has a huge support in rural areas. TDP contestants, like in 2019 are dreaming of their win & are complacent. Lesson not learnt. YSRCP is likely to utilize every lacuna in the rule book to win these elections either by hook or crook, with BJP giving their tacit support. To sum it, TDP. JS need to muster every resource available to win these elections, else, they would be buried under a tsunami of Jagan's crooked methods, never to rise again.
