I feel your pain.... same for me.... it kept falling off, then repair and then repair which kept failing... Now it has worked perfect but it took a lot of researching to figure it out.
I actually just now took mine down that was almost going to do the same thing and i caught it. Why do they not include those with these cheap doors? This saved me a bunch of money of purchasing yet another door. I’m also going to do this on a new one like you said to to save me in the future.
Where do you get the plastic cover that was over the screw? Had the same problem but when I took my screw out it didn’t have the plastic screw cover and I need that for the bracket to fit.
that is a great question. you might have to work at it to get it out. Mine was way up inside also. I had to pull the bottom off a little to get into it and then put it back but it worked out.

in your link did it come with the white caps and screw but the model number is different on the package on the video ?

Throw out the bi fold doors and install curtains. Two brackets and you're done.
