Hey there, been working on this issue for months now. I am able to launch. Also able to play sometimes. Crashes intermittently sometimes giving a directX error. Also, failed to validate 14 files message in steam. It appears to redownload them however problem persists. I have followed all the steps given in this post. Any suggestions? Sometimes, it will have no problem at all and I can play for hours without issue, then other times it crashes every round. The 14 files failed to validate is consistent however and has never been able to be fixed. This hasn't always been the case. As of a month ago I had never had any issues with crashing. Now its a daily occurrence.
Fixed Had this issue too tried everything driver rolling back windows update verify files bios update nothing was working until what I did was 1.uninstall steam which uninstalls all the games u have 2.reinstall steam 3.reinstall the game 4.verify again and it should work after that
@@isaacberry5900 I mean verify the game files again after repariring your c drive or perhaps whereever you have the game installed on. This was the only opeuion that worked after trying everything on the internet. Sometimes it wiell do it randomly but restarting my computer fixes it now...and that was only after repairing the c drive

I've been playing mw2 since beta without any issues for over 100 hrs then randomly yesterday I would start to crash only in games and haven't been able to find a fix, none of these fixes worked for me, anyone able to help?
right? warzone 2 update screwed everything for me and even uninstalling steam and game still wont fix and get the validation error. I had this issue with battenet and just stopped playing all together 3000 devs and they cant even get this right?
I have only just encountered this issue. The workaround that I have found is to install just the game to an external drive, I'm using a m.2 drive in an enclosure. Maybe you have an updated solution by now?
did all of that... Rolled back drivers, updated windows , did all the other stuff with defenders and security uninstalled steam. reinstalled mw2 verify and still SHOWS 33 files failed to validate!. Yes i even did clean the CMD code chkdsk c: /r DIDNT work........... am five minutes from uninstalling and becoming a monk forever....

didn't work for me just restarts my laptop with a blue screen. I rolled back my Nvidia drivers to 522.25 reinstalled and cleared downloads from steam, I tried bios update, and it didn't work either also had to roll back the update because it just made my laptop slow. Nothing worked for me ever since after the update from 11/2/22 am I left bo4 for mw2 and now they both have issues.
well unless u instantly go into shady website after turning it off ur safe. pc viruses dont spread through air they spread through websites and downloads.
Same I’m stuck in soap and ghost mission game crashes and I try multiplayer and after three matches did the same. Game uninstalled until I hear good news from gamers.

You do not have to reinstall all games, if you reinstall steam. After installing steam, add the games manually to steam again.

Ok but what if the game is on battlenet and we still get missing files error? This happened to me on both steam and battlenet.
No same. Opening warzone on Battlenet was always a problem. Then I bought Modern Warfare on steam and I can't open it either.
This issue will not be fixed until a patch is put out for it. most likely the season one patch on Nov. 16th, don't waste your time on this

Last time i validated files for WW3 & steam uninstalled my 70 gb game. Now i validated COD WZ 2.0 it uninstalled it too. Steam is a shitty client.
