  • While working in general surgery, nurse Chua Yu Ru saw patients - especially elderly ones - who kept returning to amputate more of their limbs because they'd managed their chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, poorly. Disturbed, she wondered if she could do more to prevent repeat admissions.

Her chance came when the Singapore General Hospital set up 2 nursing posts in Chinatown, a district with low-income neighbourhoods like Jalan Kukoh. As a community nurse, she now helps elderly residents manage multiple chronic diseases like high blood pressure and chronic heart failure.
Since 2017, 70 nursing posts with 210 community nurses have been set up by various hospitals across Singapore, as part of the Ministry of Health's initiative.

Noble (and actually fun altho can be tiring esp when you like to chit chat and move ard a lot😉) job you got there sis!👍i interned before in a SAC and did home visits too, it was endearing for me to every week say hi and ask how the seniors are doing (who sadly can be lonely...)

I dont think Singaporeans realize how well organized and well-managed the government has kept them for decades. One small fault and Singaporeans be like "PAP BAD, WP GOOD, VOTE THEM OUT" all that bullshit. You don't realize the world outside. Nobody owes you anything. They keep talking about minister's higher salary but this kind of professional ideas, these kind of need to constantly improve Singapore can only come from people who are highly skilled, organized like PAP Ministers. You see the result is Raesah Khan. Politics and policy making is not a joke. Better for Singaporeans to stop complaining and appreciate the stuff they have.

My wife still doesn’t believe the virus is that severe and everything is exaggerated by propaganda, we argue all the time. Does anyone have the similar issue that someone close to you doesn’t believe it ? 😰

So many people seem to need help in Singapore, I (a Dutch person) wanted to do Social Work in Singapore but never got invited for a single interview.
I have experience and I am qualified, it is truly sad to see that not enough people get the right help :(
