  • Welcome to the first video in the Trex 500 E Electronics and Setup series. In this video we introduce the series, do some soldering, install the electronics, and program the radio. Look for the next video we we will begin setting up the heli! Thanks for watching, have a great day and happy flying friends!

    Hey bud! Thanks for posting. I love the soldering station because it has adjustable temperature and wattage! I robbed the design for the jig from Hobby King's "The Jig Thing" and the machine shop guys took care of me by making it up out of a piece of spare stock. They even CNC'd my name on it! ;) I don't know why Bobby wants to go with Deans. I also use EC3 and EC5, but I am glad I found those cups at a local hobby shop! The magnifying effect is one of New Blues Essentials! Thx Bro!

    Couple of things. 1. Bad Ass soldering station 2. Kick Ass jig 3. Deans cup? I am 100% EC5 and EC3, but glad to see they took some of the pain out of dean's ass 4. Cool effect on the magnification of the cup's... have to hit you up on where to find that one. 5. As always, great job!

    Hey Delbert! Like 1970muis said. Use the DSMX Satellite. Don't use the DSM2 satellite as it will not work correctly.

    Nice video. Question on throttle curve. For normal flight, instead of using governor, If I set the curve to, lets say, 75% straight line, will it keep rpm close to constant (perhaps, with small deviations)? I assume that with different pitch positions, I will still have some small drops in rpms due to loads on blades. So I thought, that in order to keep rpm fairly constant, I would set throttle curve, instead of 75% streight line, to 0, 75, 77, 79, 81. Would it help to keep rpms constant, despite various pitch values?

      Hi Roman, Setting a straight line curve should keep a constant RPM as far as I know. It has been several years since I posted this series and have since been flying the quad, but I think that should work well for you. Like you said, rotor load will have some impact but it should be minimal for normal to slightly aggressive flying. Good luck and happy flying!

      @@georgesjunglerc I'll tell you man, I set throttle from 75% in the middle and 73% at the end (5th position), and it flue smooth like a batter). Thanks for help. Drons are boring))

      @@georgesjunglerc Thanks man! Got another question. I have Microbeast Plus and noticed that if I wanna go forward, increase elevator with the stick, it reacts immidiately, but when I move the stick back to the center, elevator servo gradually returns back ( rather then immidiately). Is this ok on all 3 axis gyros? The reason I am asking is that such slow reaction creates a small delay, and, in order to stop forward flying, I have to lean elevator stick a bit back. Is there a way to eliminate this delay? Perhaps in gyro settings?

      My max value for travel adjustment is 150%. It says in the manual to set travel to "zero". Should I set travel adjust to 100% (its default) or 150%, which is maximum travel?

    Hello. I have a question. I have 3s 3300 and 4s 3300 batteries. If I hook them up in serial connection on trex 500, will it damage the motor? In specifications they say it should be 6s and less. Did anyone try to connect 7s on trex 500?

    • @georgesjunglerc
      @georgesjunglerc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! It has been several years since I've flown these guys. If I recall correctly, the "S" rating relates to the discharge rate of the battery. I would imagine in theory, so long as they are the same voltage, same cell count, and same mA rating you should be able to run them in serial, but to be honest, I can't swear to it. Good luck and happy flying friend!

    • @rmiklosh
      @rmiklosh 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@georgesjunglerc Thanks for response. By S I meant number of sells in a battery. So if 6s battery gives 22 volts, if i stick 7S, meaning 26 volts, whould it damage the motor?

    • @georgesjunglerc
      @georgesjunglerc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rmiklosh Hi again! Ahhh. I was thinking of the C rating. I would not mix batteries with different number of cells. I am not sure if it would damage the motor or ESC, but it can't be good for the batteries. Good luck and happy flying friend.

    • @rmiklosh
      @rmiklosh 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@georgesjunglerc If you connect, for example, 2s 3300 mah and 3s 3300 mah in serial, you get 5s 3300 mah battery. If you connect 2s 3300 mah to 3s 2500 mah in serial, for example, it is gonna be a mess (as i read), because your 3s 2500 battery will run out of voltage before 2s 3300 because of less mah on 3s.
