Her safety with side b has taken a huge hit. She's the 13th lightest character. She has a tall hurtbox. The list goes on with her list of nerfs. Check the ssbu wiki to see just how many nerfs there are. This is what I was afraid of, hate consuming players and leading to a community looking very childish and unmoving. Kevin Pierott, if you see this (which you likely will), get over your salt. You're making the community look bad. The game is new and there's plenty of new things to discover. It's going to be 2019 and we don't live in an age where bayo is the best character.

She has no good approach options, her frame data is amongst the worst when it comes to recovery frames. The bayo nerf no ones talking about is her lack of approach options in ultimate. She used to just be able to camp because of how good witch time is but now that its so bad shes forced to approach and has no way to get through a shielding opponent
Bayo never had approach options her main gameplay was baiting people so in Ultimate who rewards the attack over the defense she'll have a harder tme than Sm4sh naturally

Real Pika the thing is bayonetta design simply makes no sense. Bayonetta was able to rack up damage in smash 4 easily and kill extremely early. I’m surprised she was so strong in smash 4 to begin with, she was badly designed and they fixed that. Now I do think she needs less lag on her moves that’s the only buff she needs. With that bayo can actually be really good sense in this game bayo can rack up damage extremely well.

Kai something called practice might help prevent that. Look at Nairo, who always uses default controller settings, and how fast he plays. Tap jump doesn’t seem to be messing him up. No excuses.

Lima had to outplay THE FUCK outta Orex in order to win. I think they should buff Bayo's neutral and kill power a bit honestly. She seems to really struggle with approaching. She seems to have a harder time killing than even Young Link which is a problem. Bayonetta is definitely way more enjoyable to watch now tho. They've really captured her combo centric playstyle in this game. The combos are much more satisfying to watch in Ultimate. If they gave her a bit more kill power I think she could be high tier in the hands of an above average Bayo, and top tier in the hands of Lima, Captain Zack, and other godlike Bayo players ("years of research" *cough*).
don’t know if you still need to hear this but it’s a tech called jump cancel witch twist. if you input witch twist within 3 or 4 frames (i forgot what it is exactly) of your jump, it’ll cancel the jump so you can use it later.

Up b, jump, up b. You have like 1 frame to do it though. Takes a little practice but once you get used to it, it becomes second nature. I don't use tap jump for it. I have my jump mapped to the shoulder button and I use c stick for tilts. That's just my personal preference. I have a buddy who can do it on default controls so it's truly just a matter of how you feel comfortable doing it.
The buffs that Bayo need ARE: Reduce startup, landing and ending lag in all her moves All her Smashes, with more knockback and faster to execute (and hitbox too) More damage in her neutral game

The Triple Jump Glitch of Sm4sh is now a feature in Smash Ultimate. You can see Lima using double upb and then using the double jump, that's how he can get so much height while edgeguarding.

When you do the second witch twist thing when you jump you have to do it before the butterfly wings are completely out to basically save it for yourself.
its simple. Could be a little hard at first but once you nail it, very easy. I think its called a witch twust cancel, and when you jmp, you have to witch twist exactly 1 frame (or maybe a little more) and your second jump is available. you can also get a third jump doing the same thinf

Im no expert on smash meta, i just joined like a month ago, and im really ashamed of being on the "nerf bayo" butthurt train. Bayonetta didnt deserve those extreme nerfs, the only thing i didnt liked were his ladder combos and the fact that side b was too hard to punish, i dont understand why they nerfed his endlag so bad and his witch time. Bayo can still do impressive things, but its not fair at all, i saw a really good bayo player lost against a grab-spammer ROB, and there i realised how fucked bayo is now that she has almost no options to start a combo, the bayo player wasnt able to kill ROB at above 150% cause she has like 4 killing moves on his entire moveset.
To be honest you have to be a really good player to use Bayonetta, so ppl like me (casual) can´t enjoy Bayonetta and that´s unfair. I want to play as her without hours of training but this is ridiculous, I barely can do 2 of her combos and thats it, I´ll be hardly bodied if I play as her they need to fix that. I like the character but can´t enjoy it and is struggling try her as a casual. And easier jump to witch twist and less ending lag in all her moves and less landing lag could be more than enough to us (casuals). no more knockback, no more damage just easier ways to performe her combos and you still will have some struggles to do a killing combo, fair enough for me. I knew she will have some nerfs but make her a non-casuals option is too much

@The one and only I agree with all of this. However her Heel Slide not going through shields is a universal change. They made grounded specials not be able to go through shields, however normals such as dash attacks do. I also want to point out that her aerials have horrendous lag if you land with the bullet arts variant, meaning her neutral is way harder than most characters now. I really hope she gets some buffs in the future, but hopefully minor buffs so they don't make her as insane as she was in Smash 4.

Tricky right? Like the one guy was like "Bayo just got an easy 60%, she's not a bad character!" Like yeah, Bayo got 60% in one combo but still couldn't kill Peach until she was in like the 120s+. Peach can technically get 60% in one combo *and then kill you at like 85*

Kai something called practice might help prevent that. Look at Nairo, who always uses default controller settings, and how fast he plays. Tap jump doesn’t seem to be messing him up. No excuses.
One of your shoulder buttons has to be jump to perform it like that.

That commentator sucks. Biased as hell. What does it give if Bayo can rack up an early 60% when your opponent is at low percent yet Bayo starts killing at 170% anyways? Those 60% are incredibly hard to pull, Lima makes it seem far easier than it is.

Lima had to outplay THE FUCK outta Orex in order to win. I think they should buff Bayo's neutral and kill power a bit honestly. She seems to really struggle with approaching. She seems to have a harder time killing than even Young Link which is a problem. Bayonetta is definitely way more enjoyable to watch now tho. They've really captured her combo centric playstyle in this game. The combos are much more satisfying to watch in Ultimate. If they gave her a bit more kill power I think she could be high tier in the hands of an above average Bayo, and top tier in the hands of Lima, Captain Zack, and other godlike Bayo players ("years of research" *cough*).
In the first combo it seems that Lima uses his Up B twice without using his second Jump. Can anybody tell me how?
don’t know if you still need to hear this but it’s a tech called jump cancel witch twist. if you input witch twist within 3 or 4 frames (i forgot what it is exactly) of your jump, it’ll cancel the jump so you can use it later.

Up b, jump, up b. You have like 1 frame to do it though. Takes a little practice but once you get used to it, it becomes second nature. I don't use tap jump for it. I have my jump mapped to the shoulder button and I use c stick for tilts. That's just my personal preference. I have a buddy who can do it on default controls so it's truly just a matter of how you feel comfortable doing it.

Reduce startup, landing and ending lag in all her moves
All her Smashes, with more knockback and faster to execute (and hitbox too)
More damage in her neutral game
Not the last one. Her damage is already on the same level as other decent combo fighters. She doesn't need more damage.
She does need a slightly buffed witch time because by the time she’s done her animation it’s over.

The Triple Jump Glitch of Sm4sh is now a feature in Smash Ultimate. You can see Lima using double upb and then using the double jump, that's how he can get so much height while edgeguarding.

How does Lima pull off the double up-special while still having his air jump? I thought you needed to air jump to use another up special?
dl2ndnp if you input the second up b fast enough, you can still retain the double jump.
When you do the second witch twist thing when you jump you have to do it before the butterfly wings are completely out to basically save it for yourself.

its simple. Could be a little hard at first but once you nail it, very easy. I think its called a witch twust cancel, and when you jmp, you have to witch twist exactly 1 frame (or maybe a little more) and your second jump is available. you can also get a third jump doing the same thinf

It isn't a bug. She's had it since sm4sh. It isn't going anywhere. Doing it can be done without tap jump. I do it. It's a matter of preference.

If you Witch twist immediatly after putting in your Doublejump, the doublejump won't be counted, so you can still use your jump at second time

Im no expert on smash meta, i just joined like a month ago, and im really ashamed of being on the "nerf bayo" butthurt train.
Bayonetta didnt deserve those extreme nerfs, the only thing i didnt liked were his ladder combos and the fact that side b was too hard to punish, i dont understand why they nerfed his endlag so bad and his witch time.
Bayo can still do impressive things, but its not fair at all, i saw a really good bayo player lost against a grab-spammer ROB, and there i realised how fucked bayo is now that she has almost no options to start a combo, the bayo player wasnt able to kill ROB at above 150% cause she has like 4 killing moves on his entire moveset.

To be honest you have to be a really good player to use Bayonetta, so ppl like me (casual) can´t enjoy Bayonetta and that´s unfair. I want to play as her without hours of training but this is ridiculous, I barely can do 2 of her combos and thats it, I´ll be hardly bodied if I play as her they need to fix that. I like the character but can´t enjoy it and is struggling try her as a casual.
And easier jump to witch twist and less ending lag in all her moves and less landing lag could be more than enough to us (casuals). no more knockback, no more damage just easier ways to performe her combos and you still will have some struggles to do a killing combo, fair enough for me.

@The one and only I agree with all of this. However her Heel Slide not going through shields is a universal change. They made grounded specials not be able to go through shields, however normals such as dash attacks do. I also want to point out that her aerials have horrendous lag if you land with the bullet arts variant, meaning her neutral is way harder than most characters now. I really hope she gets some buffs in the future, but hopefully minor buffs so they don't make her as insane as she was in Smash 4.
