Dave Grohl listened to Black Hole Sun, while waiting for Kurt to arrive at Robert Lang's studio, for their last session. He was blown away, check out the interview.

Love listening to old interviews with Chris. He was so well spoken... and his voice almost melodic even in speech... soothing to just listen to him speak. We miss you, Dude. You left a black hole in your wake, without a doubt.💔

@@mudstomp7875 Me too! I miss him so much. His voice and all the good things he did. In my opinion, I think he was a very good hearted man. He has always been my favorite singer since the late 80’s. No one will ever sing like him so, people shouldn’t try. Lol 😂

Outshined from badmotorfinger was the launch into the reason superunknown was such a success most music enthusiasts at those times were already waiting for the release of it due to how good the first two albums were

Superunknown was given to me as a 20th birthday present; it had just come out (my b-day is in March). I'm still listening to it and enjoying it like back in 1994!

This record was one of several that were instrumental in driving me to become a drummer and eventually a multi-instrumentalist. I used to listen to it on cassette at night when I was in 6th grade and I dreamed of being able to play just SOME of what Matt Cameron could. Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Adrenaline, Around the Fur, Aenima, Evil Empire, Jar of Flies (which my mother sent me a tape of when I was about 12 just because she liked it so much), and (as much as I hate to admit it) Korn and Life Is Peachy were huge influences early on. I found bands like At the Drive In, Botch, Far, Failure, Glassjaw, Hum, Jawbox, a Perfect Circle, QOTSA, Radiohead, Slint and Sunny Day Real Estate a few years later. Failure, Hum and SDRE were probably the biggest influences. Despite moving to Seattle with my dad from Florida in 1993 just prior to my 10th birthday, I didn’t even really get into Nirvana until about 2001-2002 when I was about 18-19. Anyway, thanks for posting this. Very informative video.

One of the few bands who could keep their original sound but kept getting better and better with every album.
Pure raunch & unbelievably heavy, sadly miss this bands ever evolving albums.

back in late 2020, I was 15 at the time, and my dad told me to try out this band called Soundgarden, and most of the time I kind of always put his recommendations aside because it was either something I didn't like, or straight up didn't bother trying them out. I ended up trying them out because I saw the album cover to Superunknown and I was like "hey, I remember this album cover, I have seen this before as a kid." so I decided to play it, and I was instantly hooked from listening to let me drown, I was like "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!" I ended up listening to the whole album, by far the closest you can get to a perfect album, which is kind of shocking to me because I honestly wasn't a fan of Head Down or Half. Chris Cornell (Rest in Peace) did a fantastic job with his vocals on the album, his scream in Spoonman always gives me goosebumps because holy shit that scream is good, same goes for when he "instantly" jumps to a high note in The Day I Tried to live.

I liked Bad motor finger and thought of them as a slightly metal grunge band. This girl I knew told me she listened to this album on acid and said it was incredible!!! So I bought it . The rest is history.
I have always been very reluctant to say one band or artist is my favorite because mood is so important when choosing what music to listen to that it changes. However, anytime I am asked or am considering what my favorite might be or is if someone is asking, Soundgarden is by far the band that I first think of.
Chris Cornell was an absolute master of his craft!!!! And the bands overall talent level across the board is second to none!!!
Another thing I love about them is in their interviews their honesty is so manifest!!!! They are asked a question and I will be expecting a sort of ethereal ambiguous type of response that you might get from a rock star type of artist who may want to seem mysterious and mystifying to their audience, and they always give "regular" people type answers and that are so devoid of guile that you have to love them!

Fourth of july and limo wreck for me on this one. The singles are just the cherrys 🍒 on top! Sometimes I wonder if the reason Chris didn't publicly "believe in God" was because he was/is a God.

I remember Reading 1995 when all the top bands of the nineties were performing over 3 days- smashing pumpkins, greenday, hole, white zombie, foo fighters , to name but a few. Soundgarden did a mid evening set and I was disappointed they weren’t headlining that Saturday night. At the end of the set Chris fell down shouting out repeatedly “ everybody sucks” and I assume it’s because they weren’t given the head line. If anyone knows the reason please let me know.
