Beautiful? I found it absolutely heartbreaking. A newborn stuck with a mother that has ZERO interest in his safety or needs and no desire to be in close physical contact?
If this is beautiful mothering in a human sense as well, a lot of people don’t actually need to continue paying a therapist to help them get over their childhoods.
Finally something sweet and not a person abusing or babies being tortured!! Very cute. So sweet to watch. Thank u

You can’t be serious. She refused to prevent him from climbing the fence, didn’t check on him when he fell, ignored his many attempts to be fed or held, barely tolerated when he succeeded in climbing onto her and made little to no voluntary physical contact or even eye contact.
Sure she seems to accept she’s stuck with him as her responsibility but she’s definitely not enjoying it. Nor is she good at it. People seem to have such low expectations from monkey mothers. I’ve seen loads of videos of all types of primates including these monkeys that very clearly WANT to be close to, bond with, and protect and feed their young. Sometimes too much so. So trust me when I say they can and usually do a much better job at taking to motherhood and not just out of duty.

What? That mama showed ZERO interest in that newborn. No concern for his safety when he climbed up the fence and fell. No response to any of his attempts to get close to her. It was almost like he was just another part of the scenery. Perhaps a slightly annoying insect buzzing around her.
I get how cute the newborn is. I totally agree with that part. But my overall feeling was sadness for the little guy. How anyone would not only fail to see the mom’s total lack of maternal instinct or interest is one thing. But interpreting the baby trying so hard to be held or even looked at with zero response as the mother being “so loving and caring” blows my mind. If this is good parenting no wonder the youth of today are so needy and attention-seeking.
People really do see what they want to see.🙄

Usually when I watch videos of this kind of monkey they dont have much hair and look like they are in bad health. They are in a zoo or something. And like those in the zoo they dont let the baby out of their sight? Very protective! These look really healthy.
