I must say that I love your record and to me it’s ahead of it’s time. In the 70’s there was a lot of do it yourself pop groups that had a similar sound to this. Do you have any recollection of the recording or any gigs you did back then? Would love to hear some background info! Your record is a real collectors item within record collectors of 60’s garage bands and your music is loved by many!
when in the 60s was this if you can remember ? sounds like the later half of that decade to me! this is an excellent little 45, makes me wish you guys had gotten the chance at a full length or at least an EP!
I’m a record enthusiast, collector and rock musician from Boston and this is the first time hearing your old band’s record, for a 14 year old that’s pretty damn good! There were hundreds of high school age kids who formed bands, many who cut a record or two then disappeared. Many of these are as great as anything the more widely popular, commercial groups were, and sometimes more so.
It’s amazing that James Clark (my cousin, Jimmy) lead guitar (vocalist on Sad Lovers Live Today) was only 16, Mike Bond on bass (vocalist on That’s What I Say was 14, and drummer, Danny Boggs was 16 if I’m not mistaken. Jimmy has been in several bands throughout the years, until recently. I’d love for The Three From There to have a reunion! I’d be there! I’ve always idolized Jimmy.
I missed your comment and just now saw this. Many thanks for the info! This 45 is a huge favorite and will never leave my collection. I think they were ahead of their time with these tunes.
@@Glendoras Thank you so much! The more I hear it, the better I like it. I still have my 45, but it's in fair (but playable) condition. I really appreciate your response! It's actually the first response I've ever received from a comment of mine!
@@larrybralley1942 Great that you have a copy of the 45, they are quite rare. I try to reply as much as I can and I really appreciate comments like yours with info about the bands I’ve uploaded. Did Jimmy release any other 45’s after this one? Many thanks for your comments!
@@Glendoras That was the only record they made. They won a talent show at Pulaski High School. (There were several boy bands there, thanks to the "British Invasion".) Anyway, the best I remember (I was 6 years old), the 1st prize was getting to go to Johnson City TN to cut a record. I need to ask Jimmy if he has more copies. He lives 3 houses down from me in Dublin VA. I really appreciate your sincere interest!
@@larrybralley1942 That must have been amazing, a dream come true for the band to win a recording session and release a record! If he doesn’t already know, tell him there is a younger generation who really likes the record and that it’s a collectable gem among fans of garage rock. It has been compiled on a popular LP volume called Teenage Shutdown with other similar bands. I live in Stockholm, Sweden, and got the 45 through eBay a few years ago. I sometimes play That’s what I say when I DJ around the bars in Stockholm. I bet they never saw that coming when they released the 45 some 54 years ago! 😉

@@Glendoras Crude, raw, gritty, unrefined garage. Mojo, it's not the first time a record label screwed up the spelling of a band's name. I've noticed that labels get the name right, but include apostrophes when there shouldn't be any or they don't include an apostrophe when there should be one. Sometimes you may not notice it right away. It's a small technically, but it's an error none-the-less. Wow…Just found this on TH-cam. I was 14 when we made this record. Am 70 now. I’ll have to tell Jimmy and Danny about this

The effect of this guitar is a pearl! Even if it's a supposed limitation of the recording, this song is very special. The boys did a great job!
I grew up with these three guys in Pulaski , Virginia . Great guys. Thanks for uploading this .

Crude but utterly charming 😍 a real go getter
Love it ! Their sound, their young age, they make me think of The Groupies.
This bands' name is definitely much less embarriskin than "The Groupies".
Raw, crude, and rude. The way I like it. You mentioning not knowing jack about the band makes me laugh, in a good way.
Still listening to this!

Thanks for the kind words! 🙏
Love the early psych , punk of the 1965-1968 time , but too bad marred by SouthVietnam.
Thanks for posting! Love it!
Thanks for the comments Alain. Glad you like the songs!
Love the early punk / psych the authentic psych music.
Great song, amazing channel👏
Thanks! Yes, that’s a big fave of mine!
If I didn't know better (thanks to you!) , I'd say this was a London punk group circa 1979. Awesome!
Thanks for the kind words! I’d think so too. 😀
Glendoras
I just subscribed to your site. Bring it on bro! I'm 65 now but I still know how to rock
Daniel McCurdy Thanks, hope you enjoy the music. Will upload more eventually.
Now THIS one sounds great at 10 percent faster!
I love this tune! Everything's so cool about this song; right down to the bass lines! Why haven't I heard this in the sixties?
There was so much music in the 60's that didn't get national airplay
Has that 1966 sound to it
What year did it come out?

A mistake was made on the label. The actual name of the group is "Three From There". There, is Pulaski Virginia.

very nice glendoras
Can't get any rougher than this similar to the Stones.
This proves time travel is possible. Otherwise, how did that guitarist get a chorus pedal? 😛
Sounds a bit like he plays through a Magnatone amp. They got a sorta chorus sound to them.
sounds like stone roses
+peanutdom ..or rather the other way around. ;)
Now you mention it, I can see it....
If I would remake this song, I would add more fuzz to that guitar. I think it would sound really cool.
Yes it would Some enhanced fuzz would only enhance the song
Comment a t on pu perdre ces orchestrations, parties mélodiques : ces guitares raffinées ? ...perdu à jamais
What yr was this tune ?

Супер!
Sounds a little like Lou Reed, but bad ass punk psych.
You get a star for trying.
I didn't know Cartman was ever a garage rock vocalist.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAH I CANT STOP LAUGHING AT THIS COMMENT HELPPPPPP-😭🙏
