I'd focus on clarifying a NICHE or THEME for your channel. Then the specific questions start to flow...

Getting to the 4000 watch hours is what takes forever, getting subscribers is very easy especially from the ytshorts...ive gained so many subs but they never watch the long form videos 😊...
Also,ive seen many successful TH-camrs getting over 100k views on their videos without them putting any tags or rankings, please explain this

Look at what users are searching, use TH-cam research tab in the TH-cam studio.
Thumbnails. Test out different thumbnails.
What type of content performs better.
Shorts is the whole another universe.
What is channel is just your hobby or passion without targeting specific folks ? And what if there is no money plan ? I think just keep pushing helps never give up never surrender.. Learning is the best thing that comes out of being a creator..
The is the purpose of step one: reverse engineer.
If you decide you don't have a target audience, don't care to earn money, and just want to make videos for fun -- that's amazing.
You have something most creators lack: CLARITY.

Thanks! I hope that my good quality & consist free yoga classes will eventually grow my channel through sheer consistency - I can’t make them flashy & choppy and exciting like typical TH-cams. They are just simple yoga classes ! I’m not a super fit 20 something traveling to glamorous locales - just a regular mom with 20 years of experience. Regular posts for 2 mos have me 1100+ subs so far

One thing I regret is that I did not start my channel earlier. I think there is no substitute for time spent as a TH-camr as the metrics on TH-cam only tend to grow, like subscribers etc
Great stuff, as always. I really love the point about analytics at 11:25-11:50. Reminds me of W. Edwards Demming on process improvement. If you over-analyze one video at a time, you will end up with a WIDER set of changes than if you do 50 and analyze them all. Produce, produce, produce. Then analyze and tweak. The repeat to see if changes worked.

Currently sitting at 750 subs and a terrible representation for watch time 😅. But…I feel that if I approach this journey from a mindset of being grateful for every small improvement and anything I put into the channel as a blessing, it might not be such a ‘difficult, hard, impossible and I hate the algorithm type journey’. I see so many discouraged people and I think it’s mindset over anything. If you expect things to be terrible, if you expect TH-cam to ‘hate you’, that’s what you’ll get. As Sean has mentioned before, your biggest competition or obstacle is YOU.

95 subscribers more to hit 8K, still can't believe I made it this far. 100K seems like light years away but enjoying the process and journey. This being my creative outlet, never knew in my wildest dream to even thought about being monetized or have subscribers. I still remember watching Think Media and Sean in my infancy, thinking like one day I'll get 1000 and monetization and here we are now. Keep grinding all! If you think the task is too much think about this question. How do you eat an Elephant? One bite at a time.

idk, I do content because I enjoy it. Its all for MY happiness. If others want to follow me on that wave, there's room for everybody.
I just don't like how this always seems to be framed in a Us v Them antagonistic and adversarial approach.
I do what I do, the only person I'm fighting against is the person I was yesterday and I try to get better and learn more. But the final goal is "What makes ME happy?" IDGAF about what makes other people happy. That's THEIR problem.
So I guess I'll never have 500K followers or make $25,000 on TH-cam. That's OK. Because I'll be happy and sleep just fine with that.
I make more money from my baskets of eggs.. TH-cam is my hobby, and that fine.That's good, bc TH-cam is pretty stingy.
I'm sure your content and channel is fine for people wanting to make TH-cam their career.
