Mr. West, as someone who was into pornography and masturbation for basically my whole life and slowly through the grace of God as I converted got free from that lifestyle, I do have wounds that run deep due to my past sins, which God in His mercy and love forgave but the wounds are still open and my eyes are still seeing a distorted vision of what true love and sexuality is. That being said, listening to you, maybe not so often as I should, I now begin to realize that is through your ministry that God wants to guide me out of my darkness and heal the relationship that I have with women, in the sense how I perceive them as a young man who is hoping to get married one day. The way you explain things with love and passion just hits differently and I am absolutely certain that in todays culture where everything is pornified and women being seen as mere objects, this is a must listen and I'm am thankful to have you as a teacher on this subjects which the secular world wants to downplay and ridicule. Blessings to you Mr. West.
We're so glad this ministry has been a blessing to you, brother! Keep fighting the good fight and going deeper into this beautiful teaching that the Church has provided!
I’ve never heard about the theology of our bodies. This is really interesting. I’m currently 8 months pregnant with my second child and it’s been really rough. My daughter is only 14 months old. I’ve struggled with the timing of this pregnancy because my husband and I are in a living situation we don’t want to be in and my body was not fully healed from the last pregnancy. Hearing the theology of a woman’s body is really encouraging and empowering for me. And mind blowing. Don’t really know what else to say. lol.
Thank you for sharing and praise God for your family! We encourage you to keep going deeper into the theology of your body. We have tons of videos that might be relevant to your current state in life as a mother and the crosses that accompany it.
My oldest two are 14 months apart and while it wasn't our plan and felt like a marathon of diaper changing, tandem nursing and sleeplessness...They're now 4 and 3 and the closest buddies. They get mistaken for twins often. They will always be close because of the closeness of age. And now, a few years later, I am SO grateful they are. Prayers and blessings!! There's isn't ever a really convenient time to have a child 😊 I hope you are blessed with a holy labor and happy baby ❤
@@fswan1944 I was the youngest in the family and I got along with my brother that 11 yrs older than me. We are like best friends, and my siblings that were within a year or 2, we fought like cats and dogs. I hardly see them other than a call , or text once or twice a year and if we do it's not more than a minute or 2 - My older brother we hunted, fished all the time.
Excellent excellent talk. You are speaking total truth. The dragon is definitely after women. God deliver us from misogyny, abortion, and the objectification of women. 🙏🏻
Oh yeah…jus like when this idiot tells y’all to take “JPII” advice on marriage and sex. A man sitting here telling y’all about women?!?!?😂😂so sad. This is inaccurate simply by its messenger.
I was raised Catholic 💯 and went I was to leave home for an event or gather my grandmother will always after get blessing tell me remember your body is the temple of God. I will look at her in me teen years completely lost. Today at 48 after listen to you in this video I understand what she was trying to convey. Glory to God. Thanks Christopher as someone who has been in the use of pornography this is eye opening this is what we desire is Jesus himself that’s the reason we have been so addicted thinking that it will fulfill us
I have a really hard time with all this magical flowery stuff. I can’t really take it seriously but if it’s truth I hope God helps me understand eventually
I find it sad that modern women have been indoctrinated into believing "MARY DID NOT GIVE CONSENT SHE WAS A VICTIM," and that motherhood in general has been dragged so hard. It's ironic that those who believe in a "woman's right to choose," hate it when women choose motherhood and hate on women who choose motherhood. Me, I've always been of the opinion that the female figure is poetry in motion and high art, which was one of the reasons I stopped watching porn even before I reclaimed my relationship with Him; it's insulting, degrading, and demeaning to women as well as men and I don't fancy watching what would qualify as abuse in reality. I see no reason for me to not admire the female figure, just not in that kind of way. I will never apologize for being a straight man with a man's natural urges, either, for that matter. If that's evil these days, then I guess I'll wear that badge prominently.
I've never really understood the concept he made about porn is a twisted image of sex before. But this video alone has helped understand the concept better now. I'm praying for everyone to never commit any form of adultery in the future.
Of course you don't. I don't see myself the way God created me neither. I don't think anyone does except for Jesus. I guess it's that we need to believe that God created us with such dignity. I guess we need to keep changing our perspective into His perspective.
@Destasaan I believe you misunderstood my comment. Again, I as a woman don't see myself as heaven on Earth. I think it reduces the magnitude of what heaven really is. A child of God, servant of a king 👑 a friend of Jesus ❤️ absolutely. But I'm not heaven on Earth 🌍
I got a question I want to be a filmmaker and one independent movie idea I have is to make a James Bond parody and I want to satirize the bikini bond girl trope so I want to make the love interest in the movie wear a bikini the whole movie is that sinful for me to have an actress do that or do you think I should change the story?
Thank you for your question! Christopher and his wife Wendy address more specific questions and give more detailed advice in their weekly podcast. Feel free to submit your question here: askchristopherwest.com/ask and check periodically to see is your question was addressed.
Having a woman dressed immodestly for an entire movie doesn’t seem like it’s showing respect for her. I’d recommend not moving forward with this especially in today’s world
I think you already know. Not everyone who’ll consume this film will be Christian with your understanding and it may even lead Christians into lust. James Bond is a sexually immoral, serial fornicator in all his movies so that’s a piece of media you’re risking a lot to be watching and focus on to begin with.
@@TheologyoftheBodyInstitute I don't know if these questions will help, but here are some questions I had in relation to this complementarity. What would that entail? If a woman's body more directly images heaven, and heaven is where God dwells, what about man? Beauty is a call to love, women are the fair sex, and all beauty/ calls to love demands a response, what is a man's response? Would it be fair to say that just as women image Mary and her receiving Christ into herself and therefore her being the dwelling place of God (heaven), man more images Christ directly. And so Man's body is to lay down his life for heaven/the church/ his woman. This is why a man needs to be strong so he can defend these things and why man is more muscular. If women are images of the house of the Lord and give off a call to love, then men respond to that call by becoming physically strong to build up the house of the lord. But even more profoundly a man should interiorly work to be strong spiritually and emotionally to cultivate his house/temple/the kingdom (the woman). Am I close here? Are there things that I am missing?
Any thoughts on this: preganancy and birth are supposed to be overseen and led by the hands of the husbands /fathers. No, when the water breaks the husband is not supposed to drive to the hospital - he's supposed to hunker down, roll up his sleeves and deliver his child through the body of his wife. That's a wholely sacred moment that's not supposed to be denied from husbands - St. Joseph did not hire a midwife.
Tell that to all the C-sections, fatal internal/external bleeding, labor distress, prolonged deliveries, and host of other dangerous labor complications. If you’re serious, you need to stop with this naturalistic idea. Science and faith are not mutually exclusive, and they work together. It’s no wonder the highest cause of death in olden times was most often labor. Sorry, but if I were a woman, I’d kick my husband out if he tried to “oversee” the delivery. That’s the job of medical professionals. My sister just had to have a blood transfusion after they had to cut part of her to get the baby out. She also had an epidural - which she was so thankful for. If u and ur wife wanna do that, be my guest, but it is extremely stupid in this day and age. Deliver at a hospital with professionals, and u might one day save ur wife/child from severe conditions or death.
Husbands are allowed inside the delivery room and many assist in labor. Or at least take the newly born baby into their arms. I think the issue maybe that many men have no interest and think it’s a woman’s job to be present in the delivery room.
@marypreethavalentine9851 Yes, that is how it is today - which is very sad when you think about it. A separation of kids from their dads right at birth - it just seems correct that all dads are supposed to be the very first ones to touch and hold their babies after they've been with their moms for nine months. I mean, it's literally the most masculine thing that can be done - preventing the deaths of their wife and kids. There's a romance to that which needs to be honored.
