How do you hear polyrhythms? Do you hear it as one rhythm? Or do you hear them as separate rhythms where you change your focus to the different parts going in and out?
Great question actually. There are phasas in how we act with any phrase. The initial practice phase where we decipher and work the basics. The second phase where we can begin to fun tion on the kit with it and the third....where we have internalized the phrase and can play it at will with no need to think about it.
