What shoe would you recommend for of those who want a wider toebox? I don't want wide shoe as foot moves to much. Appreciate any thoughts here.@@thatfitfriend
I found the X3 had a really tough upper, especially the base of the laces which had a plastic (?) piece that was very rigid and I'm pretty sure was there to add some stability to the shape. I was hoping they'd remove that and soften the upper a little, seems like that might be the case. Great work as always Jake! Love the colourway too 🙌
I gave away my old X1 Fronings so I can't pull a direct compare for you via vid on IG, but the security of the Nano X4 and runnability is lot better, imo.
I'm curious what your impressions are with the X4's width fit compared to the X2 (the X2 fits my foot the best). Would you say that the X4's more flexible upper (than the X3's) makes it closer to the X2 fit? Also I traditionally use a runner's knot on my right foot but noticed the X4 does not have that option - do you think the reworked heel was enough to mitigate heel slip?
They fit more similarly than the X3 did, imo. They do feel a tad more tapered out of the box, but they should break in and feel similar over time due to the nature of the Flexweave upper, I feel. That's tough since that's a super specific example, but I think you'd have a much better chance of the Nano X4 being void of that issue compared to the X3s!

Hi Jake. I'm pretty disappointed with the fit of the Nano X4. I've been a Size 13 in every previous Nano, but the X4 feels noticeably tighter. Not only do my toes almost touch the front of the shoe, but there seems to be very little room above my forefoot as well. For comparison, I had about a thumb's width of room in the X3 between my toe and the front of the shoe. To be fair, I've only worn the X4s for one workout and around the house for a bit, but I haven't seen it stated anywhere that they need to be broken in. I currently have shoe stretchers in them, which I'll probably leave in for a day or so. I'm hoping that will help. Literally the best model. The X1 sucked. The X2 is so freaking narrow I didn't even bother with the X3. And now, the X4 is even more narrow! Ruining a perfectly good all-around training shoe.
Got a pair of Nano X a couple of years ago and these were great overall but then I was gifted with Metcon 7, and the things that I didn't like were that Metcons were tighter than Nanos, also the running feeling was way worse and harder.. I got used to it, but I'm planning on going back to Nanos or something softer... now I could get Nano X3 Adventure (77€), X4 (112€), Tribase reign 5 (87€)... the thing is X3 Adventure feels really different from X3? The different outsole makes me wonder if it's a good choice (I love them aesthetically) or if I should wait for X4 sales or more colors (my Nano X are still usable for months, it's more like a whim to change); also never heard about Dropset 1, I've been out of anything crossfit related for 2 years almost. Will be 80% of the time used for indoor training, rope (even tho I always go for legless hehe), barbell, dumbells, weightlifting, machines.. you know, daily metcons let's say. I don't think I will do outdoor training, maybe just go for a walk or a short jog, but not the main use. Thank you so much Jake!

I prefer the RAD but that's because I like their daily wear functionality and overall feel when training. Both are great shoes, though, and idt you can go wrong with either. No ragrats!
I’m not sure if Reebok unisex sized these models. If they did, women’s mayyyy be snugger but I feel like you’d be fine if you like one of those colorways
So far, which would you pick for your overall training shoe: Savage 1 TBR 6 X4 And have you seen the Puma Velocity Nitro 3? 2/1 release date. That could be your short run shoe :)
That's tough! I like them all but for different reasons, honestly. TriBase Reign 6 has quickly become my go-to "athletic" shoe. Savage 1 is my bombproof shoe for WODs, rope climbing, and for when I want more width. Nano X4 is a good bridge for workouts where I'm doing a bit of everything with some intervals. If you had a gun to my head, I'd prob go BP, Reign, Nano X4 (as of right now) I have. It's on my radar :)
Bruh, relax. Watch my full review if you want more context, lol. This is just a first impressions. Plus, a lot of folks in my community wear these without gripes. Wide is relative, too, so how they fit for you and your harsher bias towards their width isn’t the same for everyone. Blanketing strong verbiage based on a singular fit bias ain’t it.
I know I'm NOT who you asked, but Nano X1/X3 have been lifesavers for me!! Nano x2 are solid but don't feel as good on my flatish feet. I have a massive overpronation issue on the right side due to ankle injury and these shoes make everything more solid. I feel like a normal person wearing them for workouts, yard work, or just an average day.
@thatfitfriend I'm currently using a Reebok crossfit speed tr, going 7 years. It is going to fall apart soon. I have been searching for one that has a wide enough base with low arch for awhile, even the UA reign was not wide enough. The only one that might work is Nike zoom metcon turbo.
I am still on x2. Would you switch from x2 to x4? I do alot of 400 and 800m runs in the WOD. Wondering if it is as good as the x2 is for running during a WOD. 😊thank you.

Yeah, it'll be solid! I'd start with these and not overthink it too much! These will be well-rounded for you
are these breathable to not wear socks or u always recommend socks? Opinion on adding inserts to these shoes when doing squats?@@thatfitfriend
Do you think they are suitable for a Hyrox Competition?
Could work, imo! Won't be as plush as a traditional running shoe, tho!
Hi, jake I use rad one shoes for my training (crossfit). I like my shoes but they are too narrow. do you have any recommendations for similar shoes, but wider.
Thank a lot keep your good job
Born Primitive Savage 1, Dropset Trainer 2, and Reebok Nano 2.0 will give you more width and they all work well for CrossFit!
Puma Fuse 3.0 first impressions video coming soon?
Legit ordered last night and paid for next day shipping. Stay tuned :)
@@thatfitfriend Epic!
Hey Jake, I do 6 days/week lifting and 2x a week HIIT. This or Dropset 2 @ $100, or X2 Adventure which is down to $75?
I’d go Dropset! They’re sick for lifting
@@thatfitfriendthank you sir!!!
Would you recommend Nano X4 or Haze Trainer for standard CrossFit / weightlifting movements?
It depends what you prefer with the feeling of your shoes, imo! What do you currently wear and what do you like about them?
@@thatfitfriend I have metcon 7. I like stability for heavy lifts. I don’t like them for runs and they are narrow. I was thinking nano x4 and haze might have a wider toe box.
@@robertwalker7618 I’d start with Nano X4s since it’s easier to return them in the event their fit doesn’t align with your feet. STRKE doesn’t have the best returns and if you do opt for the Haze, go through Box Basics!
@@thatfitfriend Awesome. Thanks Jake!
Is there a big difference if I use the women sport? I ask cuz I like women colors than men’s
Shouldn't be too different. Believe these run unisex
How does it compare to the x1? I'm still there...
More rigid upper and better(ish) midfoot durability for CrossFit. Size up a half-size in these compared to your Nano X1 sizing, imo
@@thatfitfriend thanks for the response! Really appreciate it
Rad one or nano x4 for the beat overall crossfit shoe?
I prefer the RAD but that's because I like their daily wear functionality and overall feel when training. Both are great shoes, though, and idt you can go wrong with either. No ragrats!
Is there a difference in shoe fit between the women’s version and the men’s?
I’m not sure if Reebok unisex sized these models. If they did, women’s mayyyy be snugger but I feel like you’d be fine if you like one of those colorways
@@thatfitfriend thanks Jake! You rock.
@@cvayas. thank you for checking out the content 🤝
Nano 4 or Nike pegasus for running?
Peg!
So far, which would you pick for your overall training shoe:
Savage 1
TBR 6
X4
And have you seen the Puma Velocity Nitro 3?
2/1 release date. That could be your short run shoe :)
That's tough! I like them all but for different reasons, honestly. TriBase Reign 6 has quickly become my go-to "athletic" shoe. Savage 1 is my bombproof shoe for WODs, rope climbing, and for when I want more width. Nano X4 is a good bridge for workouts where I'm doing a bit of everything with some intervals.
If you had a gun to my head, I'd prob go BP, Reign, Nano X4 (as of right now)
I have. It's on my radar :)
@@thatfitfriend Is the TBR 6 midsole noticeably more cushioned than the Savage 1?
So for squats/lunges/deadlift/bench/luggage carry/box jumps/short treadmill runs 5 minutes--which one would you choose? @@thatfitfriend
So its an x3.5 instead of a full upgrade 🤔
Even years are always small updates, not overhauls
Hi your videos are so amazing, please can you help me with Nano X4 vs Adidas Dropset 2? Thanks you, best regards from Chile 🇨🇱
I do weightlifting, i forgot to say that
Adidas Dropset Trainer 2! Thank you!
Most folks with even a slightly normal foot should likely avoid this. This review grossly understates how narrow this shoe is.
Can you suggest a shoe for someone who has overpronation with flat feet? thank you
What are you currently wearing/are they working for you?
I know I'm NOT who you asked, but Nano X1/X3 have been lifesavers for me!! Nano x2 are solid but don't feel as good on my flatish feet. I have a massive overpronation issue on the right side due to ankle injury and these shoes make everything more solid. I feel like a normal person wearing them for workouts, yard work, or just an average day.
@@raylistenbee8756 thank you for chiming in here :)
@raylistenbee8756 Thank u. I have tried reebok Nanos. Unfortunately, the width on my foot cover over the side of the shoe.
Its between soon to be discounted x3
Everyset
Or the tribase regin 6 as my new workout shoes
Reign 6 or Nano X3, save the monies!
@@RogueCylon same same
I am still on x2. Would you switch from x2 to x4? I do alot of 400 and 800m runs in the WOD. Wondering if it is as good as the x2 is for running during a WOD. 😊thank you.
I would! Should be nice a upgrade
Wow x4 already 😅
Haha, makes you feel old, right?
I still do not understand why major brands do not use the Butterfly tongue system used on the Lezoline Rifones table tennis shoes, man… these are the best ever TT shoes I’ve ever used (yep, I also play table tennis, that’s why I do HIIT cardio too) and their tongue system is revolutionary th-cam.com/video/aN-ilkOEzVo/w-d-xo.html
I literally just bought my first lifting shoes (the nano x3) at the end of dec, and i loved it but just a couple of weeks later the nano x4 came out??? Should've just wait a little longer 🫠
Nah, the Nano X3 is solid and the X4s will be here. No ragrats!
@@thatfitfriend it is indeed a solid one, since u said there is not much of a difference on the way it feels and also I prefered the X3's design so yeah no regrets and I'm gonna make sure to abuse it in the gym 🔥
@@thatfitfriend anyway thx for the review man, I really enjoyed ur vids. Keep up the great work💪💪
