My good man Akane always smiles even when she is shedding tears as she did at the end of the 2022 tour in Chicago. Others will point out even when the ladies are playing Hengao (Japanese activity of making funny faces) she never cracks up in fact she cracks up her fellow maids. Also you kept rewinding the bit where rhythm guitarist Miku falls off the platform after her guitar showdown with her sensai Kanami. Miku is a bit of a klutz.

Kobato uploaded a clip from her phone after a show some years ago - featured Akane backstage just sitting on a bench, looking dead, while Saiki did look into the camera but with a pretty vacant 1000-mile stare - and finally Kobato turned the camera on herself, her face pouring with sweat. Kind of sweetly a concerned fan then posted this on one of the B-M reddit community pages, with the question: "Why are they crying?" Only to get the answer: "That's not tears, just honest sweat." This band works their keisters off in concert for their audience.
You will soon see that Akane is the happiest drummer on earth. She always hits her mark. Along with Misa, they drive the heartbeat of Band-Maid. And the maid outfits and the fact this is an all female band is all but invisible when hearing the truly professional rock sound.

It's easy to become obsessed with Band-Maid. 1. They have an awesome catalog of songs. They're all good. 2. They have a crazy backstory. 3. The musicianship is incredible, but it always serves the songs. 4. Their work ethic is over the top. 5. They know how to put on a great live show that truly connects with their audiences. 6. When you start listening to them, you won't be able to get their songs out of your mind. I stumbled across Band-Maid 2 years ago. I now have a stack of Band-Maid CDs and DVDs nearly 10 inches tall. And I want more: I've already pre-ordered their Tour Final deluxe boxed set.

The reason for wanting you to see the live version is that they have no problem in stretching out the original, either adding an extended intro or splitting it in the middle and inserting a jam. I would like to see you check out their latest single "Shambles."
Thanks for reacting to the greatest hard rock band in the world. I've been privileged to see them live twice and am waiting impatiently for them to return to the States. @MeteorReactsYT there are also many alternate versions of quite a few of their songs. The Studio Coast verion of Play and the Line Cube Shibuya version are both excellent. As well as the Studio Coast, Tokyo Garden Theater and Zepp Tokyo versions of Puzzle. The Zepp veraion is a special acoustic version that will almost have you crying.

You are right about Band Maid going beyond a concert. I describe to friends that it is more like, an audience with, where you get songs and the band members talk to you as well. Band Maid always have a few MC's during the concert as well as Miku's famous Omajinai Time.
@@MeteorReactsYT Miku, the rhythm guitarist, red rose, used to work in a maid cafe, where she came up with the idea of Band Maid. In maid cafes they cast a spell over your food to make it taste good. Miku does this to the audience during one of her mc's. She gets the audience to join in and it is a staple part of every Band Maid concert.
Domination was the 20th song of a 21 song set, and the maid's energy levels were just as high as they were at the start of the concert. Freedom, Wonderland & Play from the same show are also available on their official channel. You definitely need to check them all out!

The concept is that you are the Master or Princess of the manor and they are greeting you at the door welcoming you home. They proceed to dote on you and do all sorts of cutesy things - one of which is to sing you cutesy songs. Except _this_ band of maids will sing songs that hit you in the stomach, make you think, and overwhelm you with emotion. Then they'll take a brief break, Miku will come to the microphone and say "Welcome home, Masters and Princesses!" and ask "Are you enjoy?" I've never seen a response other than a resounding "YEAH!!!!!"
They are such a breath of fresh air, great musicians and great music! There are lots of clips of them ...check out Omajinai Time, this is where Miku the rythym guitarist has a session of banter with the audience and she is an absolute artist at this. They all seem to really enjoy playing together

this song is their official anthem, 75% of the time maidiacs will steer reactors toward this track for their first song, since they started their mantra has been "World Domination" through their music, and yes 90% of the time their live tracks are better than their studio tracks, simply because first and formost they are a live band, they just come alive in front of a live audience
yeah they're legitimately insanely talented. Some of their best, most inspirational videos aren't on youtube anymore for copyright reasons which is fine but if you want to see some pure spectacle of 5 girls in maid outfits outclassing just about any other musical band on the planet today go pick up one of their live albums and make sure you've got a 12case with you lol
THIS is why people say you need to stick with their live videos. They enjoy themselves so much, it is insane. Check out "Freedom" from this same concert. They spend the whole song with all of them smiling so much. And a longer drum solo with a huge grin the whole time.

You nailed it. You understand the magic of the Maids. The balance, the fun, the crowd is part of the show and Band Maid loves it. The songs can be hard and heavy and still bring a smile. “DICE and Hate?” always get recommended; however, I personally think the shoddy camera work and muddy sound take away from the performance. “DICE”, official music video is the best version so far. And the “Hate?” audio track is excellent. Maybe listen to those in your free time? My highest recommendation for you based in your comments so far would have to be the song they played right before “Domination” in this concert: “Play.” You like the chants and this is one of them. The other one is “FATE,” however, the live performance is a fan made lyric video. If the words on screen wouldn’t distract you, “FATE” is an absolutely killer track with one of Kanami’s best solos. And it rarely gets reactions, so you would definitely get attention from the fans Enjoy the fall down the pigeonhole, po!

Domination is always on the setlist but they don’t do the solos all the time. And yes, when you get the chance, see them LIVE! They are amazing! Try ‘Moratorium’ next. It’s chanty! ‘No God’ is less chanty but you end up singing along! lol.

Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist and poet. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, genius composer and arranger, author of all music. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors from Tokyo University. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Frequently snacks between songs. Best drummer in Japan. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Best bass in Japan. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).

Not only THE best Hard Rock band on Earth but the happiest too. 🤘🤘 At 3:15 - MISA, the bassist, Kanami the lead guitarist and composer, and Miku the rhythm guitarist and founder of the band, are playing Hengao - "strange faces" - with Akane the drummer, which is making funny faces to try and put someone off. Akane, of course, laughs along while not missing a beat. It shows the ladies' confidence in each others' abilities that they can fool around like this while all of them slam out note-perfect Rock at full tilt. At 4:10 - MISA the bassist is holding her plectrum in her curled finger so she can produce it and switch from slapping to picking in half a nanosecond! At 5:27 - Akane the drummer smiling happily while hitting two separate beats on her double kick pedals while simultaneously continuing the song melody on her snare, toms and cymbal. At 7:22 - a brief glimpse of Kanami laying down one sweet rolling chord pattern - pure class. 🤘🤘 Subscribed to watch your fall down the Pigeon Hole (the Band--Maid rabbit hole). There is a 30 second drum solo from Akane on the live performance of FREEDOM (yes, she laughs and smiles throughout!). But you'll love every minute!.
Many people watch this video and exclaim, 'Insane!' I felt the same way when I first watched this video a few years ago. However, after watching many of their videos and streaming live performances, and seeing many TH-camrs exclaiming 'insane!' as well, I started to think, 'Maybe they're just normal, and it's actually us who are insane.'😅 Anyway, recently, I've been able to smile and accept flyers from women in maid costumes handing out flyers in Akihabara without feeling strange, unlike before. Maybe she could be the next generation's super musician, you never know. 🕊️✨🥰🤘
If you haven’t heard them yet, like classic metal and thrash and want to hear a band at the top of their game, I’d also recommend MDO and Raise Some Hell by a band called Lovebites. At this point I consider both bands to be essential viewing, but Lovebites are a lot heavier and more metal so bear that in mind. (No growly vocals, though.) Think of Maiden and Slayer played by ladies in an equally…striking set of outfits.

My good man Akane always smiles even when she is shedding tears as she did at the end of the 2022 tour in Chicago. Others will point out even when the ladies are playing Hengao (Japanese activity of making funny faces) she never cracks up in fact she cracks up her fellow maids. Also you kept rewinding the bit where rhythm guitarist Miku falls off the platform after her guitar showdown with her sensai Kanami. Miku is a bit of a klutz.

Kobato uploaded a clip from her phone after a show some years ago - featured Akane backstage just sitting on a bench, looking dead, while Saiki did look into the camera but with a pretty vacant 1000-mile stare - and finally Kobato turned the camera on herself, her face pouring with sweat.
Kind of sweetly a concerned fan then posted this on one of the B-M reddit community pages, with the question: "Why are they crying?" Only to get the answer: "That's not tears, just honest sweat." This band works their keisters off in concert for their audience.

Thru the World Domination album Kanami's lead parts are reminiscent of The Edge (U2) Joshua Tree era. Esp. last solo in this song and "Daydreaming"

The Studio Coast verion of Play and the Line Cube Shibuya version are both excellent. As well as the Studio Coast, Tokyo Garden Theater and Zepp Tokyo versions of Puzzle. The Zepp veraion is a special acoustic version that will almost have you crying.

You are right about Band Maid going beyond a concert. I describe to friends that it is more like, an audience with, where you get songs and the band members talk to you as well. Band Maid always have a few MC's during the concert as well as Miku's famous Omajinai Time.

@@MeteorReactsYT Miku, the rhythm guitarist, red rose, used to work in a maid cafe, where she came up with the idea of Band Maid. In maid cafes they cast a spell over your food to make it taste good. Miku does this to the audience during one of her mc's. She gets the audience to join in and it is a staple part of every Band Maid concert.
Domination was the 20th song of a 21 song set, and the maid's energy levels were just as high as they were at the start of the concert. Freedom, Wonderland & Play from the same show are also available on their official channel. You definitely need to check them all out!

The concept is that you are the Master or Princess of the manor and they are greeting you at the door welcoming you home. They proceed to dote on you and do all sorts of cutesy things - one of which is to sing you cutesy songs. Except _this_ band of maids will sing songs that hit you in the stomach, make you think, and overwhelm you with emotion. Then they'll take a brief break, Miku will come to the microphone and say "Welcome home, Masters and Princesses!" and ask "Are you enjoy?"
I've never seen a response other than a resounding "YEAH!!!!!"

They are such a breath of fresh air, great musicians and great music! There are lots of clips of them ...check out Omajinai Time, this is where Miku the rythym guitarist has a session of banter with the audience and she is an absolute artist at this. They all seem to really enjoy playing together

yeah they're legitimately insanely talented. Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more!
Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party!
MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. The Maids SOLD OUT 2023 US & Mexico tour wrapped up and was a fantastic success. And so many great live fancams to watch! Their playing and antics were as fresh and fun to experience from first show to last. BRAVO Band-Maid!!!!! In addition, their Japan tour finished up with 13 concerts, AND they’re writing and recording for their new album. Their 10th Anniversary Tour concluded at Japan’s 17,000 seat Yokohama Arena on Nov. 26, 2023 and in Hong Kong Dec. 21!

You nailed it. You understand the magic of the Maids. The balance, the fun, the crowd is part of the show and Band Maid loves it. The songs can be hard and heavy and still bring a smile.
“DICE and Hate?” always get recommended; however, I personally think the shoddy camera work and muddy sound take away from the performance. “DICE”, official music video is the best version so far. And the “Hate?” audio track is excellent. Maybe listen to those in your free time?
My highest recommendation for you based in your comments so far would have to be the song they played right before “Domination” in this concert: “Play.” You like the chants and this is one of them.
The other one is “FATE,” however, the live performance is a fan made lyric video. If the words on screen wouldn’t distract you, “FATE” is an absolutely killer track with one of Kanami’s best solos. And it rarely gets reactions, so you would definitely get attention from the fans

Domination is always on the setlist but they don’t do the solos all the time. And yes, when you get the chance, see them LIVE! They are amazing! Try ‘Moratorium’ next. It’s chanty! ‘No God’ is less chanty but you end up singing along! lol.

Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist and poet. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed.
Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, genius composer and arranger, author of all music. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors from Tokyo University.
Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Frequently snacks between songs. Best drummer in Japan.
MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Best bass in Japan.
Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
Great reaction. Next up, watch the official live "Freedom". It's got a drum solo and she's laughing all the way through it, and your backup vocalist sings a full verse. For more "concert experience", watch the new official live "Don't You Tell Me". Your mind will be blown.

Not only THE best Hard Rock band on Earth but the happiest too. 🤘🤘 At 3:15 - MISA, the bassist, Kanami the lead guitarist and composer, and Miku the rhythm guitarist and founder of the band, are playing Hengao - "strange faces" - with Akane the drummer, which is making funny faces to try and put someone off. Akane, of course, laughs along while not missing a beat. It shows the ladies' confidence in each others' abilities that they can fool around like this while all of them slam out note-perfect Rock at full tilt. At 4:10 - MISA the bassist is holding her plectrum in her curled finger so she can produce it and switch from slapping to picking in half a nanosecond! At 5:27 - Akane the drummer smiling happily while hitting two separate beats on her double kick pedals while simultaneously continuing the song melody on her snare, toms and cymbal. At 7:22 - a brief glimpse of Kanami laying down one sweet rolling chord pattern - pure class. 🤘🤘 Subscribed to watch your fall down the Pigeon Hole (the Band--Maid rabbit hole). There is a 30 second drum solo from Akane on the live performance of FREEDOM (yes, she laughs and smiles throughout!). Many people watch this video and exclaim, 'Insane!' I felt the same way when I first watched this video a few years ago. However, after watching many of their videos and streaming live performances, and seeing many TH-camrs exclaiming 'insane!' as well, I started to think, 'Maybe they're just normal, and it's actually us who are insane.'😅 Anyway, recently, I've been able to smile and accept flyers from women in maid costumes handing out flyers in Akihabara without feeling strange, unlike before. Maybe she could be the next generation's super musician, you never know. 🕊️✨🥰🤘
If you haven’t heard them yet, like classic metal and thrash and want to hear a band at the top of their game, I’d also recommend MDO and Raise Some Hell by a band called Lovebites.
At this point I consider both bands to be essential viewing, but Lovebites are a lot heavier and more metal so bear that in mind. (No growly vocals, though.) Think of Maiden and Slayer played by ladies in an equally…striking set of outfits.
