Epic. Love it. Run faster…. Ya know, to break that 3!!! Great breakdown, Andrew. Makes me feel inadequate in my lack of videos and stuff…. Spring races are gonna be here soon!
Inspiring, I will go for sub 3 in the beginning of 2025 for my first marathon. Building mileage now with easy running after not running for a while. My coach uses same principals it seems like Hernan. Nice pick ups ! I got the Nike tempos and the vaporfly next % 2 for 65$ each at the Nike outlet.
@@MidLifeRunner Tbh not yet, I live in San Antonio as well after relocating in the beginning of the year from Israel. But currently I'm back in Israel due to the situation here. Any recommendations?
2- I’m impressed that you’re sharing your plan in detail while being coached, most people go offline it seems once they hire a coach. (Separate comment for the algo 😁)
That's one helluva detailed plan. It's gotta work. But I'll have to just miss sub 3 a couple more times before I give up on half-assed training, because I just haven't got the discipline yet. Need a bit more heartbreak first. I think you're going to smash it.
I love your videos, even when you don’t have time for your alter ego. Keep ‘em coming! I’ll even allow you to continue with the use of the word “v” since it is a V busy time of year and we don’t have time to speak the other syllable .
🤣 but I will go on record and let you know I would never “k” someone. Ever. With all the extra time I save saying V instead of very , eventually I will have enough time to shoot another video
It's great to see your training progressing nicely, without injuries and gaining both in fitness and confidence. Good luck on your Sunday race, will be waiting to see how it felt. I also bought the Saucony pro 3s last month (1/2 size up btw), wasn't planning to do so but at half price what was I supposed to do, not buy them🤣? They gave me a bit of a hotspot on my left forefoot during the first two workouts I used them, but in the third one and during the HM race they were great. They are my first "real" supershoes, (my previous racing shoes being the puma elites v1 which are great but not so "super"), and the main thing that absolutely surprised me is not so much the performance, but that after the workouts and even after the half marathon race, they left my feet feeling absolutely fresh. That was something that I've heard so many reviewers say about supershoes, but actually experiencing it myself was truly amazing.
I am PRETTY sure my max hr is 197 as well (haven't seen higher for the last 2-3 years). I usually use 173 bpm as my "uh oh" heartrate if I see that too early on. Good luck in your last couple weeks, hopefully cooler temps are on the way.
@@videos-gl2qq I’ve used chest strap and wrist based. I don’t use any formula, I just look at my highest heart rates over a period of a few years on hard workouts. I consistently see 190-197 at least once every week or two. I have the apple ultra and see way fewer outliers with that than I do with chest strap.
Looking fit if your holding 170 for gets of 5miles/8km thats very good actually & youre not tapered yet. Exactly X or "sub threshold/ m.p heartrate is essentially just under the start of Anaerobic metabolism. Averaging 86% max.hr is basically perfect efficiency if 1 has done the prep. My true max is 199. M.p h.r is 173av. Cheers youre in a good place. I see youre 2:58-2:59 being a reality this time. 🎉🎉😊
Tuesday for sure. Also on Friday. But super heavy Tuesday for 3-4 reps and heavier for 1-2 reps Friday. Except I always kill calves - and Friday is a lot of shin work. Glute med and strengthening imbalances. Wednesday is chest and Sunday is arms if I go on Sunday. I’ve been running 5 days a week so there are two off days
My max HR that I have recorded is 205 during an all out 5k. I ran the Berlin marathon in 3:20 at an avg of 188 bpm HR which is about 92% of HR max. In 2022 I ran NYC in 4:02 at 181 bpm. Can anybody explain how did I sustain such a high heart rate for so long? Or is my actual max HR well into 210-220’s?
🤷🏻♂️ there’s no telling. Well, maybe there is but I’m not a scientist. I will say my HR for my last two half marathons are in that 89-91% of max HR. Which is where it says it should be
I’ve seen it a couple times during max effort runs like an all out mile on the track. I’ll 187-194 on most 5k effort work outs . Especially in the heat and humidity of south Texas
I just went sub 3:00 at CIM. Your training is looking very good.

The world is going to get what we can give it! 💪🏼 I’m trying to enjoy it, regardless of the pace. Carry the ultra torch!
Love it! Good report. Looks like the plan is working. Good to hear.
I like the days of thunder reference!
good progress. i'm running HouMara too. nice deals on the new shoes. keep it up
Let’s gooooo! Should be a great time. I don’t think I’ll do my own shake out run. I’ll likely tag along kofuzi since he said he will do one

Those are great pick ups. Do you know which race you’re going to do your first marathon?

They add up! Missed the time trial goal today but I think I know the adjustments that will be coming

Thanks for the feedback, Legend. Do you go up or down in size frequently or was this a one time type of deal?
@@MidLifeRunner I've had to 1/2 size up in this one, new balance fuelcell shoes (rebel v2, v3, supercomp v1) and the On cloudsurfer.

Well, that certainly is affirming on the HR front . 173-177 is my unofficial threshold range, I have decided but idk. I try to do easy runs 125-140.
do yall subscribe to the estimate 220 - yourAge = maxHR? what you guys are 23? Also are u using chest strap? Wrist based HR seems inconsistent to me.

@@jamesduysen9078 cool. nice. that's some good data to track over yrs
Curious how you’ll like the Pro3. On the fence about getting it. Have a wide foot and would have to size up.
Thanks for the heads up Joe! Looking forward to trying it out

Where do you fit leg strength training in your plan? I don’t like running that much because it’s hard to fit 2 leg days in a plan! 😢

How do you know 197 bpm is your max heart rate? Did you test in the lab or did some test yourself? Very curious!
220 - yourAge is the basic estimate

1- Great video, despite holding that clip-on microphone the entire time (drove me nuts LOL)
I should probably really invest in an actual microphone . Maybe 🎅🏼 will come througb
for the algo
Wow 197 is a high max heart rate for a mid life runner.
Young at heart!!
