Happy birthday to you Yos. It can be really rough to be in such a position regarding you and your family. I've got folks in a similar boat with their fam and ultimately it's just a process you gotta take a day at a time. What helped my boyfriend was the love and support I could give him. That he can know that he's good and that he's "enough" so to speak. That and helping him to have more of what makes him happy and things to give him hope. Trauma isn't something that can magically be fixed in a day, but over time we can have more good memories to outnumber the bad ones. I wish you both the best.
