Well cheer is more about people you like, I'm going to a private high school and In sophomore year i was in the cheer team..the other girls were bitchy, only wanted pretty people in the team and picked only their favorites to be in the team. Which is why the team was really popular. I got in since i was cool with most of the girls there and i could do quite a bit of cheer, (it was probably mainly because i was friends with most of them) *Not saying Every cheerleading team is like this, i'm just saying how mine was like*
Meredith's dance is very common in all star cheer and also even in high school gym LOL. As a cheerleader, I def questioned alexi too because her cheer was just not cheerlike because it wasn't sharp
Its hard to explain but in cheer there are certain moves that are in a cheer dance routine that make it looks lile a cheer routine rather than dance also cheer is sharper and more almost separated moves but dance is more fluid less separation I do if that made sence
I'm a cheerleader myself and I questioned ellie the most because we didnt get to hear her cheer. But I definitely agree on your statement but all star is mostly dance level

as I gymnast, I don’t need to stretch for anything unless it requires back flexibility, like a back handspring. So I can whip out a back tuck at any time. But, I totally understand your point.
Almost every competitive team doesn’t have a fight song or dance. So as a competitive cheerleader she really didn’t have anything else to do. She also said she was a flyer so it made sense.
Honestly as someone who had cheer, you sense a cheerleader very easily- yeah she may not have done much in the video but the way she held herself and spoke just screamed cheerleader.
heel streches and bow and arrows are a staple part of cheerleading especially for flyers, like she mentioned she was, and a lot of non cheerleaders don't know the proper names so it made sense not to vote her out. Alexi was an easy vote considering that she had the form of a gymnast and didn't connect her jump to her tuck, which instantly stuck out to me.

I feel pride in the fact that when Alexi did her straddle tuck the moment she stepped back i new she wasn’t a cheerleader and was gymnast. (I’m a competitive gymnast myself)

I did cheer, gymnastics, and dance. I’m currently a club coach (all star), a judge, and a defending worlds champ heading back to florida. I knew it was Alexi in the first round. In her demo, her elbows were apart in the clap, her high v positioning over rotated from her shoulders, she hopped into the bend for her jump, her arm positioning alternated from a high v to a T and back to a high v, she swung her arms backwards out of the jump into the tuck prep while all star swings forward, her set for the tuck was a gymnast set reaching back, she didn’t stick a standing tuck which is key in club, her fingers were a mile apart in the stand. The gymnastics style of tumbling is so different from the all star cheer style. Not better or worse, just different. When she did her dance later, it was confirmation. Her rhythm was nearly not existent. I believe she is a tiny/mini tumbling coach in an all star program and most likely in prep or level 1 which focuses on blocking, inverting comfortably, and straightening the legs - child’s play for a gymnast. But had she said her own cheer experience was as a school cheerleader rather than all star, I wouldn’t have been so sus of her execution - as school cheer tumbling tends to be more influenced by gymnastics tumbling than all star, imo

But I feel like y’all forget on a cheer team you are not required to know how to tumble . It would be beneficial but it’s not required to know how to to tumble . Any cheerleader can look at her form and see it’s exactly how they teach you plus the clean she did afterwards was something you do after each move
To a cheerleader Alexi would be the most sus in my opinion. 1. Tumbling isn't usually a position you'd hold (and it just screams gymnast answer) if someone asks your position usually they're asking if you're a flyer, back/front spot, or side base. 2. Her tuck was done in a gymnast technique and she even held her hands up for a longer time than a cheerleader would (a lot of cheerleaders don't even hold theur hands up unless they're in a competition where it's required and usually they'd put there hands back down immediately) 3. That dance/cheer just was not it
"bow and arrow" is more of a dance term. they essentially mean the same thing. but heel stretch is a cheerleading term, in a way? mainly as Alexi used "bow and arrow".

Almost every competitive team doesn’t have a fight song or dance. So as a competitive cheerleader she really didn’t have anything else to do. She also said she was a flyer so it made sense.

heel streches and bow and arrows are a staple part of cheerleading especially for flyers, like she mentioned she was, and a lot of non cheerleaders don't know the proper names so it made sense not to vote her out. Alexi was an easy vote considering that she had the form of a gymnast and didn't connect her jump to her tuck, which instantly stuck out to me.

Although I'm not a gymnast, I watched a whole lot of gymnastics and the second I saw Alexi do her flip and the way she landed and fixed herself--my mind went straight to gymnastics.

I did cheer, gymnastics, and dance. I’m currently a club coach (all star), a judge, and a defending worlds champ heading back to florida. I knew it was Alexi in the first round. In her demo, her elbows were apart in the clap, her high v positioning over rotated from her shoulders, she hopped into the bend for her jump, her arm positioning alternated from a high v to a T and back to a high v, she swung her arms backwards out of the jump into the tuck prep while all star swings forward, her set for the tuck was a gymnast set reaching back, she didn’t stick a standing tuck which is key in club, her fingers were a mile apart in the stand. The gymnastics style of tumbling is so different from the all star cheer style. Not better or worse, just different. When she did her dance later, it was confirmation. Her rhythm was nearly not existent. I believe she is a tiny/mini tumbling coach in an all star program and most likely in prep or level 1 which focuses on blocking, inverting comfortably, and straightening the legs - child’s play for a gymnast. But had she said her own cheer experience was as a school cheerleader rather than all star, I wouldn’t have been so sus of her execution - as school cheer tumbling tends to be more influenced by gymnastics tumbling than all star, imo

But I feel like y’all forget on a cheer team you are not required to know how to tumble . It would be beneficial but it’s not required to know how to to tumble . Any cheerleader can look at her form and see it’s exactly how they teach you plus the clean she did afterwards was something you do after each move
To a cheerleader Alexi would be the most sus in my opinion. 1. Tumbling isn't usually a position you'd hold (and it just screams gymnast answer) if someone asks your position usually they're asking if you're a flyer, back/front spot, or side base. 2. Her tuck was done in a gymnast technique and she even held her hands up for a longer time than a cheerleader would (a lot of cheerleaders don't even hold theur hands up unless they're in a competition where it's required and usually they'd put there hands back down immediately) 3. That dance/cheer just was not it
