I'm 37. When I was a kid I did aggressive skating EVERY DAY with my child hood friends. There was only 3 of us. But, those are some of the best memories of my life. This really inspired me to take up skating again and not GAF about what anyone says. Thank you.
Get it homie I'm also 37 about to turn 38 I skated from the time I was 10 to about 30 even won some local comps back in the day and was on a local flow team. I'm currently looking for my right pair of boots think I'm going for a pair of USD's. Anyway stay safe brother and happy rolling
It is scary at the beginning to have wheels on your feet :) just always bend your knees so you can feel your shins touching the “tongue” of the boot and you will be fine! You will learn quickly and then enjoy this fantastic sport. Have fun mate! :)
OMG you're a huge inspiration. I just turned 30, i'm a woman and i do animation for a living- I am really fearful of busting up my face and hands. My hands are my career. And I struggle with the embarrassment of being a girl in a skate park, though I know there's a lot of good people. I feel I've had a lot of people offer to teach me to skateboard, but my fear and reluctance has gotten in the way. I am worried to reach an age and look back and feel my chance has passed. Anyway, your progress at 35 is super inspiring. I really hope I can be like you!
Hi Lauren, thanks for your honest comment. I can tottaly understand your fear. It is always a real risk in the sport to get some injuries. I was there before starting kitesurfing and before I tried bmx at age 30. I don’t even know if it is true, but I have read somewhere on google that football (socer if you are from US :D ) statistically results in many more injuries than skateboarding. I also always wear pads. Wrist guards, helmet, shin guards and even crash shorts underneath my jeans. I believe it reduces the damage. All of this said - you will have to decide for yourself. Everyone that is skating is familiar with fear. It is a really big part of the game. Every time you are about to try a new trick - fear comes up. It does not matter if you are a beginner just hesitating to try or a professional affraid of that huge - being afraid, building your confidence up and then overcoming that fear and being super excited about that is the key driving force of this sport! If you will decide to try it - try it safe, pad-up, find someone experienced in teaching to hold your hand. Learn the basics and don’t do stuff that is over your head, build it up step by step. Now that “girl in a skatepark” thing is just silly :) The truth is - everyone at the skatepark are too busy with them selves. They worry “what will others think about me if I grind makio without a grab” more than a girl in a skatepark. I really doubt you will ever encounter someone telling you anything negative about a girl that skates. And if you will - screw that moron! As an artist you probably know that your style won’t satisfy everyone, nor that it should. Skating is an art - expressing your self through a motion. Similarly, before you develop a certain style you have to learn the basics. A lot of them :) Wish you all the best of luck!
You make me wanna start playing this again, i left this beautiful sport for almost 13yrs cause of work ! Now im 36. Im going to start again!!! Thank you!
Sure do that! You will pick it up in no time. If you live anywhere next to a bigger town there are probably some of your buddies back on skates as well :)
Hey man, I'm 39 and I gotta thank you for this video. I've been wantin/ needing to do aggressive skating again. This inspires me. I'll definitely get some shin guards since that my main concern at the moment lol.
I turn 39 in a week and I’m considering learning to skate again. When I was a kid, I was pretty good at it, but I’ve had a lot of physical damage over the years and i’m way overweight now. I’m not sure if I’d just break myself by trying again, but I do miss it. Thank you for posting your video and being up front with the age, it really means a lot to me and helps me to make my decision as to whether or not i’m going to pursue it again.
Such nostalgia for me… I’m 39 and wish I could relive those days in the 90s as a teen in HS… I had some Rollerblade Boxcars… tweaked up w 62mm and 56mm wheels, abec 3 bearings, and grid plates… but alas, split my nuts soul grinding an 8 foot stair case rail. And let’s just say from that day forward I knew I still wanted to have kids… I still recreationally in-line skate and the rinks, but I miss the hardcore days! Great video
I'm 40 and I've been thinking about getting back into it... I used to skate in highschool and college, but I feel like I'd get odd looks or something if I started back again now... I still really want to though... Big ups on your vid bro
When you are 40 - you are big enough to not care about the odd looks mate :) For me it feels like “back in the day”, same fun :) just body a bit less capable of doing stuff. Thanks mate and hope to see you rolling!
Ive seen others older than that and nobody gives them odd looks. One guy told me to guess how old he was at a park long ago i guessed he was 27 or 28 he said 43 so dont assume your age will matter if anyone does ask say you are doing it for fun and exercise I think best thing is to go with someone else similar age range until you feel comfy.
Do it, compared to the builds we had avail to us back then (I'm 37myself), its childsplay to lock grinds in. Took my kids to a park b4 covid started and was crushing it after about 15min warm up. Kids in the park were chill and were shocked when I told em it's been 17 years since on skates. Dont expect to be able to move much the next day though brother 😂😂😂
Very cool! I'm 42, used to skate aggressive inline back in the 90s, and I'm thinking about getting back into it. My only apprehension is getting hurt, as I'm an artist and can't afford to hurt my hands, wrists and arms, and I also train Tai Chi every day and getting hurt would affect my training too. I also have a back nerve injury from grappling that's healed, but I am worried about re-injuring it again. Watching a lot of skate videos online can be a bit deceiving at times as I mostly see edited clips of people presenting their best attempts, but then I see some people showing how they continually fall and get injured, and then I'm reminded of the fact that injuries are a reality and are typical in this activity... But skating is also so much fun... Ugh, what to do...
Hey mate, unfortunately no one will decide for you :) we have a saying “if you are afraid of a wolf - do not go to the forest”. At the same time there is no harm in rolling around on some flat setup on some ramps wearing decent wrist guards and knee pads :)
@@VandKoala Sure mate, I'm quite capable of making my own decisions... just sharing my frustrations with wanting to skate aggressive while worrying about how injuries might affect my career as an artist... my hands essentially being my bread and butter.
dude!! I am 42 and I am looking into starting aggressive inline. This has been an inspiration!! I can totally relate to chronic knee pain...hahahaha...and I haven't even started yet. I will say also that I NEVER thought about getting shin guards....what a great idea!!!! You have saved my legs for sure!!!! I hope you post more videos....it would be great to share and learn from your adventure! Never too old my friend.
That's the spirit mate! Maybe some knee pain, but also mental release :) Get shin guards for grinds, wrist guards for keeping them in one piece and a helmet - you know, just in case :) The next best thing is a practice box/rail where you can grind your grinds and then the only thing that matters is having fun and persistence :)
@@VandKoala Can I ask what skates you got to start on? and if you recommend them or could you point me in the right direction? preferably something under 200€...
Amazing progression! Wish I could say the same for myself lol but alas it's all for the fun of it! Thanks for all the work you put into this channel and the inline community!
Hey mate, I can see myself that first year progression is the fastest one :) It is slowing down as time goes, but the fun factor stays the same! Thanks for your continuous support.
Haha I really enjoy seeing so many people getting back into it :) would be cool to have a session with the same guys we were jumping down the stairs like 22 years ago or so :)
We will find out if late can be too late, stopped skating about 15 years ago when I started sticking snowballs in my groin. Am done with that now but my legs are so battered ! I can't skateboard anymore two weeks and I take my skates to the bowl see if it's too late
Awesome video man. I am 38 and still trying to learn basic aggressive tricks since I started last year :) And yes you're right about the royales! Hahahaha! I am also having a very hard time on that right now.
Nice mate, glad to hear there are so many people taking this sport being more than 10 years old :) And royales will just click one day and become easy :) For me it was my shoulder position that fixed them - as soon as I turned my both shoulders to face the obstacle royales became easier. Filming in slow motion and analyzing helps really a lot :)
Hey man, great video and awesome progress! I have just started skating again at 36 after not doing it since my late teens. It's wicked to be back on blades again. Keep shredding and having fun!
So awesome to see everyone getting back to inline skating!!! I’m 32 and haven’t strapped in since I was about 15. Getting my new pair of DH2’s today and I cannot wait to shred it up again!!
@@VandKoala oh no my friend, I meant I haven’t put on blades on over 17 years. The DH2s I got feel great but perhaps I’m just not used to the newer style wheels because they seem extremely sluggish and rubbery almost. Hard to really get speed unless you’re constantly pushing. 6 or 7 good pumps barely gets you to roll on your own :/ perhaps the 92A are a bit too stiff? Idk. In either case I’m stoked to be skating again and my 5 year old is enjoying it as well!
Great work man! I tried it a few weeks ago. Im also 35 yrs. And.. I forgot everything on the Park. Skating flows on Asphalt. But in the Park i am afraid of grinding and Drop in. So i think i need a lot of time and work to get back into it!
Man nowadays skates are made easy. Wider soleplate, groove block. As others, we went through the pain of hitting our chins trying to pull a soul grind and just getting off balance trying to pull frontside when blades didn't have groove at all. It's never too late to start and it's nice to see that either in the 90's or now, the essence still there... Defying the norm and having fun.
Oh yes, antirocker frames are so forgiving :) if you land somewhere around on it - you are fine! But there is still a lot pf learning to do and fun to have.
Awesome dude. I used to inline. Even did a couple regional competitions. I'm also 35 now and have had the itch to give it another go. Let's see. Keep it up 👍
I’m 34, quit skateboarding a few years as the injuries were taking too long to heal and also getting in the way of work. Just got a new concrete park by my house, thinking of getting into blading. Only one person in the 90’s around here used to street blade the kerbs.
I re-started blading at 35 too but more in a freeskate way, after 12 years break. And now i am 37 and i had doubt about restarting aggressive inline. But you confort me in the idea that age can't be a limit. Thanks, i just got my new pair of skates and enjoy it.
Nice man! I think age is not a limiting factor as long as you are willing to take a bit of a slower pace :) I am enjoying a 30-60min freeskate session now and then, but since I started aggressive I can't stop doing that :) If you ever did aggressive skating - it should be easy :) I saw many people coming back and quickly surprising themselves in how much they can do. I am a total noob and still can learn a thing or two!
Look your life is probably more stable now, u dont move much, u keep same girlfriend/wife and have a routine (work/freetime). Just use all the padding available, stretch well and keep fit u will be fine !
Hey great job on the royales 👍🏻. I remember I first learned those on a bike rack as a kid. It was designed in such a way that it had a flat bar laying right on the ground for about 10-15 ft. Perfect for learning royales with little risk. It helped immensely and I was so excited when I got that trick down. Something about it. I just loved how they looked and I thought if I could get that trick then I'm officially a rollerblader. Keep up the great work
Thanks mate! This year I am pushing the miniramp and coping stuff for now, small injuries are stopping me a bit though :) anyways, moving forwards is the way! Thanks for the support
Man, that's exactly what I needed to watch. I am 36 and I am trying to start aggressive inline skating, but I am too scared to try. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good job!
Thanks, bro! Don't worry too much. Just take it at your own pace, start doing things one at a time. Start on smaller obstacles - you will fall a couple of times here and there, but if it is from 20cm you shouldn't die :D Protect your head with a helmet, I always use wrist guards as well (Powerslide city brace is awesome). Make small goals and learn one thing at a time.
Great job dude! I got back into skating at the age of 34, I was away for 20 years. The basics stuck with me thankfully but it was definitely a process getting my body adjusted to being capable of skating confidently. I'm 36 now and am still at it. I try to push myself as best I can but falling sucks at this age, ha. I'm just glad I'm healthy enough to keep doing something I love and it's important for kids to see people rollerblading. I'm literally 1 of two people who "aggressive" skate in my town. Lots of kids have never seen it before and they get hyped at my small tricks. It's really cool having a group of 12 year old scooter kids getting hyped and congratulating me. These kids are completely unaware of the rivalry from the 90s.
Wow man sounds so familiar. I have been to a skate park were little kids were super excited about my little grinds as well 😂 and I know what you mean that’s falling is different. In the same way as you I am committed to continue and I have just built a midsize mini ram in my backyard. Super stoked to progress on coping as well!
Great video and great progress in one year! It's frustrating, addictive, painful, joyful and satisfying all at the same time sometimes. Your determination and enjoyment really show through in your videos!
Find a parking garage with a roof if there are any nearby and make yourself a small P-rail :) That is shit compared to a skatepark, but definitely better than nothing!
i’m 34, was into aggressive skating when i was 11-14. I just picked up a pair of aggressive skates recently and i’m slowly getting back into it! Your video is inspirational, i can’t wait to get at your level🤙🏽
Hearing it from you sounds like music to my ears :) as your channel was the top 1 on “tips”, “hints” and “how-tos”. I hope you will keep at it as well so I can learn more :)
@@VandKoala Thanks, you're 🤟'm going to get the ser into this soon. It's like riding a bike, you don't forget when I've been riding a bike since I was 4 😁
Yoooo sick. I'm definitely inspired. I've been skateboarding for 24 years and am going to start riding aggressive skates for the first time. It looks really fun. I need to know what it feels like to just ride even. Can't wait to see how good I can get. Oh i'm 30 btw.
That is unseen for me - skateboarder turning into inline skater :D I tried skateboarding at some point and it definitely felt harder to learn tricks. I am sure you will be grinding in no time. There will be some learning curve, but hey, you know how it goes - time spent practicing is what defines success
@@VandKoala Skateboarding is very hard. Like just doing a 360 on flat is so much work and a solid trick to do on flatground. THIS however leads people to mindlessly start the, "Skateboarding is harder so it deserves more respect." Crap. Skateboarding is so limited. Movement wise you're stuck on the plank and grining handrails is difficult and counter intuitive. Rollerblades were like a perfect fit for grinding PERIOD. People don't talk about the LIMITS of the 2 different disciplines. Skateboard 180s down big gaps are pretty crazy and 360s are crazier. Rollerblades can push PAST that. BOTH are difficult when you start reaching their limits of possibility. Rollerblading is just easier to get started that's the only "easy" think about it. Once you start messing with ANY Topside grinds you can die. Lol SUPER excited to take my skateboarding skills to this.
Thank you man. I remember when I went out for maybe my 3rd ride after many years there was a guy passing by and when he looked at me skating - I knew he could relate as well. I bet he tried skating again :D Have fun skating and best of luck to you to man!
awesome! i've been thinking about maybe trying it again, last time i skated and tried a trick was probably 15 years ago if not a little longer! that's a good idea on that simple rail you built, i used to have a metal one that was raised about a foot on one end so it had a little slope and that thing always scared the shit out of me so i just stuck to curbs, i don't know why i never thought to build a flat pvc rail like you did, i might go to the hardware store later and get the parts
Good stuff your doing great for a year on aggressive skates. I’m also 35 but I have been skating since 95, still love it all the same. Looking forward to doing more aggressive this year!
Hehe then you must be one of those guys that I am looking at with a lot of envy when you just “effortlessly” lock onto any grinds :) thanks man for the support
I'm turning 35 on November first and I gave myself my first pair of agressive in-line, I don't know how your video got on my freed... But thank you so much youtube. Keep up the great work man!
Hi Jose, I do not know how, but I only saw your comment now after 3 weeks :O Thanks for the comment man, and enjoy the skating. It keeps me sane during these times!
@@VandKoala Just keep doing your thing, you're clearly a very fast learner. Im 37 and have been skating since I was 8/9. And who said its a young mans game. You DA man bro :)
I got into downhill and bmx after 40. I have snowboarded all my life. Actionsports are important to stay fit of mind, maybe not so much body, as both my knees are quite shattered. I have come to realize the pain is just something I have to live with to enjoy flying through the air
That is true - some pain is here to stay… lifting weights became mandatory for me to be able to do action sports - that aleviates pains. Inline skating can be pretty “easy” on joints if you flow more than drop :)
The pain, many years ago. Still have my Razors Elliot 3 Pro Skate and Harbinger protective gear and am now over 50. Great video! Subscribing to see more awesome videos in the future to come.
@@VandKoala Thinking of taking another shot at it before I die (dislocated shoulder, knee blown injuries during many vert sessions). First, winter has to end and come spring, gonna order me a helmet first. Thx!
One trick from an old agressive blader: loosen the skates just a wee bit from the top/cuff (calf area) it will feel strange at the beginning and intimidating, but then you'll catch yourself cruising through tricks easily and adding more to your repertoire with less pain and bruises! And in no time.
I was skating from 16-23 .... Got In the best shape of my life and competed in xgames.... Now I'm 46 going to try to get back into it ... Should be funny watching a 6 foot 4 black guy doing misty flips and flat spins all over the place 😂😄
I also just got back into it after 16 years of not skating! It feels weird at first and your body definitely isnt the same as it was when we were 16! But baby steps and make small goals for yourself. perhaps on your first day is just to skate around, then the next day, practice jumping, then skating backwards, then dropping in a small ramp, then little grinds. Thats how you progress!!
Man I used to skate all the time as a kid in the 90s and early 2000s.. Never learned to grind rails or anything, but i had a lot of fun. I just got my youngest daughter her first pair of skates, and i was thinking of getting myself some too. THIS VIDEO REALLY INSPIRES ME! Because I always wanted to learn aggressive inline, and now that it's on my mind again I almost just got regular skates because I figured at my age there is no way I can still learn to skate like this and grind and do the whole skate park thing...but you're a couple years older than me, so I'm really glad that means I STILL HAVE A CHANCE! Thanks for posting this video, man! I'm definitely subscribing to your channel, and I'm going to keep up with your journey to help me through mine. Keep it up, you're doing freaking awesome bro!
Hey man so kind of you, thanks! Inwas completely at the same situation as you. As kids in Soviet Union (and the first few years of indepence) we had no access to skating media or skateparks and we did not even know thst you could grind something 😂 so we rode down the stairsets, did spins and jumps. If you want to learn it - go for it. I am still learning today, trying new grinds, falling, standing up and doing it again :) you can do this for sure!
Hey, do you do the monthly challenge of aggressive inline skating that was set up by Lawrence from backtoblading? I joined recently the "online" community and every month we have to learn/demonstrate a new trick. Here is the link:www.backtoblading.com/community. I've completed 2 challenges so far. Next one to be announced on October 23rd. Join us if you're not already part of it!
Hey man. When I was a teenager I rode aggressively for 3 years. Now I am 38 years old and I have been freeskating for the last two years with a little three month break this year because I broke my shoulder xD. I plan to buy a pair of aggressive skates because it's never too late to have fun. Royals was always my true love tricks.. Greetings from Poland
Hey Piotr, sorry to hear about your shoulder, that does not sound great at all. Nevertheless, I hope you recovered enough to skate again! If I was able to start aggressive with no experience, I am sure you will pick it up in no time man!
Nice~~ So awesome! Inspiring!!! I'm almost 30 myself. Just getting back into the sport! Actually I'm more serious about the sport than I ever have been in my life! Thanks for your videos!!
@@VandKoala Im gonna try that out tomorrow. If I get good results I will let you know! 35 and been back on wheels for almost 4 months! just picked up the Powerslide Next 4x80(gonna be 90 soon) after watching a few of your videos. Got tired of changing my Oysi's to the Kizer trimax. And love the balance of the 275 frame when I free skate. You said you preffered the balance of the 4x90 over the 3x110. Have you tried a 4x100 setup? Maybe a great balance between big and small? Or do you the 4x90 is close enough?
Awesome progression man! I'm 36 and about to get back into it after 20 years. With 30kg extra weight these days i do worry i may break in half haha but watching this gives me some hope. Wish me luck lol.
A little older than you are. Used to skate a lot when i was 15-20+.... Got me a new board 2 years ago. There is one major difference. If i slam nowadays i feel the pain. And i feel it for a week.
I was a pro aggressive inline skater in the mid-90s (see The Hoax2) and at almost 50, I wouldn't get back into it out of fear of hurting myself. Injuries just take a little longer to heal than when you're 20, as you've learned. You're doing great for someone who recently started! Keep having fun and stay safe! Check out my TH-cam channel when you get the chance!
Yea, i'm 33 on Monday - 21 years since i last skated, ur videos made me want to do it again! Thanks for the video personally, tho' my body after a couple of runs would disagree :P Hooked up with a pair of Aeon 60 basic skates - helmet and all-a-round safe guards .. ( forgot the albows :P first time slam on it will make u remember )
Nice man, go do that for sure! Elbows are kind of less important than wrists and shins for me :) knees probably next and only then elbows. I have successfully skated 2 months with no knee pads, but with shin guards :)
This gets ne sooo hyped! I started back in June and have been watching other peoples videos to learn. Blading is so much fun. I also struggle with royales but its only been a month since i started doing them.
I am so enjoying the fact that there are a lot of people starting blading a bit older than 10 year old :) I am feeling better and better on royales, but many tricks just do not happen quickly. I think that there is something about balance, concious body position, muscle strenght and even joint flexibility that need to adapt to the grind position. Every time I jump for royale I am telling myself to turn the body sideways-shoulders have to face the rail. That was the biggest finding for me and still today it defines if I will land a royale or not more than anything else :) Enjoy the process man and thanks for your comment!
Very nice progress, this is inspiring as I just received my first pair of agressive skates... Good luck with your torn meniscus, had mine operatated some years ago, which was no problem, except doing injections to myself afterwards... If you have no pain you might be lucky though... Keep on rolling!
@@VandKoala Thank you! Certainly no royals, as it looks like a more difficult parallel slide... Makio also looks anything but easy but thank you for the tip, guess you can do all kinds of soul tricks after...
@@VandKoala I didnt skate much for last 5-6 years, but I have a feeling I will come back because of my older son. Well he is only three years old but loads of energy. Actually few days ago I ordered him first pair of skates, so soon we will see how this goes.
Just when I'd had kids I pretty much stopped skating. Was on the verge of grasping grinds. Biggest setback is the fear of knee damage. I think the best way to get a different understanding/more relaxed approach of grinding is sliding on socks on laminate or shoes on wet tiled floor. You'll find that midpoint. Push how far you can hold it. Practice keeping stability with your feet at different angles as you push to get as low as possible each time. You may be surprised with how the muscle memory transfers. Thanks for the vid. Soon as I invest in some decent pads I'm back on it.

I also always wear pads. Wrist guards, helmet, shin guards and even crash shorts underneath my jeans. I believe it reduces the damage.
All of this said - you will have to decide for yourself. Everyone that is skating is familiar with fear. It is a really big part of the game. Great video
It was painful to read the rail experience :) but good to hear you are still skating man. Maybe you can still jump on some smaller rail? :)
We've all been there, the soul-taking-rail-splitting....spent alot of time at Cal Berkeley skating
Definitely, I got some sways a few weeks ago and been enjoying after so long of a break!
Bro I'm 33 years old and I've got nearly a year into city skating, man you CAN do it.
SOOO PROPPER MY DUDE!! just ordered my first skates im 29 and ur vids hype me up man keep shredding!!!
Yeah mate, way to go! :) Nice to see so many people getting on wheels! Amazing
You are my hero, I’m just a little older than you and used to skate, I would love to find the courage to get back out there!
Hi man, just put some skates on your feet and you won’t need any courage (just some forgotten muscles) :) it is really fun :)
This Is absolutely brilliant! Shows how with persistence and patience how difficult things can be overcome
Hey I'm turning 35 this year and am also wanting to practice some grinds! Never too late!
Haha I really enjoy seeing so many people getting back into it :) would be cool to have a session with the same guys we were jumping down the stairs like 22 years ago or so :)
27 right here and I use love blaring in my teens. It’s so fun.
@@VandKoala Sucks but the kid I grew up with and used to skate with died a few years ago :(
We will find out if late can be too late, stopped skating about 15 years ago when I started sticking snowballs in my groin. Am done with that now but my legs are so battered ! I can't skateboard anymore two weeks and I take my skates to the bowl see if it's too late
Exactly
I'm glad, I'm not the only 36 yr old learning how to do grinds. Awesome inspiration video!
I think there are more of us than we think :) thanks man!
Awesome video man. I am 38 and still trying to learn basic aggressive tricks since I started last year :) And yes you're right about the royales! Hahahaha! I am also having a very hard time on that right now.
Nice mate, glad to hear there are so many people taking this sport being more than 10 years old :)
And royales will just click one day and become easy :) For me it was my shoulder position that fixed them - as soon as I turned my both shoulders to face the obstacle royales became easier. Filming in slow motion and analyzing helps really a lot :)
as a 32 year old just learning this is great motivation
Nice work and progresses. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Wish you lots of fun 👍
Your progress over a year is amazing! Can't wait to see how you progress next year. 😎
Thank you mate, I hope there will be some :)
Awesome video Joe. Brilliant skating and awesome photography.
Thank you very much mate!
We are jealous of the ones like you, who never stopped skating 😂 as you are way too good now compared to us 😂
@@VandKoala oh no my friend, I meant I haven’t put on blades on over 17 years.
@@HelloDarknessCreations softer bigger wheels are better for speed
Great work man!
I tried it a few weeks ago. Im also 35 yrs.
And.. I forgot everything on the Park.
Skating flows on Asphalt. But in the Park i am afraid of grinding and Drop in.
So i think i need a lot of time and work to get back into it!
Haha, that is the fun part - working for dropins and so on again :) keeps your head busy and positive :)
Good work man. I'm soon 40 and getting back into skating 25 years later 👍
Thanks man. It is so great to see so many people getting back to it. Inline skating has been reborn :)
This video was AWESOME! Keep skating an learning. Your royals are super nice. Cheers!
Hey man thanks! Very kind of you. Merry Christmas :)
Awesome dude.
I used to inline. Even did a couple regional competitions.
I'm also 35 now and have had the itch to give it another go.
Let's see.
Keep it up 👍
Do it for sure mate! You will be back on tracks in no time :)
I’m 34, quit skateboarding a few years as the injuries were taking too long to heal and also getting in the way of work.
Just got a new concrete park by my house, thinking of getting into blading.
Only one person in the 90’s around here used to street blade the kerbs.
Same here man. Sounds like a fun time tbh
Love it ! I’m 35 and just getting back into it , awesome video
Thanks man, welcome back to the sport! It is so cool that so many of us are back on skates!
Keep up the great work
It's been awesome seeing you and your family progress! You guys have learned so much and it's been motivating watching you all grow! Keep it up!
Thanks man! Oh I can see you are back with a new vid as well. I hope you and the fam are doing great?!
Awsome! it's visible how your moves became more dynamic and smoother after such a short time. Good progress in one year, keep goin man!
Haha love your description of how skating feels 😂 now I need to show my determination to not skate and heal that knee once and for all :)
I'm 32 and started skating aggressive last year before the plague, now that skate park were closed... wish I could practice as you did.
Find a parking garage with a roof if there are any nearby and make yourself a small P-rail :) That is shit compared to a skatepark, but definitely better than nothing!
A P-Rail will be perfect.
i’m 34, was into aggressive skating when i was 11-14. I just picked up a pair of aggressive skates recently and i’m slowly getting back into it! Your video is inspirational, i can’t wait to get at your level🤙🏽
Welcome back then mate, it is a great fun and a decent exercise as well :) have fun and enjoy the process!
I loved watching this from start to finish.. #Wholesome
Great job on your progress over the last year mate we’ll done your channel is one of my favourites to watch keep the videos coming cheers
That is very kind of you :) I will do my best to keep them coming
You've come a long way my friend. Its been great watching you develop and lace the royal! Keep at it man!!!
Hearing it from you sounds like music to my ears :) as your channel was the top 1 on “tips”, “hints” and “how-tos”. I hope you will keep at it as well so I can learn more :)
I'm 21, I'm going to skate again next month after about five years of hiatus. Keep your fingers crossed, the video motivated me again. Thanks ✌️
Hey man have a great session! It will almost feel like yesterday :)
That is unseen for me - skateboarder turning into inline skater :D
I tried skateboarding at some point and it definitely felt harder to learn tricks.
I love this. I was a pretty good skater 20 years ago, but starting back again, I can relate to this video a lot. I wish you the best of luck.
Thank you man. I remember when I went out for maybe my 3rd ride after many years there was a guy passing by and when he looked at me skating - I knew he could relate as well. I bet he tried skating again :D Have fun skating and best of luck to you to man!
Lots of respect for the helmet and pads!💯
These things let me skate more/longer :)
aah i just remembered the pains of learning my royales on a concrete ledge .. hats off to you Sir
Yeah it can take some time and bring in a bit of frustration :D thank you!
awesome! i've been thinking about maybe trying it again, last time i skated and tried a trick was probably 15 years ago if not a little longer! that's a good idea on that simple rail you built, i used to have a metal one that was raised about a foot on one end so it had a little slope and that thing always scared the shit out of me so i just stuck to curbs, i don't know why i never thought to build a flat pvc rail like you did, i might go to the hardware store later and get the parts
It is an easy project and really great for learning/remembering the basics :) have fun mate!
Nice dude 💪
You progress pretty fast! Keep on blading
Thanks bro! I am on it :)
I just turned 32.
I'm getting back to skating. It's been 20+ years the last time I put some on.
Welcome to the club mate! It feels great doesn’t it?
Good stuff your doing great for a year on aggressive skates. I’m also 35 but I have been skating since 95, still love it all the same. Looking forward to doing more aggressive this year!
Hehe then you must be one of those guys that I am looking at with a lot of envy when you just “effortlessly” lock onto any grinds :) thanks man for the support
from one skater to another....love your content.
Miss skating! Cool to see you doing it. Great job! 🤘🏼
Broooooo...your dedication and is awesome. Salute
Thank you bro! It is easy to dedicate as it is so fun :)
Amazing progression, Killing it! Keep it going.....
Thanks man! I am trying to keep it going :)
@@VandKoala Just keep doing your thing, you're clearly a very fast learner. Im 37 and have been skating since I was 8/9. And who said its a young mans game. You DA man bro :)
Wow man I’m from ny and seeing how beautiful those skates park are i wanna travel out there 😩
It always looks better when it is further man :) But traveling is always a good idea (when the damn covid goes away) :)
I've loved following you guys! You've had amazing progress this year and you're video editing is definitely great. Thanks for sharing =D
Hey mate, thanks a bunch! We follow your inspiring vert progress as well :)
The pain, many years ago. Still have my Razors Elliot 3 Pro Skate and Harbinger protective gear and am now over 50. Great video! Subscribing to see more awesome videos in the future to come.
You still skating?
Thank you for the support!
@@VandKoala Thinking of taking another shot at it before I die (dislocated shoulder, knee blown injuries during many vert sessions). First, winter has to end and come spring, gonna order me a helmet first. Thx!
@@JamesLee해외주식 that’s the spirit!!!
One trick from an old agressive blader: loosen the skates just a wee bit from the top/cuff (calf area) it will feel strange at the beginning and intimidating, but then you'll catch yourself cruising through tricks easily and adding more to your repertoire with less pain and bruises! And in no time.
Thanks mate, I did that a bit when learning royales, but probably could do a bit more :)
Good stuff brother! Just got back into blading myself! Looking forward to finding some local parks to rip up! Keep it up!
Thanks mate! Have fun skating :)
Awesome Mate!!!! Inspiring!!!!!
Appreciate bro! :)
I was skating from 16-23 .... Got In the best shape of my life and competed in xgames.... Now I'm 46 going to try to get back into it ... Should be funny watching a 6 foot 4 black guy doing misty flips and flat spins all over the place 😂😄
If you can do those tricks you will have all the respect you deserve man! :)
This was great. I'm 28 and picked up skating last year absolutely love it. This just makes me want to get some aggressive skates now :D
Sure not the same body, but the same level of fun :)
Im 38 getting back into blading heading to vegas on the 25th to skate some parks i use to skate late 90s
Man, What a feeling right?! It is a fantastic thing to do.
Thanks for this mate. I'm about the same age and am gonna buy me a pair soon.
Enjoy the ride man!
Fast progress indeed. Well done, keep going!
Thank you man!
You progressed very quickly, nicely done!
I believe it just depends on the number of hours put in :)
I want those Aeon 68’s!! You have so many pairs of skates!
I have too many pairs mate :) aeons are 60’s

Great progression! I'm still working on getting my Royale back 🙃! Great Video!
Thanks mate. Royales were a pain :) But my main mistake was my shoulders not facing the rail/box. When I figured that one out they became better :)
Really good job man! Having fun is the most important thing :)
Hey man, that’s the key! Thank you a lot :)
Awesome progression man! I'm 36 and about to get back into it after 20 years. With 30kg extra weight these days i do worry i may break in half haha but watching this gives me some hope. Wish me luck lol.
Best of luck mate, just take it at your own pace and you will be just fine! :)
A little older than you are. Used to skate a lot when i was 15-20+....
Got me a new board 2 years ago.
There is one major difference.
If i slam nowadays i feel the pain. And i feel it for a week.
It definitely hurts more, that is why I take it a bit slower and smaller :)
Great inspiring video Sir👍
Thanks mate! I am supper happy you found it inspiring :) 🙌
Awesome man ! I used to skating a lot and right when I'm old and thinking about to come back I found your video. Cheers bro!
Yeah mate, give it a try, it is great fun :) Cheers!
Thanks for the video personally, tho' my body after a couple of runs would disagree :P
Hooked up with a pair of Aeon 60 basic skates - helmet and all-a-round safe guards .. ( forgot the albows :P first time slam on it will make u remember )
Nice man, go do that for sure! Elbows are kind of less important than wrists and shins for me :) knees probably next and only then elbows. I have successfully skated 2 months with no knee pads, but with shin guards :)
What a Progress!! I love your Airs Dude!!
Thank you mate! I love doing the airs a lot :) Last session I started to learn 360 on airs :)
@@VandKoala Nice! Can't wait to see your results 😄
This gets ne sooo hyped! I started back in June and have been watching other peoples videos to learn. Blading is so much fun. I also struggle with royales but its only been a month since i started doing them.
I am so enjoying the fact that there are a lot of people starting blading a bit older than 10 year old :)
I am feeling better and better on royales, but many tricks just do not happen quickly. I think that there is something about balance, concious body position, muscle strenght and even joint flexibility that need to adapt to the grind position.
Every time I jump for royale I am telling myself to turn the body sideways-shoulders have to face the rail. That was the biggest finding for me and still today it defines if I will land a royale or not more than anything else :)
Enjoy the process man and thanks for your comment!
Great video!!! Starting next week again after 16 years 😁
Very happy for you mate! Exciting day ahead :) have fun!
@@VandKoala haha yes, i cant imagine being able to do a royale again... we will see :D

Thanks man, it was a great year :)
I'm afraid to get hurt lol my health insurance is crap. Good ol America. Have fun tho! I'm grabbing some roces next month!
That must be additional adrenaline when you don’t want to be hurt not only because of the pain, but also the insurance 😂
Love it I'm 38 and have recently picked up the skates again
Way to go mate!
@@VandKoala you're progression is fast too. I skated for around 8 years and can't do much more than you tbh.
Very nice progress, this is inspiring as I just received my first pair of agressive skates... Omg I always wanted to learn Aggressive blading but i am on inline skates for now. U are improving in insane speed. Its so inspirational
Now it has been two years mate, the speed has slowed down a lot :) it is never too late to learn!
Enjoy the ride mate!
