All of your videos help me in more ways than I can say here and this reminds me to say this: This lovely lady has over 50 tutorials at our disposal. That’s a lot of work and knowledge that we are all gleaning from her. Please subscribe to her channel .😇it helps her grow and it doesn’t cost us a thing but it will make you feel better inside to help. I myself have over 62 subs and yes I really mostly utilize daily 4 to 5 but there is new stuff to choose from constantly. The more you subscribe the better your algorithm gets. That’s good for you. Thanks as always, and have a wonderful day to all you reading this. Peggy

    This is so pretty. You make it look effortless to make. I know better! Is there a coating that you recommend putting on the copper wire to keep it looking shiny and new and keeps it from naturally patinaing? And how do I do this and not affect the stone? Thanks in advance. Denise

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Denise, thanks for a great question and comment! If you're going to work with Bare Natural Copper wire, then here's how I'd handle it.. first, build the pendant and don't worry about the copper yet. Once the jewelry is built, wash it with Luke warm water and a mild dish or hand soap, use an old toothbrush and scrub it gently all over. Rise completely and dry completely. You will notice the cleaned bare copper wire looks slightly shiny now. You can then use a polishing cloth, a Sunshine cloth works great and will be safe for your Stone too. Then when the metal is completely cleaned and dry, I use a tiny paint brush to carefully paint on a metal sealant called ProtectaClear. Here is there link ... read it all first, this is a chemical process and while it's non toxic after it cures, I suggest you make sure to open windows while working with it.... I have a video in my Articles on how to patina and polish out the wire, along with showing how I paint on the sealant. You can protect the stone with a bit of painters tape carefully shaped to the stone. I hope this helps! www.everbritecoatings.com/jewelry?gclid=CjwKCAjw6dmSBhBkEiwA_W-EoAXo5KsLtpgVeE87sf8WK26BxpSidYswY9H1FeMQlhLkuJczdHLwzRoCx9gQAvD_BwE.

      As an alternative to all this work on bare copper... you could also simply buy what is called Non-tarnish or Anti tarnish copper wire. It's already coated off the spool. The flip side is that you can't patina anti tarnish copper so that spool would be your Natural looking copper only. It won't discolor. Let me know if you have any more questions. 😍

    Another amazing piece!!!! Could I substitute 20 half round for this beauty? Ty so much!❤

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Andrea! You can do the sub, but 20g is a bit larger so it leave some gaps between the coils as they make the curve, otherwise, it'll work the same and look just as nice.

    Can I use this "chasing" method with faceted back stone?

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question, Nicholas, the point on the back of a true faceted gemstone, will not be as graceful as the flat back cab... if you use a pointed stone, it's best to make more of a loop at the bottom and only circle one wire... I don't know how deep the point is on yours, but if it's a deep one, it's better to not start with that S shape... the point goes off center there. I hope I explained that okay for you. Let me know how it goes. Thanks again!!

      There is a really good prong setting I saw on instagram... I'm sorry I don't remember who did it, but you might take a look for it... she used a really really clean setting for a round faceted gem with a really deep pavilion in the back. She has beautiful fingernails. Thanks again!
