Ha no divas in the garden. Same I pretty much bought all disease resistant reliable varieties except I couldn't resist the descriptions of the Cox Orange Pippin I had to have and can't wait to try it seems it's worth the fuss!

I love the idea of training a tall tree to lean close to the ground for easier picking. Is there a name for this? The only thing Google with give me is 2D espalier training.

Home Orchard Society is where I got my Asian pear trees and medlar scions (that I graft onto invasive hawthorn). They are a great resource.

I like ugly heirloom triploid apples. I look for the standard or xl root stocks because central U.P. I keep my first branches around 5 feet and tops no more than 8 feet. That super dwarf is like my ufo cherries. Ufo cherries are easy to net to keep birds off them.

Ohhh I have been trying really hard to figure out how difficult jujube thorns are. Do you have any thoughts on that? I'm oddly sensitive about thorns given everything you see in my space :)

Well, so far mine are less thorny than my damson plum and wayyyy less thorny than Goumi and wayyyyyyyyyy less than sea buckthorn

@@ParkrosePermaculture Oh that is SO good to know thank you!!! Are they the kind of thorns that hook and grab??? The kind that just stick out (like hawthorn) aren't as bad as the hooking kind to me... though I tend to avoid it all
