      I've always wondered if it was possible to clone a female version of Javik to save their species. I mean, Miranda's father made a female clone of himself, cloning a Prothean with two X chromosomes doesn't seem that far fetched afterwards. It just seems like a morbid end for Javik. Even if he lives, he'll live always knowing that he's the last of his race with no one to really carry on the race's legacy.

    • @bengunn9670
      @bengunn9670 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hydrogendiamond5830 technically, yes. I would not even be surprised if Protheans were cloned from their fossil DNA before (EDI calculates origin of Collectors, which means their genome is avaliable and is present in many instanses from diffirent places). However, it won't bring back their knowlege and culture.

    The thing I always wondered in the second scene is that if you romanced her, wouldn't Sheppard feel the need to give her some sort of physical sympathy . For example a hug or a kiss, these are the things that rub me the wrong way in this games cut scenes with the characters. That there is nothing different between romanced and non romanced scenes expect for a few examples.

    • @rebel1717
      @rebel1717 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Hell, maybe not even that. Maybe even have Liarra give a natural reaction to her home being destroyed, like grieving to the point of shutting everybody, including Shepard out for a while. Anything except this star wars prequel level cheap dialogue.

      Unlike tali, liara doesn’t really express herself through physical touch. In the first game, she really only does the brain meld thing bc she thinks you’re gonna die and doesn’t want regrets.
      She’s really stand-offish and it makes a lot of sense since she says herself on multiple occasions she partly became a archeologist to escape dealing with people. Remember she’s like 19 in asari years and spent her “teenage” years in caves.

    Liara: "they're dying by the millions!"
    renegade Shep: "say hello to my people and the turians too. Your race isn't the odd one out"

    • @rebel1717
      @rebel1717 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well it’s different when you promised all the sacrifice on Thessia would be worth something to truly combat the Reapers, only to have slip from under you, and have the entire planet perish because of it. The Turians, and even the Humans are still holding their ground, while the Asari were pushed to the point of planetary evacuation, or even near extinction.

  • @rebel1717
    @rebel1717 5 ปีที่แล้ว +28

    I honestly thought this moment was a wee bit cheap. The argument between Liarra and Javik was pretty good, but I really expected Liarra and Shepard’s relationship to be shaken after their defeat on Thessia. That was her home and any hope of fighting back the Reapers was stolen with the Prothean beacon, unlike Earth, which was still fighting the Reapers at that moment. Maybe Liarra could’ve had at least a moment of emotion over logic, and even be aggravated enough to kick Shepard out of her room, forcing us to leave her alone to grieve.

      I mean, they were warned for 4 years. And then decided to watch out for themselves first and then decided to join in too late. They kinda had themselves to blame, and she probably knew that.

    • @rebel1717
      @rebel1717 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tell me about it! She lost her home, the promise of finding a way to defeat the Reapers was in vain, and here she is, happily taking advice from EDI and a cheap pep talk with Shepard! It would be so much more impactful if her relationship with Shepard was shaken after their defeat, like Liarra reaching the point of forcing Shepard out of her room, and we can’t do anything except let her grieve. That would’ve been really powerful, and really make us believe their connection!

    I understand her reaction but I hated that they made that much of a fuss about it. Like... You don't see shepard crying about earth or garrus about palaven. Either liara is a spoiled baby like all asari or she's really a creator's pet. I just cannot like her.

    • @FireLordJohn3191

      If you do a bit of digging, she’s barely considered an adult in Asari years. So maybe her acting like a child is because, she still sort of is. Had a distant mother too.

    sad that "male shepard" is so without emotion, compared to the female shepard. Dragon age inquisition did a MUCH better job.

    • @Obbie40
      @Obbie40 7 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Its just a different delivery. I wouldn't say its without emotion. Sometimes female Shepard shows too much emotion if you ask me.

    • @chrisruskin6189
      @chrisruskin6189 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      nico olsen it's not emotionless it's soft and understated. I get that femshep has that low sultry voice but this performance is just as good.

    • @Lilliaace
      @Lilliaace 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      from my understanding they did boy shep voice acting first and were too worried that if the player went from one emotional end to the other (like say the "nice" option vs the "jerk" option to put it simply) that it'd be too much of an "emotional job" for realistic voice acting and everything, which is why guy shep tends to be a little bit more 'muted' than girl shep
