For those who are looking to start this quest now that the actual mount has been made available, if you do not have a quest dropping from the Molten Lord, go to the Caverns of Time and speak to Anachronos. He will give you this quest if you have the appropriate pre-requisites completed (check wowhead for the complet guide by Gnub).
This was the best guide I've come across so far, finally got it done today with the help of a friend due to Shannox mainly rageface, however best guide I've found and it actually worked. So thank you for making this guide.

For anyone about to do the Beth tilac read this first. this will be the fastest way to get the crystal consistently. unfortunatly in the video the boss casts a meteor exactly when he puts down the item on the upper level of web and its abit misleading. This is how you should do it. enter the boss room, with no gear. kill a spinner and go straight up untill boss calls a meteor making a hole you can fall to floor and take big damage to your character. once the add spawns that you need to kill, pick up your three items and go to upper webbing again and jump down the hole from the meteor untill you die. go to boss second time and once a spinner spwans kill it and go up. place item on the ground then jump down, once she casts the flamming web ability go back up and collect and die again with metoer hole.
For shannox its more less annoying if you kill rage face straight away. you still need a second target for the crystal trap but you can also get the other dog to trigger it and you can still loot the shard. lastly the item you place on the ground to get a charge doesnt need to be palced in the center of the spiral spear attack. you can reset fight by jumping off the side or into the lava but it will port you back two times and on the third you call and die

being a night elf for shadowmeld helped a lot with obtaining the fragments and reseting the fight if needed.
I wanted to mention that you can actually complete the smoldering essences (quest: Heart of Flame) part in one day rather than multiple weeks. Basically if you have any lvl 80 alts you can have them form a group and join their group. Since you just need to siphon off the body and not loot the boss, it doesn't matter that they're not lootable. As long as your alt leaves the raid before there are any kills, you can actually use this alt to reset the raid and repeat multiple times until youre finished.

@@AVA-hu4yf still works, you can do the same thing to complete delegation whilst loot locked also
If you are a mage you don't have to die, use 'Greater invisibility' and leave the area to reset the fight
for mage, mirror image works as well to spawn the fragments for shannox
if anyone is here in shadowlands 2022! if you are an druid, use the force of nature on a group of adds max range away from shannox, that way they wont kill him just the adds. you might be able to get 2 crystals in one go. I also found out that even if one of the dogs gets caught instead of you in the trap the crystal will still drop. :)

I don't know if anyone else found this out. But you can drag the dogs into the crystal trap and they will escape much faster and still drop the crystal fragment. Also great video super helpful!
i.ve been fighting shannox for 30 min and he never drops the traps so i cant complete it

As an evoker you can use classic wows target dummy to summon the crystal traps from Shannox if doing the Delegation part solo. Also you can kill rage face at the start of the fight to avoid the 30 second stun.

As a shaman take the primal elementalist talent to get better control on your earth ele for shannox, just kill rageface right away and put your earth ele on passive, when your in the trap tell it to attack the crystal to break you out right away

FOR THE LAST QUEST!
You can do this in one week if you have more ALTS which are 80lvl+ and can enter Firelands. (this is good if you have no friends :( )
Reason is that you don't need to loot bosses, you just need to use staff to siphon the essence from the corpses.
For example, I did this on my Druid (character on which I'm doing this quest), cleared all bosses on normal and heroic except Ragnaros as he is dropping the Heart of Flame
YOU CAN LOOT IT FROM RAGNAROS IT ONLY IF YOU HAVE ALL 250 ESSENCES
How to do this quest in one week?:
Clear all bosses except Ragnaros on normal and heroic difficulty on the char where you have the quest for legendary staff
Now, you are saved so you need other lockout where bosses are alive, log in, your ALT and create group in dungeon finder, for example in the custom section
Exit game or logout and log back into the char with legendary quest, go to dungeon finder and join the group you created with ALT, then log out or exit game
Login to your ALT and accept your character application in dungeon finder, logout and log back in the char with quest
Accept the invite from your ALT and again log out and log back in to your ALT, then enter the dungeon on your ALT and log out or exit game.
Last login to your char with a quest (in my case it was Druid) and enter the dungeon, all bosses are alive and you can kill them and siphon the corpses
After you cleared all bosses, leave the raid on the char with quest do the same with another ALT
Normal mode gave me around 32 essences where heroic gave me 57.
So glad I found this video! It made grabbing this mount/ legendary much easier to solo as a balance druid.
For the Delegation section. Mages can just Invis to reset the fight. Also Night Elf characters can just use Shadowmeld as well to reset the fight without having to die.
Non-NE/Non-Mage characters can also get the Precious Bloodthorn Loop from a world rare in SMV in WoD. The ring has an active that is basically Shadowmeld for the cost of 10% hp on a 5 min CD. Very useful for the Delegation segment of the quest chain since invis pots can't be used in combat, but the ring can (especially since at max level the goal isn't to actually kill the bosses at that point in the quest chain).
Your section on Shannox has quite a few things completely wrong. You DO want to get the dogs in the crystal traps. The shards drop not matter what gets trapped so long as the trap gets broken. Also you want them in the traps because unlike the dogs, the traps on players do NOT break unless something hits them. Even on a max level character they keep you stunned indefinitely until you are dead.
Fun fact: With a frost mage, when your in the crystal, you can play around with the camera and make your pet attack the crystal to free yourself.😎👌
@@Teamsonic283 yeah locks and frost mages have that advantage, just gotta remember to put the pt on passive so it doesn't just kill the boss
But how to make Shannox throw the traps? I was waiting 10 min. with my Water Elemental and nothing happened except casting Hurl Spear :/
@@danieloleksy9351 Shannox won't throw traps unless there's a 2nd target in the fight on his aggro table. You need to have your elemental actually do something to him. My usual strat is to take off all of my gear if I'm max level. You might be able to get him to recognize your ele by having it use it's ranged frost nova ability as well, but I'm honestly not sure. Usually I had it actually start the fight by hitting and helping to kill Rageface, which seemed to be enough for Shannox to realize it was even there and use all of his normal mechanics. Then you just position yourself so that Riplimb is the one that steps on the traps. Unlike players, when one of the dogs hits a trap it will auto-break out and drop shards for the quest without the need for you to die or reset the fight until you have all 3 needed and the empowered shard. Frankly, Mages probably have the easiest time finishing the Delagation portion of the quest as Frost, with Shaman coming 2nd due to Earth Ele having innate taunt aura automatically making the boss know there's a 2nd target on the aggro table (but they unfortunately don't have invis ability to reset the fight unless you get the Precious Bloodthorn Loop from WoD that works like Shadowmeld).

tips for priest, as 120 go naked, use a low shit wep or some sort, and change to your mindbender talent.
1min cd instead of 3min cooldown is HUGE (good for Shannox, Delegation)
stay close to lava, more easy to jump down if you fear a death is incoming.

Warlock Tip for Beth'tilac:
If you are struggling with getting the charged focus before she goes down and ports you down with her or if you are looking for a failsafe way of doing this... You can set your portal up on the web. Make sure you set it down and then run away from it so you don't spawn lava on it. Once she ports you down, summon your Voidwalker and let him taunt and get aggro (assuming you have all your gear off). Now you can port up top and your Voidwalker will stay down with her. You will then have all the time you want to hang out up there and get your focus. Periodically your Voidwalker will port up top with you, but she will just port him back down every time and leave you up there.
have u encounterd a problem with the alyzore fragments, i can only loot 1 and then the rest are looted as empty
Ive been looking for the starter quest for halv an hour, before finding this on wowhead:
If you are trying to locate Ziradormi for the Dragonwrath staff questline: you can just skip straight to Anachronos in the Caverns of Time and accept the starter quest (All-Seeing Eye). It appears Ziradormi is no longer in Grommash Hold, or anywhere else for that matter.

- Wait for the Drone and Kill it
- Get all 3 Fragments
- Wait 5min until she kills you
- Go to boss

OMG! You are a lifesaver! After trying no less than FIVE TIMES to do it like in the video, her constantly dropping down before I can loot the item and I have no way to get back up, and tearing my hair out because I am a druid and have no way to drop combat and I stay alive forever, I finally tried this. Worked perfectly first time. THANK YOU!! Y'all THIS IS THE WAY!

I know that it's not a great way to do it, but you can join a group and instantly disband and it will TP you out of combat to the nearest cemetery afeter 1 minute.
Yep did it with Hearthstone Reset after i got the Fragments but yeah thats the way to do it
Note for pandas, shamans and other classes with passive self sustain: review your talents before going for charging those focuses. Beth'tilac can be a problem since if you're a bouncy shaman panda with Nature's Guardian. The boss got down from the web before I could finish myself off by falling. I was around 5k hp at the time. Stood there for 5 minutes into enrage timer without gear and watched my character passively heal for 10k hp every 45 sec...

Doing this is 10.1.7, I had a friend come and help me with the Shannox part, he had a taunt to help move dogs off of where the fragment drops. The dogs can be baited into traps for quicker timing of the crystals dropping, just be careful not to accidentally kill them. Both of us removed all of our gear for this portion.

An easy solo method I found while using a mechagnome race class. Use your holograms to spawn traps, move them through the traps and this will activate a crystal, be sure to heal immediately after you spawn your clones so the boss/dog doesn't kill them immediately. You will have to wait for CD to do it again, but one of the easiest methods solo vs trapping yourself.
have you done the bethalic one? if so how, because she comes down once you put the focus and she doesnt go back up, and there are no webs to go up?
@@Lenkii yes, you have to time the spell he's casting... DBM is helpful here or just watch the cast bar, drop it and hover mouse in area its due to spawn.. And you should be good... Unless something changed because I had zero issues when I did it 3 weeks ago
@@armorykennels5108 i cheesed it but yes something has changed since she goes on ground after she casts her first detonate (or whatever it's called), she is not supposed to go down if you dont dps her.
Just trap the dogs. You get the shards no matter what breaks them. much safer than trying to worry about healing yourself.
Welp, just tried to do Delegation on a 120 Disc Priest. Got to Shannox, summoned my Shadowfiend, and uhh, within the fifteen seconds that the thing was first summoned, it killed Shannox. Trap had just been thrown down. Oops. Oh well- at least it's flex now, so I can try to get him again on Normal! After I review why my shadowfiend does so much damage within such a small amount of time, that is... I'll see if I can drag a buddy in here, see if he can help me out and act as bait so I don't have to summon anything that may kill them unknowingly. Edit: I just realized that I hadn't taken off any of my gear, so that's probably why the shadowfiend did so much damage so quickly. I hadn't had to remove gear for the other three as none of my gear has AOE or DOT and I had been careful to not tag the bosses, so I didn't remember to do that for Shannox. Whoopsies!

It seems like for bethalic it's bugged because once you go up to charge your focus you cannot go back up because she comes down for some reason..

You can create the dull focus and reset the first fight, use it on the fight once she resets so you can charge the focus on her first detonation before she drops down. This is an easy and simple work around to the bug.
End of Shadowlands update:
All gucci, you can still be a naked char (have some self respect and keep shirt & tabard) and just hit with fist a boss if needed, but actually none of them required that. They all seem to have working aggro range.
About Beth'tilac - there are a lot of adds and things happening on the screen. Highly recommend disabling Unit Frame Mouse Over Cast if you have it enabled in Interface.
About Shannox - if his dog get into trap, it lasts way shorter and it also drops the fragment. And if you are unsure if you will make it for spear throw- don't waste your fragments... But if you did use it and it didn't work, just sit on it. Chances are he will throw his spear on your location. I did is as a druid and now Force of Nature can be used just once- using it twice can kill boss.
Leaving combat - if you are a night elf, use shadowmelt to reset fight/escape. Super useful.

To any fellow priest gamers on delegation struggling to find an efficient way to get the one from shannox here's how you do it easily :
step 0 : REMOVE ALL YOUR GEAR WEAPON INCLUDED.
step 0.5 : DO NOT USE MINDBENDER, USE SHADOWFIEND.
Step 1 : Make sure you'll pull shannox close to a lava pool or ledge to facilitate the process as dying resets your shadow fiend cd.
step 2 : Do not pull shannox by hitting shannox. Use your shadowfiend on ragebait. This will kill ragebait. Now make sure you don't hit anything else and wait 14 seconds.
step 3 : When the boss timer hits 14 secs~ (1sec before your fiend goes away) punch shannox to get aggro. He'll drop a trap down immediately as your shadowfiend runs out. which means the fiend won't kill shannox in 2 hits.
step 4 : step on the trap or have the remaining doggo step on it it doesn't matter.
step 5 : as video suggests, die to reset the cd and the encounter. repeat 3 times for your shards and then you can place the gem for spear throw to finish it all off.
this has been completed today. Heart of flame (last quest) is doable in one day, scroll for comments for more info. Druid solo.

Dull Rhyolite Focus refuses to drop the quest item and insta despawns and the Alysrazor boss get the 2 pyre fragments from the first set of adds and the second group of adds the eggs dont drop anymore fragments so your stuck with 2 fragments.
I had to wait a fair while for the second set of eggs. Then another decent amount of times until Phase 4 where you put down your dull focus. I've just done it now on a druid. Try it again andif the second set of eggs never spawns maybe submit a bug report.
As of tis moment, I am finding it stupidly hard to get this done on my druid for the shannox Focus. Can't even force of nature as we can't control them now, and they 1 shot shan xD

The spider boss I couldn't spare after getting the charge :( had to kill her just to get out of the area
Also as a shaman shannox was the hardest due to waiting out primal earth elemental cool down and being sure to kill rageface often
Just go up top. wait for Beth to drop a meteor on a spot that makes a hole in the web. Then fall down that hole. Don't use the center of the web to go back down because that always tethers you down slowly. You want to fall to your death in a meteor created hole in the web.
@@OverworkedITGuy I had the same issue, she doesn't go up anymore at somepoint and the spiders dont give webs then, so was stuck there as well.
ok i know that i have look in the comments for a good minute and found nothing of the new race Dracthyr, im working on this quest day 3 of dragonflight now, you still wanna remove all your gear cuz again you will one shot the bosses. but at the 10:00 mark for this quest i had a friend/alt account help me out with it, remove gear from said player and have them stand away from you, then stand in the traps (as other player is getting their face ripped off) let said player free you from the trap and boom a crystal will be there for you to loot! rince and repeat :), sorry if this dosnt make the whole lotta since ^^"

Thanks for your video! I can't get my Chitinous Focus from Beth'thilac though. I only get a Drone at the second Smoldering Devastation and when I get up and charge the focus during the third Smoldering Devastation, she comes down and I can't get up there again :/ Can anyone help me out?
lol, At Shannox, I am not able to do a thing. 30-sec stun, 1 sec free, and then again a 30-sec stun. Rinse and repeat.
My Water elemental killed the boss... Got to wait for tomorrow now...
2nd Try. I watch my Water Elemental and had it attack once. It took me about 10 min to get 2 crystals, because of the chain stuns. When the boss enraged, I used Invisibility to get out of combat. Because this is a raid boss, your CD will be reset immediately. It took me 10 min to get another 2. After some chain stuns, I managed to kill Rageface. When the boss did the spear hurl, I was too late to put the item down, but since the crystal stays for 2 min, I waited for the next hurl. When I saw I could loot it, I used Invisibility again to get out of combat and looted the last crystal...
Man o man, what a task this was.
I am now at the part where you need to collect those 1000 cinders. Good thing you said you can do Heroic and Normal. I totally forgot about that. Got about 380 this run. So need 2 more resets to complete that part.
2nd week 711 cinders. Should be completed next week.
3rd week, got all 1000 cinders and did not kill Ragnaros in preparation for the completion of the quest. Got the new Item and killed Ragnaros. I was not able to extract the essence... Also, His corpse despawned within a few seconds. Will wait for the next reset and see what happens.
Okay, so it is next week and all except Ragnaros give me essence. Got 92 on my 1st Heroic and normal run. If everything goes the right way, I will have completed this in 2 weeks. I will update again.
2nd week. Got 181 essences now. Hoping this reset will complete my quest.
3rd week. I got all essences and got the Legendary staff. It took a while, but I finally got there.

did you figure out how to do this? I've got the dull foci but i keep wasting when i drop it and then it doesn't get charged. I then have to go back and get all three fragments again.

you don't said that we have to be in heroic mode to loot the heart of flame....
the hell you get all the peices and get it charged, before he enrages? because as soon as he enraged, I got kicked back down, before I could get the charged relic, and locked in battle, logging out doesn't work, gotta wait for him to kill me.

im 120 , took off all gear , treants did 30% or so didnt give me a problem

I have this staff on my druid and i never knew it could be used as a mount haha.
Now I main mage...
Balance of power takes me around 5-6 weeks, i did it 8 times xmog. (i call this practice makes perfect)
Archaeologists takes me 4 months, i did it 1 time for xmog. (I call this being patient for 16 weeks)
This staff takes me 1 forgot, also 4 months maybe if full time but actually more than a year until I find friends to help out.
I will never want to do it again even now I want the mount haha. (I call this NO WAY)
Hello, if you got it with your druid, when you use it with your mage can you still transform into the mount? or you can only use the transfiguration of the weapon. Thanks :)
@@Jofriite the staff itself is acct wide xmog. however, mount is char only as it requires u to equip and cast the mount.
Treants do way too m uch dmg in 10.0, they literly kill him after 1 attempt :(
EDIT: i did what you said and cast them far away so they had to run to him and only hit him a few times before despaning and it worked :)
I dunno if it's just changed because of the Shadowlands pre patch but Shannox wasn't spawning traps for me despite having pets present on my warlock.

@@TSnomula I did. Found out the pet actually had to register on the threat table of the boss itself before he would actually spawn traps. I kept it on passive at first cause it accidentally killed a dog first go. Once I figured out the threat table thing was able to collect the three pieces and form the quest item that needed charging.

@@TSnomula Yeah I was on a lock. just had my imp jab him once then turned off attack and back to passive and it worked fine.

Delegation seems to be pretty buggy since shadowlands prepatch. Some are saying that Shannox isnt spawning traps. Hopefully this gets fixed.

@@clancamper It took me many tries. Basically if she bugs by dropping, and not returning to the upper layer, you need to die and reset. I had to turn my druids back to her and just let her beat on me until I died. I just alt tabbed and watched a youtube video until I was dead. And rinsed and repeated. I think it took me 4 deaths to complete that part. so it IS do-able, just a pain in the ass.
@@clancamper Just loot the three fragments, die and craft the focus next try. Then you go up instantly, put it down, and get the focus charged on the first smouldering. Hope that helps.

I am unable to start the quest after killing the molten lord in firelands. I am thinking that I might've started this quest already but I do not know where I left the chain. Is there a macro that I can use to show me what step I am on?
Go to ogrimmar and go to where the war chief is there should be a quest giver that’s a belf with blue eyes that gives the quest

On my mage I grab the 2 eggs and I can't see them in my bag I think it's bugged I did it on heroic I have my chitinous focus and my rhyolite focus what am I doing wrong.
By "grab the 2 eggs" what do you mean? You need to kill the birds that come out of the eggs, (twice) so you can loot the three pieces.

Guys i am having an issue with Bethtilac, for some reason i dont get enough time to pick up the fragments, combine them and then go up the web to charge it. She comes down after the 4th smoldering devastation and she doest go back up :/ so i have to wait to be killed like 5 min each time any suggestion?
experienced this aswell. solved it by killing all adds to prolong the smoldering devastation casts. looted the fragments and combined as fast as possible. I went up and placed the core near the center of the arena where there's a hole. Then, i jumped down and killed another spider and took the rope during her last smoldering devastation cast. That made me appear on top while she went down. I had a few seconds to loot my charged core, before i fell thru the spiderweb.

@@zyworex5098 It doesn't work tho :/ After beth' tilac starts to cast devastation the cinderweb spinners wont spawn new "elevators"

Hey, just did it and had trouble as well. if you are a mage you can Alter time before she kicks you down, then alter up again and press the loot :)
Since even naked I cannot be killed, I just join a premade group and leave, then get teleported to the graveyard after a minute. Also do what zyworex did.
i'm frostmage with the pet out but Shannox doesn't throw any traps huehue u.u
Treants with no gear in DF do too much dmg killed him so fast.

@@Joe-bs6hd I made my bf log in and do it with me. Just get a guildie to go in. It's not that bad. After you get this part done the rest is FAST AF and I was lucky to get time walking raid during that time so I got an extra lockout of essences

No, and can't use dragonflight flying. But still very cool. Maybe after this xpac, you will be able to use the dragonflying on it.

Kill rageface. Step into traps. Let pet kill traps. Put focus into spear location.

this cant be done anymore. When I get up to the Spiderboss and put down the focus thing, I get thrown down and I cant get up with spinners again since no webs spawn from the the spinners. She stays down and never goes up again a second time. Undoable
You can, i did it too. If you got the Dull, you go up to boss place it instantly, then he goes to the middle to cast his explosion , while casting you spam the right mouse key onto your crystal. Easy.

You night have to kill more trash and more. Of the molten lord's in there. I had to kill alot of them. Or make sure you ain't got the quest in stormwind portal room as well.
as of 10.1.5 the treants are too strong and will kill him kinda bummed because im doing this on my druid

Pretty good guide. Only missing one thing: You need to complete the "Throne of the Four Winds" or both "Bastion of Twilight" and "Blackwing Descent" first before you start this. If you don't then you won't be able to get the quest.

You only need to do one of the three, not one or the other two. I've only fully ran Blackwing Descent, after reading the Wowhead where it also confirms that you need to run one of the three, and am currently on Delegation.

Beth just comes down after casting a bunch of whatever she is casting up there and never goes back up again, how the f do u have time to do all this, go up then go down then go up again. Is this like some new bug where she permanently comes down and that's it?

monk can get the staff or not ?
Any class can get it, but only the classes mentioned can use it (and turn into the dragon mount) and transmog it. And since this was in game before monks were, monks can't use. Sorry...

same problem here, no traps at all
shannox needs 2 people or you and a pet to even drop a trap, so ask a friend or have a pet.
As a shaman in any spec while in Firelands on any difficulty the starting quest isn't popping up ... anyone know why?
To wit I have completed all of the required dungeons on Heroic Difficulty as well. I have also farmed Firelands for many weeks and never seen this quest chain pop up.

You may have to do the other raids in Cata
The quest starts in orgrimmar there’s an npc near sylvanas that begins the chain
