The actress in this is so talented. Her expressions and the way she can make her the rims of her eyes red as if she’s about to cry but also the talent of her crying. It's not as easy as you think. We say this when we are out of a situation but when in it there is more than just physical abuse. It starts usually start with mental and emotional abuse. The relationship starts based on love. You believe he can change and if there are kids its worse. The treats become almost out of a horror movie. Trust me hear of a lot of cases like that.

I also hated the fact they when the daughter was telling the story the mother said “Oh but I thought that John was a nice guy” by saying that, you are validating Johns appearance as a good husband and undermining the abuse the daughter went through. You can not validate a facade without undermining reality. But I guess those thought processes open up vulnerability in the daughters emotional support system which is the mother. This was unbelievably good. The acting, the cinematography etc. I love how she pretended to order pizza, but was on the phone with the cops. It was extremely risky, but it worked.

Being in an abusive relationship is terrible and horrible. It's not as easy as people think to get out of an abusive relationship or unhealthy abusive situations. Especially if you don't have money and a vehicle to leave the abusive relationship or abusive situation. You make a report and get a restraining order. It doesn't matter because some abusers will break the restraining order. Sometimes you just have to pack up and move away and not tell anyone where your going.

I loved 700 miles away from family. I fled to shelter in Florida where I lived and had them transfer me to shelter in Virginia. My brother drove to Florida shelter and got me. Took me home to get some things and drove me to Virginia with my sons.

Ladies as a man myself this is unacceptable behavior. This man is bad news. Probably was raised in a toxic abusive environment. The moment a man hits you ladies, get out. If you want to leave your abuser. Make plans and escape when he's not home. Change your phone number, change accounts, do what you have to do and tell a friend or your family what's going on so they can better protect yall.
A man has no business putting his hands on a women just because she the weaker vessel. That make a man weak, pathetic, and above all a coward. Same goes for women (mainly the man).
Were in the bible does it say treat your wife like a slave and abuse the crap out of her to make them submissive which I believe is the problem when men read these scriptures and take them out and use them as an excuse to justify what their doing. It says love your wife as Christ loves the church the Lord being the groom and the church is bride. Men are suppose to encourage the wife and praise her for holding down the fort while the man makes dough and bring food to the table. Nothing wrong with a woman working because when God created Adam he said it's not good for a man to be alone, so he created a companion to help (the woman) to be his partner. If men have a problem with that they can take it up to the man upstairs and I will promise you you'll lose. Without women no boy or girl would be born into the men and women of today. Men stop making excuses for your inability to treat your counterpart as second rate just because she's different than what you can do.

Charismatic people have a way of getting inside others heads and twisting it. That actor played that really well, I've seen that bs in person and I've seen it work on someone and I called bs and almost got decked for it. It's not stupidity, it's concern for a loved one. That being said, we all need to learn how to see the signs of that because otherwise anyone could fall victim to it. Trust me, when you've seen it you can spot it a mile away, especially if you were the one it was about, but if you haven't, you won't know what to look for. I'm grateful for this video showing that, maybe it'll help some :)

I know this is a skit but this makes me so mad and upset. I was abused for years. Scared for my life, broken ribs, broken wrist, head injuries. I was terrified. I was young back then. I was a sucker for punishment because it happened often with the men I chose to be with. I know I will probably get a lot of hate for being me and being so trusting, it is what it on that. No matter who you are please get out. This is not love, it's all about control. Love yourself, unlike I did for yrs and get out before it's too late.

I was sexually and physically abused from age of 4 yrs old. Not my mother believe even her husbands did that to me. She sold me as property for 13 yrs .

Just ONCE, I'd like to see a story where the husband is the victim and/or hero and NOT the perpetrator. Statistics show that women can also be abusive towards men. Men actually have a much harder time being believed as well. I'm all for raising awareness- but too often these portrayals of domestic abuse pander to the stereotypical trope of men being evil towards women, without acknowledging the fact that it is very much a TWO-SIDED problem!
