    Man, I just love Mike. I just can't stop loving him. He is such a cool, talented and humble frontman. I just want to know him some day.

    Saw and heard them for the first time last night, truly an experience I'll never forget. They captivated me within the first 30 seconds of them starting their set. These guys are on another level in another world, so glad I went to the Mothership tour and saw these dudes.

    I love Mikes approach to stage presence is awesome. The set felt like it was building into the more intense and heavy back catalogue, and the whole time while being almost euphoric, Mike had this constant looming intensity that kept the crowd on edge. Definitely a one of a kind experience.

    Amazing interview and editing, this is why T.V. will NEVER come anywhere close to the internet. This right here is down to earth, quality journalism, I can't wrap my head around the amount of work you guys must go through to get all these great artists on your channel! Keep up the good work, you have a subscriber for life.

    It's really great mad eyed vocalist guy and the band found each other. Dude's magical, made Language sort of fortified meditational experience.

      He's "spirit-eyed"! :D

    These guys really figured it the fuck out! My introduction to these guys was the Language album then I went back and discovered Exoplanet...that album will forever hold a place in my heart. As does all their albums but where I came from mostly djenty and just straight ass beating riffs. They can capture that aggression but they also pull in the softer side of things and blend it beautifully! This band really makes me look at music differently and I'm so thankful to have stumbled apon them!

  • @Brave_New_Tube
    @Brave_New_Tube 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've started comparing listening to The Contortionist like riding a really fun/challenging mountain bike trail. You're familiar and experienced with the activity (listening to metal), but a this new trail throws you for a loop at first (me hearing TC for the first time), but the more you ride it and become familiar with it, the more you can anticipate the loops and tricks and take some liberties in how you approach and feel them. The more I listen to them, the more I appreciate the intricate subtleties and transitions in all of their music. They're my fave for a reason! Lol
    Edit: I find this analogy is pretty good for most metal 👌

    • @FreqsTV
      @FreqsTV  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jmb15 great analogy! Totally agree. Looking forward to what TC puts out next. Based on our interview I think we can expect new trails...

      @FreqsTV  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks! I met the guys when they toured last year with Protest the Hero and I was really taken by their show. Glad we could include them this time around.
      Jordan will be the season finale:-) I'm sure we will bring the series back. The fans seem to love it.

      they all are, its like their whole thing being stoned as fuck and playing crazy prog

    • @Brave_New_Tube
      @Brave_New_Tube 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Probably to help performance anxiety; can't imagine playing what these guys do as often as they do for as many people as they do. They're held to an INCREDIBLY high standard

    • @Killenmachine05
      @Killenmachine05 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree, also now that ive done it, I get it, I cant speak for everyone, but I found a certain connection/fluidity to my instrument, I could play stuff I couldnt play normally just because it passively comes out without thought

    • @Brave_New_Tube
      @Brave_New_Tube 8 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      For sure. It's like a double-edged sword for me, stoned playing/listening. I feel like some things are more passive and natural, and I tend to feel a more in-depth connection with what I'm listening to or playing, but I tend to make more small careless mistakes in that mindset. It's totally a cool feeling playing this way, but it isn't 100% productive all of the time on my end
