Outside of the current political situation (with the two genocides, one of which we are bank-rolling), this is exactly the way English fans are treated. Also, Dutch football has a serious problem with violence, I had a season ticket in Nijmegen but stopped going after 20 games because it was just dangerous. I saw more trouble at nothing games than I have at derbies with my team and when playing against Millwall or Gillingham.

That is not the case here. Whatever else you can think of her, Halsema is generally a decent human being that opposes inflammatory rhetoric. She expressed something more nuanced and people immediately used her (badly chosen) words in a single sentence to spread a polarizing message that is very much removed from her usual style and intent.
