  • A key point in blocking and any other move is to maintain your CHUSHIN. When you achieve this, you will be able to really "see" your opponent. It means you see things objectively. In order to see your opponent's breath and movement, you yourself need to have a calm mind and heart.
    OK let's begin!

    I held a dog off not long ago holding my walking stick in front of me like you do with your Bokken (Chudan). His owners got him before we had to rumble. I don’t know what the dog was trying to do; but it couldn’t get near me; and I was in a good position to defend. Thanks for the lessons!

    Another excellent video 👍. Although, I kept wondering what strike I would be blocking? So, I guess that would be another video lesson. On a side note, I grew up playing Ice Hockey and always had a stick in my hand that we had to learn how to use correctly. One day as a kid I went to a professional Ice Hockey game and saw a player accidentally get hit in the mouth and lost 6 teeth at once. They had to use a snow shovel to remove the blood off the ice. After watching this video I will practice my blocks and one day know what I am blocking.

    How distinguish between "parrying", "blocking", and "evading"?

    • @SAMURAIKAZARTS
      @SAMURAIKAZARTS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Block is just literally block from opponent attack.
      paryy & evading doing at the same time.
      But parry is parying the opponent attack using katana. And at the same time evading your body from opponent katana.
