That is what they are now promoting is black people need sunscreen. Sunscreen blocks vital production of natural Vitamin D from the sun of the skin of black people. Everyone needs some exposure of natural sun derived Vitanin D. It also helps bones. I don't need sunscreen. Video here on You Tube that shows what white people and other very light people look like under ultra violet light using sunscreen. They look under the ultra violet light and their skin looks like a dark skin melanated black person to the sun. Sun kissed melanated skin. Nothing like it.

I mean its not a rule but black and Asians have certain benefits when it comes to our skin and certain disadvantages too. There are also a lot of white people who go into the sun WAY TOO MUCH, and they werent build for any sun. Asians also stay out of the sun and have better skin care, more fat in the face ( on average) so obviously that would be beneficial when aging. Black people tend to have more oily skin and the melanin helps to hide a lot of issues. Asians tend to have stronger hair on average, hence the whole world uses their hair. But black skin gets dark spots more easily, also keloids are more of an issue for melanated people
The white people jumping to call this racist arent used to having negative things connected to being white lol. There are white women who age well, genetics and care.. We all have benefits and negatives to the group we belong to and we are individuals, so no rule is absolute.

I left have to remind them they are only a couple years older than me….Because they live hard lives they think I’m a kid and it’s a lie that white women don’t hear they age bad, all my life I’ve heard it on TV even from white women in real life that they age like milk. But beauty is not just an outside thing you can be 40 wrinkle free and still be an old hag I got plenty at my job. Totally agree! It's a lot more than just your skin color and how much melanin you have. I like the saying black don't crack too but that's not always the case. I know black people who don't take care of their skin (drink enough water, wear sunscreen, stay away from stress and strife, etc) and it shows. They look tired and worn out and much older. I also know some white people that have a good skin regimen and take care of themselves and they look younger and really good.

This conversation is going to get more complicated in the future. Stress, smoking, drug use and bad diet (malnutrition) will affect your skin and the aging process. But with new age skin care and med spa procedures, no one has to look their age if they dont want to. Either way, it requires self love in the form of discipline and having resources.

Asians, men and women treat us as thieves when we come to their especially their beauty stores and well most wp the same way it has been since our ancestors arrived here on slave ships. We are treated as like we are invincible. I give up on trying.

Pushing 62, be happy and content. I still work full time and when we have office parties this girl gets on the dance floor and before you know it everyone else joins in. If I don’t dance my colleagues are too afraid to get on the floor on their own. So guess who the check will turn up when they organise a party. I am African and as with all Melanated family we can move and it brings happiness and encourages contentment which relaxes your facial muscles and tighten your butt and waistline. Yes at my age I bust out those African moves and by next morning I need A stretcher! Worth it .

I'm 43 and I look 33, And when people ask what I'm doing I tell them I never got a tan and use sun protection everyday. My heritage is French, German and Eastern European. Black skin does have a natural spf but still needs protection but I agree black skin ages so well and is beautiful. I'm very pale so burn easily and I don't understand why white women use sunbeds to get darker and don't understand that your skin was not made for strong uva and ultraviolet rays. Yet Asian cultures want lighter skin, Take care of the skin you have.

My lighter skinned black sister is 74 and has no lines though just a little skin hyperpigments. She looks 55 to 60 years old. Sunscreen will make natural vitamin D production from the sun in the skin of black people fall way off. But do you.

@@brimontXP glycolic acid helps with hyper pigmentation too. If youre worried about vitamin d levels ask your primary doctor to blood test you. If low they can give you vitamins OR you can go without sunscreen at least once a week.
